    Wishing for new episodes!!
So incredibly helpful for working through all of the issues that impact our lives. I am grateful for so many episodes but wish she made more episodes going forward!!!

    Timeless information
I found Dr. Ubell while listening to an older podcast of another show. One of my favorite things so far (25 episodes in) is how all of what she talks about applies to so many areas in our lives and not just to food. I’m now seeing more things as neutral facts and not getting swept up in my emotions. This podcast has helped me to lose weight and have better relationships with those interact with.

    Life-Changing and Inspiring Podcast
Katrina is absolutely amazing! Her teachings about thought work have completely transformed my life. After purchasing her book and listening to her podcast for the past few months, I feel like I’ve gained a wise and compassionate friend who always knows exactly what to say. Each episode feels like a meaningful conversation, full of insight and encouragement. Thanks to Katrina’s guidance, I’ve already lost 12 pounds—something I truly couldn’t have accomplished without her thoughtful approach. I love how practical, relatable, and motivating she is. I can’t recommend her podcast enough to anyone looking to improve their mindset, health, and overall life. She’s simply incredible!

    So helpful
I’m very grateful for this podcast. I’m sad it has stopped but learned so much over the years of listening of things to watch for in my thinking about food and life. She was the first coach I ever encountered and her work did so much positively for my life personally and professionally. I always appreciated her down to earth, non judgements podcasts. I wish her the best in future endeavors and want to express my appreciation for her work.

    Thank you!
I have been listening to your podcast for the past 4 months and have lost 25 pounds so far. I just finished episode 57 and felt compelled to tell you thank you for being such an amazing help and inspiration! Reflecting on the natural pleasures of being a doctor brought me to tears...thanks for speaking my mind so plainly in your podcasts and helping me understand my own thinking. ….I went to write a review after listening to your last episode. It turns out I had already started the above review and never hit send. I continued to listen and am grateful for your contribution to the world and my life. Best of luck with your French class and finding more joy!

5 stars for early podcasts, but losing steam
This podcast started out really great. I was a listener from the very beginning, and it helped me so much. Over the years the whole life coaching industry has become very toxic and her relationship with Brooke Castillo turned me off. It’s interesting that Katrina is retiring from life coaching. maybe the demand isn’t there anymore or regulations are starting to come down on this sneaky industry.

    Toxic and abusive workplace environment
I have worked for her, and the experience has been traumatic. I had no idea someone could be so abusive and horrible. She seems so lovely on the podcast, but it's an absolute nightmare inside her company. Her little co-star, the COO, is even more abusive; they thrive on seeing the coaches afraid and squirmy. They fired all the coaches, brought in a whole new group, and constantly threatened to let them go until 5-6 were fired out of nowhere! The marketing team was also continually afraid of losing their jobs, and a sense of superiority came through in every team meeting. Once, a coach asked for feedback on what the coaches were doing right, and the answer was: “Positive feedback has only one purpose, and that is to feed your ego. I’m not interested in feeding your ego; I want to ensure we have better coaches!” This is f-ed up! I’m still going through therapy to clean up this mess from working for this monster!

Why did I wait so long?!
Hi Katrina, I am embarrassed to say that I have been subscribed to your podcast for years, but never started listening until a few months ago. I think I initially heard about it in a social media group where you had rave reviews. However, it was not until the beginning of this year that I decided to start eating healthier through a program at my work and began listening to your podcast as a supplement. I started at episode one and I have now made it through the first 44 episodes. It has been so revolutionary to not only support my new lifestyle of healthier eating but has been so helpful in many other aspects of my life as well. I find myself talking to my husband about topics that you’ve discussed and have been recommending that he listen too, although he hasn’t started yet. Thank you so much for this life-changing information! I can’t believe I waited so long to listen to make these changes!

    my walking and recalibration go-to!
hi friend! 😉 i started listening to your roadmap series several months ago. when i got to the end of that, i decided to go to the beginning of the entire podcast and settle in for the next 300+! i love your very human and often humorous style as well as the very straightforward science and logic that underscore your approach. i had lost some weight prior to starting with you and this has been the trick to pare down the last few pounds. thank you! your insights on how the mind works have also been a beautiful complement to my mindfulness practice and yoga teaching. so much appreciation there too! hope you continue to do your show as long as it serves you! much respect and gratitude, harrilyn mills p.s. i had a heckuva time trying to figure out how to leave a review! now that i did, i wonder why i made it so hard 😂

    Makes so much sense-really works!
Every year my weight creeps higher and higher and I needed to do something about the 40 extra pounds. Nothing was working, even WW that worked before. Listening to Katrina on Audible she described exactly how I was feeling and what my body was going through. She makes so much sense and my weight is going down finally. I feel great and am managing my food and emotions. This is a “diet” I can live with the rest of my life.

    Busy people will love this!
This is a fantastic resource for any busy person who is struggling with their weight- parents, professionals, young people, mid-life people, and literally anyone who wants to live a more full life. Katrina has inspired me to do things I never thought I could, and to be “dedicated to the process of creating what I want until I have it.” I am so grateful to the friend who referred me to these podcasts, and to Katrina’s book, too!

    Great podcast to binge
I’ve recently started listening to this podcast from the beginning, and it is LIFE CHANGING! More than just weight loss. It’s making a huge difference in so many areas of my life! Thank you Katrina!!

Three weeks and 43 episodes in and loving it!
I’m not a physician. A friend of mine who is recommended this podcast to me. As a school administrator, I share a lot of the same struggles as doctors (but not all). This podcast has been the most influential weight loss tool I have ever come across. I’ve tried weight watchers a hundred times with varying levels of success, and have always struggled with my weight most of my adult life. I have already lost 11 lbs in three weeks and binge listen as many episodes per day as I can fit in. Katrina’s strategies along with her realistic style are so helpful in making true change. My mindset has changed in so many areas of my life as I have made the changes in my relationship with food. I look forward to continuing in this path to help me reach my goal of reaching my permanent healthy weight before I turn 40 (in 8 months). Thank you Katrina!

    Long term weight loss solutions!
I love how she explains everything in detail and even gives little examples and stories to really help you understand. She teaches you how to lose weight in a way that you can sustain what you lose. I just recently found the podcast after starting her book and decided to start with episode 1 and I’m so glad I did. Every episode builds on the last and each one provides such good info. Loving binge listening.

    This makes sense to me!
I’m not a physician, but I’ve been a nurse for over 30 years. One of my physicians actually recommended this to me when I told her that my weight loss struggle was about getting my head in the right place. I’ve heard these concepts before about intuitive, eating and journaling, but I appreciate the next level of science that Katrina adds. She’s very relatable to listen to end. This podcast has been super helpful for me.
  • OGIrish
Solid advice I can actually use
My sister-in-law suggested this podcast to me. I have listen to seven episodes in three days and I’m starting to implement the suggestions which are easy. Time will tell if it works! But I’m actually really enjoying listening and it makes sense.

    The Missing Link
Wow. I thought I'd finally run out of options. I've been in the grip of food chatter and weight creep for nearly 30 years. In the last 2, rather than be ’ble to claw my way back down, I’ve inste’d crept up 10 lbs, not able to make a dent. I thought my opt’ons were simply to accept it, to try nauseating medications, or deal with chronic hunger pangs. I’m only 2 weeks in and have lost 6 lbs. This feels like a fantasy existence where I respond to my hunger, am not constantly tempted to overeat, and am still losing weight. I have so much work to do with my thinking but the tools are laid to close my thinking gaps. One of my biggest disappointments with the medical field and with myself has been in this area, and it is with so much gratitude that I deliver this fan-review.

    Longest intro
I like the information but, please! GET TO THE POINT!!! I’m always 12 minutes into each episode. Exhibit A: the most recent episode, already about 12 minutes in and you’re talking about being on a walk with your warm drink in a to-go cup with your dog, who is cute but not obedient, but you’re trying to be a better dog mom and get him outside even though you just had your yard redone, for a hot tub etc. etc. I still haven’t figured out what the point of this long anecdote is! You’ve completely lost me.
  • Family 37
    Love this information
Great starting place for recognizing one’s relationship to food and learning there is room to change it if needed. I would love a podcast addressing neurodivergent thinkers and how different the thinking might be for the weight loss process. This came to mind when listening to one of the podcast talking about retraining our brains and how exhausting it would be to think about every decision we make during the day. With some divergent brains making so many decisions a day is a reality and leads to extra exhaustion during the day. Just wondering if there are tips for those of us who face this challenge.

Tried everything, finally have hope of permanently losing weight!
Even after gastric bypass, regained all 200 lbs plus 32 more pounds! Finally getting to the necessary brain work and trauma healing. Even rethinking trauma through monkey bar model. Thank you!

I’m hooked- thank you for this podcast!
This podcast is amazing- each episode has insights that cause “ah ha” moments for me. I’m not a physician, but I’m married to one (my daughter’s first phrase was “uh oh pager!” ) and I’m a working mama so this still really resonates with me and applies to my life. I’m so thankful to have found this.

    Good info but..
Katrina has some great info but there’s so much fluff in every episode. At least 5-10 minutes of useless small talk in every episode.

This Podcast is Hope I Can Overcome My Unhealthy Relationship with Food!!
I stated this Podcast and quickly bought Dr. Udell’s book. I have started reading the book and am listening to the podcasts, pacing myself to take notes and really think about all of his information. I understand the process is long-term and requires lifestyle change and this is what I know I need to do. I love the real life advice, the self-accountability and focus on self-empathy. On top of all of that, I really appreciate the method of observation of your own behaviors from a place of curiosity so you can actually see what is going on and then address the why’s. I am hopeful I can make this a part of my life and use these techniques in other areas of my life as well. I am so tired of the constant food conversation battles in my head! Thank you Dr. Udell!

    Life altering podcast
I have never, ever listened to a podcast before, primarily because I typically find the presenters to be self important and, quite frankly, irritating. I started listening to you at the recommendation of a friend of mine, and am surprisingly hooked! Your podcast is about so much more than just weight loss, it is about making your life and relationships more satisfying. I enjoy your self deprecating manner, and find myself relating to many of your introvert insights. I read the obesity code and your book as recommended, and have started intermittent fasting and becoming fat adapted. I feel so much better, and have lost 5 lbs in the last month. (This is from someone whose set point weight is inscribed in granite:). Looking to lose 10 more by following your model. Thank you so much, keep up the great work!

More than just a weight loss podcast
Great tips for living a healthier lifestyle—physically, emotionally, and spiritually! Many pearls of wisdom and reminders for our busy lives.

One of the best!! Hands down!!
Katrina - A friend and a fellow PMG mom recommended your show to me as I was struggling to lose some post partum weight. The stress of work, kiddos and life just didn’t put me in the mindset to lose weight and I sort of felt lost at sea without a sense of direction! Your podcast was the game changer. It made me focused, calm, and it was my compass to losing weight. I absolutely love listening to you on my drive to work. I have told my colleagues about it. It’s not just for weight loss, it’s really a mindfulness exercise. Thank you for doing this! So glad to have bumped into your work! This is the best podcast hands down!!

    The best!
I stumbled upon this podcast after yoyo dieting and trying every new fad, for most of my adult life. I have finally found the key to success and it’s NOT all about what foods I eat. Who knew?! Thank you Katrina for helping me understand my thoughts and feelings around food. I’ve lost 20 pounds and am halfway to my goal weight. My biggest success so far was navigating the holidays without gaining anything! So happy to have found this!

On point , the only way for weight loss moving forward
I started listening to the podcasts last summer and I immediately became hooked. I’ve battled the pregnancy weight (which I can’t call it that four plus years later), for so long and been chronically disappointed in not meeting my goals. With the tools in this podcast I have started changing little things at a time to achieve my long term weight loss goals, finally seeing results when I have been unsuccessful so many times before. I’m so thankful for this podcast and all the wealth of knowledge from Katrina! I’m a busy mom balancing motherhood, family life with working full time in the medical field. Finding a connection with these concepts has changed me and changed how I view all of my challenges and achievements. Thank you so much Katrina!

    Life changing
I just started listening a few weeks ago and I’m on episode 55 but honestly I feel like this podcast has completely changed my mindset already. Am not a physician, I’m a school psychologist, so you would think that I would already know all this stuff but the way Katrina delivers the message makes it so relatable and practical. I now I feel so capable of changing my thoughts and feelings, my body, and my lifestyle. I can’t wait to see what changes I make this coming year and for the first time in my life I can see my self losing the weight forever. I can’t recommend this enough and I have told everyone I know about it. Thank you!

    Not A Doctor
Hi Katrina! I heard your conversation with Corinne Crabtree on her podcast and knew I needed to hear more. I’m an educational administrator, along with many other titles and have struggled with my weight for years. I’m devouring and applying your teachings to all areas of my life. I love how you give us some data and research, and then real world examples, without getting too heavy on the the “science”. I also truly appreciate that you make the full transcripts available. I listen during my commute and cannot tell you how many times I have gone back to the transcript to take some notes and process the concept. Also got your book and have been reading a few pages each night….instead of scroll on my phone!!

Feeds my Learner & Input Strengths!
I ran into Katrina’s podcast while listening to Corrine Crabtree who really got me started. I began binging back episodes and purchased her new book on Audible. Weight Loss for Busy Physicians has resonated with me in ways that I have not experienced before on other podcasts and gives me a little more technical explanation that really makes me think. Give me a few weeks and I’ll get through all 300 episodes.
  • Shannon Coulter
    Harmful, unscientific advice.
I subscribed to this podcast out of curiosity and was surprised that Dr. Ubell routinely tells her listeners to ignore hunger signals and skip meals — behavior that has been scientifically linked to eating disorders and long term weight gain. I hope she takes a step back and considers that shows like this one are a part of a larger harmful diet culture that irresponsibly puts all the emphasis on individual behavior instead of balancing that with big picture things that support health like access to affordable fresh food, access to low cost medical care, and access to walkable neighborhoods and public spaces. Doctors have a moral obligation to understand these big picture factors and to talk about them if they’re truly interested in human wellness. Unfortunately this podcast is not that. At its core, Weight Loss for Busy Physicians asks us to buy into yet more fantasies of self control...as well as dysfunctional, disproven strategies that are likely to lead to weight gain.

    Amazing information and value… But…
I absolutely love Katrina‘s message. She is wise, funny, and really understands the process and the method for permanent weight loss. Changing your thinking is everything and she is a gift to those of us trying to master it. But. In a 24 minute podcast, having fully 11 minutes - or more - be dedicated to promoting her own coaching groups and business - while I understand it - makes this podcast frustrating to listen to. I start it, then have to fast forward to nearly halfway through to get to the gems hidden in all that self-promotion. Don’t get me wrong, I believe that this woman can help people. Absolutely go to her website. Absolutely enjoy her private coaching groups. She is telling people exactly what they need to hear. But for a public podcast, it just feels way too much like an exercise in selling. Maybe a minute or two at the beginning and end… but at the moment her “talk for 10 minutes about my paid services” before starting is enough to make it really annoying.

    Just what I needed!
Hi Katrina! I recently found you through my coach, Laura Conley. I started listening to you with episode 1 and I've kept listening non-stop! Your suggestions of "no snacking" and "include good fat" were the keys to getting over my weight-loss plateau. The scale is finally dropping again. Thank you!!! Plus, it is so fun to hear so many Laura's lessons, but retold in a slightly different way. Each of your episode helps me strengthen my new way of thinking about food and my body. Thank you for this podcast!
  • windozestinx
    Huh???
Shaking my head over the recent review stating this podcast is full of negative statements, & the reviewer’s’ assertion that Dr Ubell stated “You don’t deserve success.” This is patently ridiculous. The proof is in the scores of reviewers so relieved, validated, & encouraged by the podcast—-reviewers who found the overall message empowering and liberating. I’m beginning to find, finally “peace and freedom around food” and even slowly losing weight following the simple, sensible, brain-science-based podcast. Yes, she was excited about her book release, & maybe overshared. Or maybe the reviewer wasn’t ready for a change.
  • branychik
    This changed my life!
So glad a colleague recommended Katrina’s podcast! I ended up joining her program and it is literally life-changing, and not just about losing the weight, though that was a big deal. I decided to keep going in the program so that this could truly be the last time I lost this weight. By managing my thoughts and emotions, I have created a much better life than what I have had up to this point. Not just wright loss, but deciding how to get what I need out of my job, maintaining personal boundaries to enjoy my life more, and so many other things. Katrina is down to earth and easy to follow and gives great practical advice. You can tell she has a passion for helping others figure out how to achieve peace and freedom around food. Consider also getting her book, “How to Lose Weight for the Last Time”, which just came out. I enjoy listening to her podcasts when I am in the car and have Siri text me the points I want to remember.
