Amazing game reviews from Official IGN website

The brothership review is biased

I used to rely on EGM as a kid to help find the oddball good games that you don’t hear people talk about, and this has filled that void. Now I’m at least aware of some new games, even if I’m usually playing the games from five years ago that I’ve never gotten around to.

I don’t think it’s just IGN that has this problem, but games media as a whole. The writers are incredibly wordy and it tends to come off bad. Kind of as if they’re showing off their talent and putting that above the content matter itself. Eh. The lengthy paragraphs found online do NOT translate well to audio. Sentences are heavy with words and I grew incredibly bored rather quickly. It was like sitting through a lecture and listening to a professor I care nothing about. Short and punchy should do the trick in terms of audio reviews. Remember, this is Audible. I’m not listening to a book.

I usually like to check in on IGN reviews from time to time. The podcast makes doing that quick and easy. It isn’t much more than the audio form of their written reviews which can be found on the website, but there’s nothing wrong with that.

Interesting views on the industry, clearly passion filled for what they do, and surprising guest. Different from the norm, but a solid channel.

Announcer might want to get facts about the games correct and can pronounce words correctly.

Seems like they might be just reading the magazine.

I really love this idea and the convenience of it but the way it is presented is odd. The person speaking sounds like a robot. Its not easy to listen to. If it sounded more human and flowing I would have rated better.

No agenda here. They inform you about the game with great perspective. The good the bad. All of it. Thanks for not spinning it like so many other podcasts are doing!

What is the point of a review without a score? Or even saying good or great or bad would be enough. However i have no idea how important the good or bad things that are mentioned are reflected in the playing experience. Words can only do so much. I need an evaluation so i know where to spend my time. I won't even look at anything below great so stop kidding yourselves and put the score on there.

I love the convenience of this, on the road all the time for work so this works for me on days I can't stop and read an article.
