Coronavirus in California

165

"Coronavirus in California: Stories from the Front Lines" is a podcast from the Los Angeles Times hosted by reporter Gustavo Arellano. Every weekday, the podcast gives listeners dispatches from Californians who are in the thick of this pandemic. We hear from medical workers struggling to care for people who’ve fallen ill. We talk to renters and teachers, farmworkers and athletes, from Crescent City to Chula Vista. And we reach out to LA Times staffers to get reports from the field. "Coronavirus in California" will tackle tough questions: What’s actually going on in our hospitals and neighborhoods right now? How is life changing because of COVID-19? What can we do to help? [Advertisement] This L.A. Times podcast is presented to you by Blue Shield of California. The fight is tough, but so are you. Thank you, front line.

    Digestible and Accessible
This podcast takes the coronavirus news of the day and distills it down to an easy-to-digest format while also being surprisingly in-depth. In a time when we are inundated with podcasts and news, I appreciate Gustavo’s ability to tell a story in less than an half an hour. Coupled with a Los Angeles Times subscription, I’ve got what I need to understand how the coronavirus is affecting my home state. Thanks!

    Groundbreaking and enlightening
These concise interviews provide a window into diverse experiences and realities of this extraordinary time of CoronaVirus. These personal stories serve as testimonies that help us all view a much larger picture of how we are all going through such a difficult time in such different- yet the same- ways. I appreciate this innovative approach to journalism and I am very grateful for the points of views of these different stories that I do not have access to anywhere else.

Gustavo talking to everyday Californians Bring Virus close
I have been listening to Gustavo and reading his work for over 15 years. Here is Gustavo bringing this virus close to home. His interviews with everyday day people paint a very realistic picture of how dangerous this pandemic is. From interviews with those infected and those with loved ones affected, to the economic impacts on children, schools, tenants and property owners! Highly recommend!
