fharen95Great for DIY PlanningNow that I’m finally married, I can properly review this show! It was a lifesaver for every little detail, which I desperately needed being a self-planner for the most part. Follow and save your favorite episodes- thank me later!

SparklinstaarToo Repetitive_Same SponsorAs a bride, I was thrilled to find this podcast to help me with tips on my wedding planning journey. The more I started listening, the more I realized how repetitive it is. Every podcast shouts out Susan’s Services. Again, repetitive. Now lately 90% of episodes are available only for paid accounts. Website is very basic as well with zero info on it.

Ndunya963Feel so bad about this but…I’m so surprised by the high ratings of this show. I’m listening to a lot of wedding podcasts and this one is so full of fluff I have a hard time hearing any concrete advice. Extremely repetitive. Just because you rephrase the same sentiment it doesn’t mean you can share it 500 times. I almost want to run a transcript through ChatGPT and ask it to distill main points. I don’t think I’d find many. It’s awful.

Amira1290Best podcast for brides!I started listening to this podcast when I first got engaged. It was amazing because I learned so much in a short amount of time. I got engaged in feb. 2023 and I’m getting married in July! I needed all the help I could get and she made it relaxing which is incredible because wedding planning, for me atleast has been very stressful. I’m so grateful for the free advice and tips to make my upcoming wedding amazing and less stressful!

2023 bride! No advice no help at allThe podcast is so unbelievably general and basic there’s not a single tip. The only thing she talks about is going against the industry… but sometimes the industry does things because they know what are doing!! Absolutely not a single tip or piece of advice that as useful she talks about the goal of not being stressed and how amazing that would be.. without offering real ways to accomplish that. Go listen to “the BIG wedding planning podcast” for real advice!!!
-
Mags 88Not helpfulI’ve listened to 3 different episodes now since the titles sound exactly like what I’m looking for. Spends a ton of time on advertisements and telling you to go pay for her website. Gives almost no actual advise other than know your budget and DIY is cheaper. Didn’t need a podcast to tell me that
-
SaaaavvvvvvvvvvvvvvAMAZING PODCAST!Not only does Cara give amazing FREE insight on wedding planning dos and dont’s, but as a bride I wind down listening to her! She is so calming and fun. Highly recommend this podcast to anyone involved in a wedding your own or not!

LJajfjdjrorjfjcjcufshskfkAn AdThe episode I listened to was an advertisement. A 16 minute advertisement with no tips or information other than “buy my pdf!” I couldn’t reach my phone to turn it off and so I had to listen to the whole thing. Terrible.
-
Riah0803Not very helpfulI’ve tried a couple of times. The episode titles seem right up my alley but then every time I listen, the host just talks about other topics she’ll have an episode or blog post about…and never really dives into the topic at hand. I’m 16 minutes into a 26 minute episode and she’s just now finished step 1 regarding the episodes topic. That means the past 15 minutes have been nothing but filler.

dcCruise ladyWonderful resource for wedding planning. This podcast is great and makes you feel confident that you can plan a wedding. Great recourse and very well put together.
-
talloaksbandeeHelpful…if you’re ChristianI was really into this podcast until listening or a recent episode where it became very clear that she’s either not familiar or not inclusive of couples that aren’t Christian. “Traditional” doesn’t equal Christian, and someone who’s an expert should be more well versed in traditions from other faiths and cultures, not just Christianity.
-
mick101226Not for meI honestly didn’t find this podcast very helpful. There are others out there that have a LOT more valuable advice! I feel like the she’s just saying prioritize your budget and things you want over and over again which seems obvious. Also, the host talks super super slow with lots of pauses so I’m grateful that I was able to listen at a faster speed.
-
Jbonez65Not A FanA few episodes are helpful but there are plenty of more helpful podcasts out there! She constantly pushes for you to pay for her products/help and her website that she has to constantly repeat and spell out as if you are five years old. And the ads are god awful, they take a big portion of the actual episode. And the fact that she doesn’t usually give advice other than... I explained all of this on another episode that you can listen to on my website. You can do way better with other podcasts!
-
SofieLovesTacos310Helpful at firstIt was helpful in the beginning, and she seems like a lovely human. Though, I’m not learning anything new as the episodes progress. She’s not providing new advice or new resources.
-
jbendzickBeyond helpful!Kara is amazing and so knowledgeable with everything wedding related. I listened to an endless amount of episodes and they made me feel at ease and answered so many of my questions. True lifesaver, especially if you’re doing most of the planning yourself.
-
KirstenClrDelivers more than you could hopeKara does so amazing diving into the nitty gritty details and providing advice and options for everyone, no matter your budget, personal preferences, etc. She really thinks of everything and goes in-depth on topics other podcasts just brush over. Besides that, she has the most soothing voice and an open, ready-to-help attitude that makes you de-stress and climb out of the trenches of wedding planning to come up with a game plan and makes you confident to go back out and plan your perfect wedding with her insider knowledge in your pocket.

ttwo2I liked this a lot until the most recent episodeWill still listen, but I think today’s episode gave really distasteful advice. When the host said that having a cash bar at a wedding is not tacky, she really lost me. I am all for having a wedding you can actually afford and not go into debt over it, but if you can’t afford to provide any alcohol option for your guests, then you should have a dry wedding, significantly cut down your guest list, or elope. To have your guests pay for any portion of their evening, even if optional, IS tacky. I really hope people do not take that piece of advice she gave to heart.

terrik812Used to be goodMy initial thoughts on this podcast were great. It was one host who gave ACTUAL wedding planning advice. It was political banter, it wasn’t guests non-stop pushing their own products, it was just good advice. My only gripe before was she made it clear that she didn’t like big weddings, which is totally fine, I just wrapped my head around the advice and adjusted to fit my wedding. Now, it sounds almost cult-like. She goes on and on about being “aligned” when really she’s just pushing her own disgruntled thoughts and feelings about the wedding industry on her listeners.
-
slm2308What is this 20 minute redundant ad??I listen to a few of these sporadically and really enjoyed everything. I just listened to the episode for June 9, which was titled “the new way to plan your wedding” and labeled as being the first in a series about your alignment. It was the same exact message being repeated over and over and over again. I kept waiting for her to give me some kind a valuable information, but it was literally a 25 minute advertisement with the same music, and she’s just repeating herself over and over again as if she’s trying to convince me to pay her money for some secret magical trick. That was a huge waste of my time, annoying and obnoxious. I was really excited about finding a wedding podcast that’s just one person speaking in a straightforward way and not two people with endless banter or some other nonsense. This episode really threw me off though and made me question how much I want to take your advice.

tinydanseuseEverything you needKara’s podcast covers all the things you wouldn’t think to ask or plan for your big day! We have laughed and loved every topic she brings up. This has been SO helpful in helping us plan our wedding, and inspiring with the confidence to do something that is true to us. Thank you Kara, for sharing all this invaluable info in one space!

Natalie LorI listened to every available episode in 2 monthsThis podcast is so helpful and addicting to listen to. If you are someone like me and and are easily overwhelmed by everything that needs to get done, this podcast will calm a lot of your anxiety. I highly recommend for every engaged couple.
-
Tex617Good but not the bestI enjoy the show and find it helpful, but like the shows with a little more interaction between people and fun. The ads are also very long and take up almost half of the time it seems.
-
AliR PTA godsend!Thank you so much Kara for all of your helpful tips and tricks. My fiancé and I recently got engaged and I have been listening episodes for each phase of our wedding planning. Kara does an excellent job of streamlining wedding planning and keeping things simple. Thank you for making this a fun process and not a stressful one! I have referred my friends who are also engaged to this very helpful podcast. Virtual hugs and kisses!

Myuji!Kara is the bees kneesShe seems to me like just a kind soul. She’s real and follows a consistent path. It’s simply a good podcast. I would say ground breaking and amazing just solid good:)
-
Leona MorelockStock the BarI particularly enjoyed the stock the bar episode. I can relate to this so much as me and my husband had a beer and wine only bar.
-
SnazzdellaHelpful!I find this podcast very helpful! Especially when it comes to easing my anxiety about what is and isn’t “required” for a wedding. The host definitely challenges you to do things your way and simplify to make the planning process easier. My only bit of constructive criticism would be around the how often she tells people to google something or search Pinterest for ideas when listeners specifically ask for her opinion on something. I think all of us listeners know how to do those two things. I like it better when an actual suggestion is made rather than just a redirection to google something.
-
DSEichingermehI feel like the show doesn't really talk to men. Maybe its the host's communication style or maybe its my listening style.
-

-
LanaLang8LOVE "Earth-Friendly Wedding Ideas"Thank you for doing this! I learned so many tricks and will try my best to reduce my carbon footprint on my wedding day :) xoxo
-
khhjkkkkTakes so long to get to actual contentA recent episode had 8 minutes of talking about vault memberships and disclaimers before I got to any actual advice about wedding timelines. I’m not patient enough to wait that long to be told that I should plan ahead for my wedding day. Can look this stuff up at home in seconds.
-
lwtinderAwesome findThank you so much for this great resource! I have learned so much. Bingeing on all the episodes! I especially love the money saver ideas and things to avoid or don’t miss. 2 months until my daughter’s wedding! Better late than never!

-
JmukmhGood content, presentation could be betterShe has great advice but I wish she had more guests on instead of it just being her a majority of the episodes. Also I listen to this podcast at 1.5x speed because she speaks SO slowly.
-

-
pinneapplianaThis is greatI wish I had listened to this podcast sooner! I get married in 50 days (as of today) and I’ve started to feel overwhelmed with all the details, Pinterest boards, budget, etc! We’ve had a 7 month long engagement and this has been so lovely for my soul. It’s uplifted my attitude and made me feel happy to plan again cause I’ve been having analysis paralysis but I felt comforted and confident with the information that was given. (I listened to Splurge, Honeymoon Essentials, Last minute details)
