Presidents, Prime Ministers, Kings and Queens

by Global

Season One of ‘The Presidents & Prime Ministers brought to life all 55 of Britain's Prime Ministers through interviews with the authors of all 55 essays in Iain Dale’s book The Prime Ministers: Three Hundred Years of History. From the obscure 18th-century figures like the Earl of Shelburne and Henry Pelham to 20th-century titans like Churchill and Thatcher, these podcasts provide a much-needed reminder about their motivations, failures and achievements. Season Two, gives the same treatment to the 45 US Presidents from George Washington through to Joe Biden, with each episode featuring an interview with the author of the essay about a President in Iain Dale’s book ‘The Presidents’. Season Three contained interviews about the various and varied Irish Taoisigh, whilst the new Season 4 takes you through England and the UK's many Kings and Queens, as featured in Iain's book Kings and Queens: 1200 Years of English and British Monarchs. Season 5 looks at the life of 64 Dictators. Buy signed copies of ‘The Prime Ministers’, ‘The Presidents’ and 'Kings and Queens' & 'Dictators' at http://www.politicos.co.uk.

    Wonderful - One suggestion
Is there some way to organize the podcasts in chronological order?

Kings, PMs, Presidents - Excellent Podcast
This is one of my favorite podcasts. Iain does an excellent job questioning his guests, most of whom are quite good. The subjects are individuals who have shaped the history of the UK, US and Ireland. The episodes are also not overly long like a lot of other history podcasts.

Great podcast but somebody teach Dr Felzenberg how to silence notifications. Or put his phone in the other room. Almost unlistenable.

Really interesting RE Do the Walpole one
Was the guy on the Robert Walpole drunk? Please re do this one with someone better. He sounded like some drunk guy at the end of the bar…

    Great content, poor sound
Love the content and expertise of the hosts and guests, but had to turn away as the heavy breathing and hearing every sniffle is quite distracting.

    Very Interesting!!
Wonderfully interesting and highly entertaining podcasts. And educational to boot. A ‘can’t miss’ for anyone interested in British political history.

    Lord Owen on President Carter
A thoroughly engrossing episode of the podcast, discussing the presidency and legacy of Jimmy Carter.

Really good but stupidly muddled order
Really enjoying the series but why or why not put them out in order from first to last, and why tell us you are going to now copy the a,Eric an presidential series and do a set on the american presidents…

    Very Informative
I’m an American, but have loved these. Love the guests. Very informative. My only complaint is the inconsistent audio quality. On many episodes you can hear scribbling and lots of banging around.

    Fantastic quality information and discussion
Although the sound quality is not always consistent. There are loud sounds of fidgeting and scribbling that are quite off putting. It’s really too bad because the discussions are so interesting. Please fix this.
