LittleworldcunninglyCanary MissionPlease tell listeners NOT to search for themselves of others on CM. People who have done so report being immediately targeted. Folks should use extreme caution visiting the site as they have been known to track IP addresses. Thank you for your work. Strength and solidarity.

DrDK2Unusually ThoroughWhat I most love about this pod is they go deeper in details. Even when discussing something that is widely discussed, they often provide more background details that really make me understand the topic. Thank you.

Bulldog232TDS ruined the showThis used to be a fun show with interesting views. Unfortunately, Trump derangement syndrome (TDS) has fully set in.
-
DwarfGrumblesNews that is at least TRYING.Thank you, CZM, for at least working sincerely at journalism. Even if I were misaligned politically, I’d respect the work ethic and intent.

Baron CImportant perspectivesThis show does a fantastic job of providing important and often unheard perspectives. Appreciate all their work! Love the recent episodes with Kaveh and the coffee labor unions.
-
NourishandresistNothing but Controlled OppositionThis podcast is clearly sponsored, controlled opposition. It critiques the symptoms of collapse but protects the cause—capitalism

Soulsonic1234Good people, real journalists, important info you don’t get elsewhereSubscribing to cool zone media was my best purchase in 24! All Of their shoes are fun and informative
-
losthorizonsExcellent, entertaining commentary and analysis but……they may need to change the name of the show to Its Happening Here. Much as they, I won’t say predicted, but anticipated.
-
techtonixCloseted Climate deniers? Why is it, not a single episode covers anything remotely close to all world destroying stuff going on with fossil fuels? The closest thing was the Union Carbide episode (which was good) but not a single thing about PFAS, fracking, Transfer Partners? Y’all parents operate a refinery or something? Cmon. Just concentrate on identity politics? Go listen to Drilled.
-
Rabble Rousing RZASupport Antifa much?Your poor attempts at fooling your supporters mg, even your last “patriarch”could not see them. What’s worse is that you poorly hidden propaganda offend even your loyal, genuine supporters. Go back to playing pretend.

KingHerbyImportantThey do very important reporting and are fun to listen to other than the whiny teenage anarchism
-
OrdWasRightIt’s like half ads. That’s a bit too much no matter how much I want to like it

GymBaronLiked the show but the affiliated Reddit group turned me offI’ve followed along with this show for a couple of years. The points are generally interesting, even if I don’t always agree with them. But I finally unsubbed after getting repeatedly attacked on their affiliated reddit sub. They are hateful and spew anti-Israel/pro Palestine rhetoric. And that’s just the Reddit section. The last show on the podcast also turned me off when they were talking about the future of AI and of wishing various public figures dead. I don’t have time for this negativity in my life.
-
King whirlyMixedWhile I find many of the topics informative I also find some of the rhetoric to be suggesting sedition or political violence. It’s said in such a way to provide plausible deniability but I’m not a dummy and I’m sure many listeners are not dummies and understand the underlying suggestions. I’m actually surprised iheart lets this be on their channel.
-
AidienapI truly wish I could listen to thisContent-wise, this is exactly the kind of podcast I would normally be hooked on, but the ads are just out of control. I totally get that ads are necessary because the people who make these podcasts need to pay rent and buy food, but this is the only podcast I’ve ever encountered that’s like 60% content, 40% ads.
-
Alvin1428Way too many adsWould give it 5 stars if half the episodes weren’t ads
-
Anthony P123Too many ads.About 30% ads. Unbearable.

OkMom2011Love the podI just heard a Christian Mingle ad tho

giggleatafuneralAntifa Support GroupThese guys live in a fantasy world of villainous right wing militias around every corner. You might as well classify this podcast as Antifa fan-fiction.
-
mysterymachi really needed this but....JFC, for two minutes of info you get two minutes of commercials. I listen to pods at work and I can't always skip ahead. I just can't listen. I mean its the WORST i have ever dealt with when it comes to pods. One or two commercials every ten minutes, ok cool. But literally every five minutes you have two minutes of ads. Its too much. JFC people.

jdkdidjmdwhyI want to respect this but why do you deny that October 7th was a genocide? If you want Jews on your side why do you deny this?
-
Civ'sAs daily podcasts go, I’m not complainingI don’t listen to EVERY single episode bc not every title appeals immediately or just subject matter wise isn’t something I’m vibing w/ at the time. I’m not listening to every “leftist” podcast on the internet but I think these folks do a great job at holding that while also existing in reality. If you’re a twitter leftist that comments on ppls post about how they’re not leftist enough or argues over theory and historical facts (read opinions that you’ve developed) then this probably isn’t for you. And that’s okay
-
fndkcigfndGood show, though it has wandered a bitAlways good information. I’m sure that it is coming from a genuine place, but the knee-jerk “yeah…” and “Jesus Christ” starts to feel disingenuous and annoying. But if that is the biggest issue they are doing a pretty good job.

Philly Phan 25More from Monacelli & Dr. Michael PhillipsThe episode featuring Steven Monacelll and Dr. Michael Phillips stood out as informative, thoughtful, and well-researched. I’d love to hear more from Monacelli and Phillips!

DrThrowDownToo many ads in this leftist podcastWay way way too many ads for this declared leftist-anarchist podcast. Also too many episodes are made for just the content. Some episodes are 30 minutes long but after ads are actually 15 minutes or less. There are episodes that go on too long, others too short (again ads). Lots of episodes are just bummer news with no situation provided. Saint Andrew’s episodes are the worst since he has a dull soft monotone voice that is boring to listen to and the other host with him never makes a sound (must be asleep). Does this podcast need episodes on the history of Islam? No because it will never happened here.

Foggybottom19Used to like but now it’s like an audible doom scrollI used to enjoy listening to stuff Robert and company put out but over the past few years it’s turned into a never ending doom scroll for your ears. It’s an echo chamber of the same thoughts over and over with an anarchist tenor that is really not helpful in todays society

☆.。.:*・゜☆゙((ε(。・д・。)I love CZM book club (and the rest of the podcast too)This is where I get a lot of my news these days. I appreciate the global + local perspective and how much on the ground reporting they do. The hosts are funny, have great rapport, and seem to be coming from a relatively sober, well-informed, anarchistic perspective that i appreciate immensely. But mostly I'm writing to say how grateful I am for the inclusion of Margaret's Sunday fiction reading! I'm a huge fan of the Strangers In A Tangled Wilderness podcast and feel reading short fiction aloud as a podcast is a brilliant way to introduce people to stories. The readings are hypnotic and the sound design that's paired with them is beautiful. Moreover, historical pieces of writing and modern speculative fiction pairs so well with the podcast's main content and brings its core ideas of community struggle against forces that wish to bring about the end of days into sharper focus. Thank you to everyone on the Cool Zone team for making this work happen. Y'all help me stay out of the social media trenches, giving me a little more space to connect with my loved ones and community.

nicknamebrokentryagainFirst few seasonsI’m writing this review about the podcast from its inception up to around 2021. The storytelling at the beginning at most of the episodes about the hypothetical future is riveting, and the writing is quite engaging. I also enjoy the way the episodes are structured. That said—and I’m not going to take any points off of my review for this—but the ads are so obnoxious and take up so much of each episode that it greatly impacts my enjoyment of the pod. I get that they need sponsors to continue doing the good work, but I feel like playing the exact same ads for ~3 minutes or more every 6-10 minutes of content is just so excessive and disruptive. I’m admittedly ignorant as heck and have never created a podcast, so I’m willing to accept that I’m just dumb, but I feel like they could make the ads at the beginning and end longer and shorten the ad breaks throughout each episode. I don’t know, I just think it’s crazy how many ad breaks there are and how long they each last considering most episodes are only 25-45 minutes long. Much longer and more frequent than BTB or other podcasts I listen to. Anyway, rant over. I still love the podcast so far and you haven’t lost a listener.
-
RobBird08Super super left so I leftThese podcasts are so woke and leftist it was unbearable. Listen to anything but these people.
-
wdrowspauses, pleasei'm enjoying the book club stories very much but i wish Margaret would allow at least some few seconds of space between the stories and the ad break bumps, and at the end before closing remarks. it feels disrespectful to the text and inconsiderate of the listener's experience not to mark those shifts. full marks for selection and delivery of the texts themselves though. thanks!
-
JAATOCan’t unhear itSophomoric attempt at political hate comedy. I’m middle of the road politically but couldn’t make it through one episode. Spews more spite than box of 7th grade girls. (And about as factually accurate as said box)

GuyForBulbsRestates establishment narrativesListen to Electronic Intifada or Max Blumenthal/GrayZone instead. Those people are skilled researchers, have informed guests and can hold the line amidst pressure to assume a narrative during a lack of evidence. I'm not liberal or moderate unlike many commenters here. However, if you are, you'll actually enjoy my left news suggestions because they are highly principled and factual. I had to stop listening to this podcast after the October 9th 2023 episode from Robert where he repeated unsubstantiated propaganda about rape which "Israel" wielded to create psychological acceptance for its live-streamed genocide against Palestinians. (My podcast recommendations show why these claims are unsupported Zionist propaganda and how "Israel" doesn't allow independent investigators in to verify its "irrefutable evidence". You will also see that "liberal Israeli" news outlets like Haaretz, after months of claiming these reporters are lying, eventually corroborate their factual reporting.) It churned my stomach to listen to Robert's report and made me realize how this podcast supports establishment narratives in many ways. This podcast gives lip service to nebulous "leftist" sentiment, but ends up tearing into many organized groups that posed a real challenge to (US/European) global imperialism and a benefit to their people. It will often equate the main dealers of harm with those organizing to get out from under the boot which is inexcusable. I have appreciation for this podcast for making me yell "f you" to liberalism and all of its contradictions. That said, I can't recommend it for people who want to learn, and help build/protect revolutionary groups that are working to remove the violence of US/European global dominance and build self-determined societies.
