PbskidtheoneVillages DemocratsWhy didn’t you interview the man leading the Dem support in The Villages? His name is Ed McGinty. There have been other supporters as well.

Randel317Fairly enjoyable until Warren episodeI learned The NY Times only wants to write the story the Warren campaign failed due to sexism. Instead of researching and exploring the other failures of the campaign they only briefly ask at the midpoint of the podcast if there’s another reason can her campaign could have failed. Instead of exploring that question and exploring her fall they skip right back to it being about sexism. This kind of reporting, that lacks asking tough questions, or exploring the failures of the campaign, sans her being a woman are why I cancelled my subscription.

JamesKnappBoring Show, Terrible ReportingThis show keeps interrupting The Daily feed and it needs to stop. I love what the New York Times is doing in podcasts but this show is so boring and pointless. The first episode I spent 1/3 of the time listening to the reporters waking up to houses, and the latest episode was interviewing the Warren campaign who answered every questions with a long, drawn out “I don’t know.” Just riveting. Every other part of this show is listening to show person in some state give a vague opinion about a candidate they are sort of invested in kinda. It’s clear in the editing room they are coming back with garbage reporting and trying to fit it in the Daily mold so no one knows it actually is about nothing.

Beth84749the well manicured fieldSubscribed because I was told I would hear from the voices that NYT and other media left out in 2016. Three episodes in and it’s the same ole NYT narrative. My god. Not sure if I was deceived or NYT is just that incapable of getting out of its own brain and letting the story be told. And no, I’m not a Bernie bro. I’m not a trumper. I just find it’s better to indulge in audio reporting that doesn’t feel it needs to hijack the narrative with carefully chosen talking points behind the backs of the people you say you are trying to give a voice to.

drowninginflameI’m done with it!Two episodes in, and I can’t even finish the second one! I’m so disgusted... The first episode’s notes made it seem like they were going to focus on ‘undecided’ voters in Iowa, but halfway through the episode it turned into a Buttigieg commercial! Giving the second episode the benefit of doubt, less than 10 minutes in and they’re already at a Buttigieg rally! Buttigieg will never be POTUS...he has no path to beat Trump. I’m done. This podcast is obviously biased...nothing new from the NYT.

JSB8982Journalists on JournalismLoved the high level conversation between two expert journalists about what is journalism and some of the challenges and opportunities. Would love to hear more conversations like that!

Yogacat97Thank youThis episode was so good I listened to the whole thing twice. The second time I kept rewinding and listening to clips. Most recently I rewound it to get this title so I can add it to an already full podcast list, but I need to be informed and thanks to your hard work I can return to the informed person I was before the 2016 election sent me into a news blackout. Because of your work and calm delivery I can get the information I need without the angst other outlets give me. I can’t thank you enough. My friends and family frequently hear me quote the Daily and I’m sure this will be no different.

NvteachNvteachLooking forward to hearing the stories from Americans in the months leading up to the 2020 election. I can think of no one better than Michael Barbero and The Daily reporters to provide a wide perspective of views. And for me... the joy of two podcasts to enjoy.

Silly DotProud of The NY TimesThe New York Times is exactly the kind of reporting I am looking for. I share most of their values and always appreciate their candor. If the episode of the Daily is the first of this series, it was exceptionally done! I believe the type of reporting that they do is critical in a democracy, and I am proud to subscribe!

KalebbnFull circleThis is like full circle for the Times audio. They have grown so much in the last four years, and as a listener from the beginning of the Run Up I feel a weird sense of pride. The starting interview shows why they’re so good as they are - they aren’t afraid of the introspection. It was super impressive. I look forward to the rest of the pod.
