BF in TXRealistic and RelevantI’m a new triathlete in my 50s. I’ve been a runner Half and Full marathon runner for a number of years. I discovered the podcast and swim foundations in 2021 when I decided to do my first Sprint distance. Unfortunately a major shoulder injury on the bike forced me to postpone until 2022. The materials and content on Heart Rate Zone training helped me get back in a healthy and manageable way in 2022. I finished my first Sprint Tri in Aug 2022 and ran my strongest marathon in December 2022. I attribute this to the content from the podcast. While other reviews call out being put off by the ads or trying to promote the training app, I am ok with that green that Taren is also an entrepreneur. I admire that he’s seeking to differentiate his offering for us new to the sport. Specifically, the March 10 & 17 episodes tackled barriers to entry to triathlon head-on and helped us age-groupers understand what should or should not be the priority when starting in triathlon. You have a faithful listener and Mottivator here. Keep it up!

JlemSBRToo much of an advertisementToo many episodes are advertisements for their training app.

JokeofagameDon’t discuss drinking and swimming in your puke.Horrible start to your last podcast. Bad form, Taren, to discuss how you had 100 drinks over 4 days and swam in a pool in your own puke. I hung with you through your image issues during Covid. But I’m out now. You act like you’re too much of an expert when you’re not. Unsubscribing after finishing this review.

Jono BardRegaining its footingLong time listener and happy to see it starting to get back to the basics and back on track. I think the addition of a British accent is also lovely. Keep doing what you are doing!

NoWeighDocSpot onI am a healthcare provider in my 50s and more recently novice triathlete since 2019. Found Taren in 2020 and listen to his podcasts and watch his YouTube videos. I have thoroughly enjoyed and been well served by his content and advice and appreciate his positivity. The experts he has on podcasts and their conversations have helped me learn and improve in triathlon and more importantly I have gleaned info that has helped me better care for my patients (sleep, nutrition, exercise, slow weight loss, etc). His insights are spot on and based in science and studies and I agree with and promote the same balanced mind, body, and spirit approach to life. Highly recommend to anyone wanting to improve their health and endurance sport performance while seeking longevity in whatever activities peak their interest !

Dongman310NarcissistLoves to talk about his endurance swim, curling, and one and only IM distance race … all the time. Cringy.

Sweeper4444Don’t Need To Crush ItI’ve listened now for several years and watched many of the videos. I’ve done dozens of marathons and then into ultras then triathlon. But I am not elite and chasing those who are leads to frustration and injury. I appreciate the new direction. I love to hear the elites and their plans but surprisingly Garmin doesn’t want to sponsor me so I listen more for enjoyment and respect. Over training lead to an injury in 2019 that still impacts me today. It took me a long time to get back to just mediocre. I’m ok with that. Hearing about amateurs putting in 20+hour weeks doesn’t make me want to do that it makes me want to find a better way. Thanks for opening to door to the conversation.

pretty good but not greatNew favorite podcastI love listening on the long rides and runs. The content is great for a beginner like me. I appreciate the deep dive discussions on nutrition and techniques from the pros. I especially liked the James Nestor interview. I purchased the Breathe audiobook after that episode. And the “Everything Women Need to Know...” was great!
-
runwithmeMaking it easier to understandSit back and relax while Taren and NTK guide you through effective endurance training.
-
mcfletch<3 the variety. Need to improve question askingGreat variety of content here; I’d suggest asking more questions to your guests instead of imposing an answer at them to which you want them to respond to.
-

-
hectortheprotectorfromdaytonReal People / Actionable AdviceI just completed my first super sprint triathlon. My goal was simply to finish. I learned more that I needed from Taren’s down-to-earth, advice than from everyone else combined. MM
-
ghargharGood guestsGreat timely guests. Taren needs to talk less about himself and his shuffle board experience and stop interrupting Kim. She has great open ended questions that gets the guests rolling.
-
Heike NBest Zwift Training CompanionI really like to listen to Triathlon Taren, NTK and their guests. I’m not only enjoying the training tips and shared knowledge around everything Triathlon, but also the insight into motivations, life styles and experiences of the guests. d0ub13 aVery Amazing and InspirationalI really enjoy watching Taren on YouTube, so when I heard he had a podcast I had to listen to it from start to finish. Every episode has something almost everyone can take away. Taren and NTK inspired me to try training and competing for triathlons and try to start podcasting as well! Thank you Taren and NTK!

Visc@B@rc@1InconsistentMr. Gessell has improved as an interviewer and his self-effacing style is easy to listen to. The pod can get good guests but his wife ruins the vibe.

kcc-mplsGreat insights and knowledge from the best in TriathlonI’ve been watching Taren’s YouTube videos for a long time but only recently started listening to the podcasts. They are amazing! The people he and Kim interview are truly experts in their fields and the insight they share is really helpful and entertaining too. Looks like I have a lot of catching up to do and will be listening to their podcasts religiously going forward!

lk74#Go to source for triathlon trainingTaren and NTK’s podcast have come the go to source for triathlon training, health, endurance and education. The amount of work put into each show is incredible. The duo take a seeming non-complicated sport - explain how it’s far more involved than you think it is, then take all that information and boil it back down into simple, easy to understand concepts that make it - well they uncomplicate the science and technology behind how to be a better triathlete. Thanks for all you both do!
-
FuncupcakesMaking the complicated a little more digestible...Very helpful and informative. Coach Taren takes some very complicated subjects and breaks them down nicely. Adding this to my 2020 training plan!
-
PodTinkGood show for the gear and techniqueI love Triathlon Taren’s and NTK’s enthusiasm for the sport. Taren approaches his content based on his own development and interests in triathlon which makes for good shows as he takes us along for the ride. As such, my only complaint is that everything is seen from a male perspective of the sport so the specific needs of female athletes gets left behind. NTK asks really good questions during interviews but she can’t tell female athletes how to pick the best bike seat or how to adjust Taren’s nutrition advice to suit female requirements (we’re not small men). It’s just a limitation of the show, still love the content regardless!
-
