Got into this podcast because I wanted to learn more about the impact of wrestling in the 1990s. I stayed for the Vince/Helen/Nash imitations. As someone who got into wrestling this year, I appreciate the energetic and informative nature of this dynamic duo. JP constantly calls people idiots and other names, but then he constantly struggles with reading simple words from user emails or from other documents (such as court transcripts). Get a cough button, too. Otherwise it’s an okay show when they’re focused on wrestling and not showcasing their northeast elitism and moronic takes about political matters. The political idiocy is why you guys will never draw a dime (from me).

When they’re actually talking about the topic, it’s fine. But these long improvised bits they do are horrible and ruin the show. Their tangents with “characters” are not only not funny, they go on for what seems like forever. I feel bad for anyone that laughs at this.

Just was curious about content related to the Benoit tragedy. Heard this podcast was good. The dude reading quotes was so cringe. Just read it, I don’t need him play acting tone of people involved. God

Has its moments but really could use an editor or something. 8 to 10 hours of audio for a single show is bonkers. Every single line in a Bischoff magazine article doesn’t need a bit and the hosts guffawing over the fact he has a truck or whatever.

Do you like commercials & really bad impressions? Yes? Then this is the pod for you. Now the main host does give a lot of good info & can tell a story fairly well. But that gets really derailed when the co-host is mainly there to pop himself by doing really bad impressions & you have to endure 3-5 commercial breaks every hour that almost always come without warning when someone is in the middle of a sentence. There’s a lot of wrestling pods out there… and so many of them are not nearly as frustrating as this one.

Impressive amount of work put into this but man, it’s a challenging format. I tried starting the Black Saturday set of episodes and felt like they were spinning their wheels for the first hour. Like these guys though.

This is THE pro wrestling podcast. Choose any subject covered and you’ll be entertained, wonder whose legs had to be broken to gather all of the info shared, and relive some of the best and worst moments throughout wrestling history. Legends.

RIP post modernity

TLF is Easily my favorite wrestling podcast going, but the disrespect leveled at women’s wrestlers physical appearances can be a bit much. Talking about them as sexual objects is offensive as well. Just hear the latest comment about sensational Sherri in the Virgil tribute. Jack isn’t as guilty as the boss is, but he’s still a party to it. Be better guys.

Been listening from close to day 1, I do love the show, but at times it gets a bit grating. I love the character segments, but sometimes it's too much and too repetitive. Case in point with the recent TNA/Hogan journey. Geez, it's just the same schtick over and over, I would have been satisfied with a 2 week special summarizing Hogan's TNA run and the drama of his later years. I don't need 6 months of it. There is so much more classic content that could be covered, get back to the Colliseum tapes, and there are still a ton of classic PPVs, and endless SNME and Clashes. And I groaned when they covered WCCW, AWA etc that I never watched, those were the good ole days of this show compared to TNA. Then we get AEW stuff, thanks hopper winner. And now even the Funk stuff, I agree he is one of the top guys of all time, but do we need months and months of coverage? No other legend got this treatment on their passing, and guys like Dusty, Piper, Scott Hall and Vader were a much bigger part of what most consider the bread and butter of the lapsed eras of WWF and WCW. Most of us WWF/WCW late 80's/early 90's fans didn't know of Funk outside his ECW stuff and then the Chainsaw Charlie run. Can we get back to more of the sweep spots PLEASE.

This college podcast is the most elite wresting nay podcast ever. The amount of detail and research done is second to none. I’m starting from the beginning now, #shelflife, to listen and witness the evolution. From 3 hour episodes containing research and deep dives total to 2 part episode totaling 12 hours, just so we can take 20 minute to DEEP DIVE the meaning of “Bill in the Woods” if you weeel.

#shelflife is what this pod is all about. But when audio issues are soo distracting you can’t get 5 minutes in you’ll never get a chance to hear the quality content.

For as much money as they bring in w patreon, man hire a sound mixer, audio quality is brutal at times. They’ve become that one acquaintance you had in high school who you shared a couple good times with and they just keep bringing it up that memory over and over again. They’ll hit something funny once and then run the well dry on it for 30 minutes, every episode. If you want to listen to a completely overweight, sexist, inappropriate guy make fun of other wrestler’s physiques and talk bad about women this is for you. Too much negativity. This is pro wrestling, have fun with it, hunt the good stuff or why bother?

Truly the 5 star podcast we need. This is the dialed in podcast that is back on track and operating with that Hogan rocket fuel. There’s no time on this show to dance the tango, slip the knot, fire the cannon, heat the stove, peel the banana…

They obviously do a fantastic amount of research with their topics but they go on so many off topic side banter and tangents it gets hard to follow eventually

With then new ads it’s unlistenable. I understand it’s the free version, but commercials were literally coming every other sentence.

Your mix of obvious background study on everything you talk about, but also the absolute hilarity that fills every episode...puts you two gentlemen on a level above the rest and all by your lonesome 😊 Thanks for taking the time you do, so that we can put ourselves back to those glory years of professional wrestling...fake or not! 😆

If you have ever longed for a 6 hour podcast where two middle-aged college students take you the carnival and stuff food into your cavity, this is your cast.

After all these years, they're still managing to be one of the uh uh uh best.

If you know, you know. I could go on and on about how great this podcast is, but you should read other reviewers who articulate better than I can. *****On a side note, there is literally no one who does a better impersonation of Vince, Hogan, Savage, Dusty, Lanny, Kamala, and so many others than JP. Heck, even Crockett. To put it simply: JP sounds more like Vince than Vince does.

I don’t know what Jack and JP are talking about when they get crap for laughing at their own jokes. I laugh too. Spend some money on patreon if you love this show.

That the co-chairs had on for the Episode Review of Dark Side of the Ring, was such a pill. My goodness.

Go listen to the 9-11 episode for a great narrative on the Saudi blood money saga. Stick with them. I listen to a lot of straightforward pods, so I found TLF to be a bit abrasive at times and more than I was used to. BUT now I need it. I need Lanny Poffo down my throat. I need the AWA or WCW or WCCW accountant in my person, wherever he will fit. I need TLF.

A middle aged manchild and his research assistant spend several hours agreeing with each other and projecting their insecurities onto wrestlers under the guise of reviewing wrestling events from their childhood. This includes present day events because their childhood never ended. They relentlessly mock fat wrestlers, then wonder why wrestlers would ever want to use steroids. They make fun of JR for being a college sports fanatic, then get nostalgic about playing with wrestling toys in their college dorm rooms. They get offended at politically incorrect wrestling angles, then take pride in their own politically incorrect jokes about wrestlers. I could go on but you get the point. The worst segment of the show is listener emails, which is the most masturbatory segment I’ve ever heard on a podcast. I guess they have a rabid fan base of down and out losers who use the show as a coping mechanism for their tragic lives and worship the ground these clowns awkwardly walk on. So if you live in your parents’ basement and can’t afford a therapist, this is the podcast for you.

This is the worst production of "Sound Of Music" I have ever heard.

This was a great episode and a very good idea. As someone who wasn’t watching at the time because I was way too young it made me feel like I was there. This episode a time machine. Kudos.
