    Old faithful + update
Edit 3/2025: hate the post mortem episodes but love the rest. Edit 2021: Love the show but hate the ever changing volume of the commercials. Edit: May, 2019. They fixed volume and decreased amount of commercials, hooray! Moved from 4 stars to 5.

    Bring back Troy Roberts
    Love the older episodes

    Pretty good show
But one or two of the women are totally obnoxious—they YELL like they are doing a live report of a plane crash or gang shooting. It’s so jarring. It’s a program, not a newscast from the 80’s. Please put the name of the host in the description so I can avoid these women.

    Giving older episodes new titles
Why do you give older episodes new titles? For instance the episode Dark Voyage was renamed to Anchors Away. It’s like you are trying to fool the listener that it is a new episode that they haven’t heard before. 🤷
  • shantoocan
    Sexist, glorified inaccurate facts
Peter Van Stant should be removed from this team. His sexist, chauvinistic and belittling of women is far from objective.

    Who killed Jane Newman
Another episode in where it shows how stupid juries are!! When you think you know more then everyone else but can’t get yourself out of jury duty really says a lot!!

    Love the Podcast Option
I’ve always been a big fan of the show, but love that I can run errands and clean house while listening.

    Good Show
I’ll Pass on the commercial asking me to donate to “planned parenthood” though 🤝

Too much judgement in Hollywood Secrets
I love listening to 48 Hours but, I found this dated show hard to listen to. The fact that the victim had multiple boyfriends was raised over and over again. She was an adult, and I have a feeling that had this been recorded today, the commentary would have been less pointed.

    Love this show
This is the show that got me interested in true crime. The recent episode about Susan wright made me mad. “Oh she was a stripper for two months when she was 18” so obviously that means she’s not abused and didn’t kill in self defense. Then Jeff’s dad “I don’t know why this other woman is trying to save Susan. Sisterhood of the strippers I guess” he needs a reality check.

    Fantastic!!
48 Hours is a news staple for those of us true crime fans. Absolutely one of the best news shows in history. Really love the Post Mortem episodes, they are a wonderful edition to the episodes. I love the behind the scenes style perspective we get from those who reported on the cases. It’s obvious the 48 Hours team cares about the cases they cover.

    Make work enjoyable
48hrs podcast gets me thru my graveyard shift At work.
  • EmilyCSBK
    Insensitive
Have liked this show, but am disgusted by the El Segundo episode that just re-aired, which spotlights DA Darren Levine, a man promoting hand to hand combat techniques used by the Israeli army, which is currently perpetrating genocide and mass war crimes against innocent people in the Middle East. Poor taste, 48 Hours.

    Post Mortem
Ridiculous that the Post Mortem episodes begin with a recap of the podcast from the previous day. Try following Dateline's lead – – they tell you in the first five seconds that if you haven't listened to the podcast yet or seen the episode, go listen to it and then come back. They don't waste time in their "Talking Dateline" telling you what the episode from the day before was about. Then again, there's a lot you could learn from Dateline. And Anne-Marie could just TRY to be a little bit enthusiastic -- narration is soooo dull and monotone. Horrible.
  • TEXHND
    Typical
I enjoyed Candyman until it became a typical, racially motivated, episode. I’m done.
  • cupcakesobrien
    Snooze fest
I literally just yelled in frustration “THIS IS BORING”. Too many ads, interviewers are dull and hard to listen to. Seems like a lot of ripping off recent dateline episodes as well. I love true crime and listen to loads of podcasts, but I’ll probably unsubscribe from this one.

Great show; please lose the opening music!
These shows are excellently produced and I like that they are about 45 minutes instead of an hour and a half. However, I cannot stand the opening cello music!! I always have to fast forward through it. Can you please get some better music? It doesn’t have to be all scary and dramatic. Thank you.
  • Pual.
    To many ads
45 min pod cast with 20 min of ads, also a lot of this are just copy and paste from dateline
  • RachelMe1993
    Does anyone edit this?
Within the first few minutes we get an intro sound bite of an investigator? … who knows it could be a random person but they included it in the main intro he says something like “most people who get murdered are not innocent or victims… but this gal was both”
  • Caitlin CC.
    Great collection
Good reporting- the least sensational of ‘this’ type of podcast.
  • NorthSeaNY
What’s with the planned parenthood ads?
Yuck! Why not substitute a St Jude’s children hospital ad? That’s one most Americans can support!
  • leslie_will
    Gross
CBS didn’t learn their lesson and are still advocating for planned parenthood and shoving their ideology down our throats. You’re already a joke for news and politics so I guess it’s only fitting that you ruin the one decent thing you still had.
  • GorpBorkZ
    Don’t pay for subscription
Still tons of ads with paid subscription!!
  • Matt_B_W
    Troy Roberts is an embarrassment
His contrived voice affectation is laugh-out-loud ridiculous. Why do broadcast companies think phony narrators like this are a good choice?
  • Heather7936
    Wondery plus
The start says wondery plus subscribers listen ad free but it’s actually a 48+ subscription. You need to update your intro.
  • mw11385
    Why buy a subscription?
“Ad-free” isn’t really a thing, apparently. Do better, 48 Hours. This is getting tiresome.
  • Deacon YoMouf
    Too many ads
3 sentences then ads 4 sentences 2 the same as before ad 2 new one then more ads 6 sentences only 3 new ones and so on

About reproductive rights being taken away. Please stop begging us to kill babies. Deleting this podcast. A mandate was spoken. Stop this madness. Planned parenthood wants to kill off black babies.

    Post-Mortem Ruined it
I like the regular podcast which is the one I actually subscribed to. At some point they added follow up discussion episodes where all the reporters and people involved just give their opinions. It’s dumb and I have to manually remove every one of them from the queue/up next, etc. feeds. This is incredibly annoying because I always wear my headphones and don’t always have my phone near me. I’m usually listening while doing something that requires me to stop, wash my hands, find my phone, etc. just to remove it because I don’t want to spend the next 30 minutes listening to something I can’t unsubscribe from. When post mortem episodes are removed from the actual show feed I’ll resubscribe.
  • this show used to be good
    Liberal bias garbage
Snobby liberals jerking each other off. Typical of mainstream media.
  • Deedle Doe
    The voice
Any of the episodes or ads with Erin’s voice cause me physical and mental anguish. I physically can’t handle it and I feel bad because I want to hear the episodes but it’s torture when I hear Erin talking
  • ict71
    Good stories too many ads
The ads are annoying. I don’t mind one maybe two at the most but this is way too much. Each ad break has several ads so you end up hearing so much extra junk. No thanks. I’ll pass.
  • Chuck201212
Awful music and bad host voices
The music is awful and distracting, the episodes featuring Erin Moriarty are unlistenable, and why is there often what seems like a second host who comments only infrequently during most episodes? Copy Dateline.
  • pauln483
    Too many repeats!
I love the show but the repeats are really annoying.
  • Toot56
    vocal fry
I wanted to listen to the Black Swan episode but the Vanity Fair contributor’s vocal fry was like nails on chalkboard. When are young people going to drop this annoying affectation?
  • sportyspice11
Repetitive and over the top music
Many repeat cases and the background music is ridiculously loud and makes it difficult to hear people speaking. Imagine having a conversation in the same room as someone playing the drums. This podcast is marginally better than that scenario. I only listen when I’ve run out of other podcasts to listen to, and often not even then. People keep complaining about it in the reviews but apparently no one’s listening.
  • dani.dani
Repeat cases, promos for bad shows Midnight Order
It’s not like there aren’t enough unsolved murder cases out there that need public attention, why so many repeats? And have you actually listened to the Midnight Order hosts’ obnoxious “valley girl” vocal fry? They sound like annoying bimbos, idk who can stand listening to that.

    Rate and review
Enjoy listening to the podcast I won’t say that I love it because sad Lane I started from the beginning and I have came across the same episode at least five times I had to go back and look and make sure that I had it on unplayed episodes. it wouldn’t bother me so much except for I listen when I ride or while I’m doing something that I have to either listen to the repeated episode for the time stop what I’m doing to Market is played
  • KWC42292
    I can’t take it!
The distracting addition of jazz music throughout the ENTIRE podcast episode makes it intolerable for me.
  • psweenz
    Knockoff Dateline
Pretty good stories, but it drives me absolutely nuts that dateline and 48 hours just post the same stories with “slightly” different interviews and act like it’s brand new. They are both guilty, not pointing fingers here. There are tons of murders- can’t you find an original story?

    Music needs to change
Like others have said, the music is too loud. It doesn’t hit the same like Dateline or 20/20. They need to improve the music and turn it down. It’s so outdated.
  • chardun20
    Why do interviews
I like to hear facts, not the opinions of the hosts. Why do interviews if you already formed an opinion about your questions?
