NTT ShowbizLook Out HollywoodThis story was mildly entertaining, despite the pervasive feeling that you were caught in the middle of a creative writing student’s early attempts at descriptive story telling. That sensation only gets worse at the start of season three. The last straw, however, was the Tarantino-esque smut that comes out of nowhere, for absolutely no reason. And, all of this coming from the great minds at the Daily Wire who claim to be setting a nobler standard while fighting against the garbage that Hollywood forces on everyone. Might want to look in the mirror guys because it seems to me like you’re putting out the same level of moral depravity, just with lower production value.

Brad2TheBon3Stop what you’re doing and listenThis is such an amazing book. Klavan has outdone himself with this one. It’s constant keeping you on you’re toes and keeps you wondering what’ll happen at each pass of the vail. You won’t be disappointed, I can guarantee that.

no1loljkColorREDLove it so hard!I watched version narrated by someone knowles and it’s got such rad animation and the voice actor is so good. It’s better than the Harry Potter acted out audio book!! I feel like… it’s just good stuff!!!

JAMcReaderSeason 1?I don’t want a recap. How do I find season 1? I’ll change my review if that’s available.

AllyCATisFuNDoes it have to be this vulgar?I really wanted to sit down and enjoy this, and the story itself, while simplistic, is enjoyable. However, I feel like there’s just 10 million bad words in it and it is always ruining my experience. It just genuinely makes this so uncomfortable. If you’re sensitive, like I am, this is most definitely not for you, this story is not worth sitting through. However, if you genuinely don’t mind it, then maybe you could enjoy this. Good for you.

Mccool_54Loved it until the 3rd seasonThis was amazing up until season 3. I just really felt like it was an unfulfilled finish. It was too quick to wrap up a bunch of loose ends. And everyone got their happy ending. It was very much a ‘then I woke up’ kind of ending. It left me wanting more depth.

Shr11mpLegendary.If this doesn’t become a show or a movie or something, I will be SO upset.

LlegsBest Covid distraction out thereAnother kingdom has been absolutely indispensable to me during the Covid pandemic every single day feels like Groundhog Day and I’ve read every story book in the house 85 times. Another kingdom is a story just for me that I have going in my earbud taking me away from the repetitiveness because Sometimes you just need a story for the adult imagination to help get you through strange times.

TcatRNSeason 1...??I would love to listen to this podcast but where is season one?? Save THE Klavan!

OB ReidModern Setting of Lord of the RingsDefiantly for adults not in its graphicness but in its imagery. This is a fairy tale of an adult world and it’s desires and dangers. Very good imagery and allegory of the world we live in and the constant fight to discover and hold on to our souls. Painted in a far away world where it turns out isn’t so far away after all. After all imagination is just another perception of the world around us. Told well and it turns out to be a very good guide to the world we now reside.

hank the cowdogFast pacedWould make a good movie or video game.
-
BRogers101To most one star reviewsI believe most people complaining about the protagonists lack of depth and whimsical start are not going far enough into the story. Complaining about escaping into another world but Both worlds hold dangers. Unless you just didn’t listen far enough.
-
badal38257Who is this written for?The story is too whimsical for 30 somethings like me but sprinkled with too much foul language to let the kiddos listen.
-
Golden95Fast Paced and EntertainingThis story is creative and lively. Austin finds himself pursued by dangerous creatures and characters in the weird and wild lands of Galiana and Hollywood. Don’t listen out loud with kids, this tale is intended for mature listeners.
-
Alexander PlattelUnbelievably GoodThis story is absolutely incredible. 10/10 would recommend. Enchanting story. Inspirational character development. Vivid imagery. You will not be disappointed!

XenosaratA firstThis is the first audio book I have listened to and nearly screamed when I got to the end.... hooked with a TBC ending. I will be anxiously awaiting season 2 & 3. If someone can turn this into a TV show/movie and remain true to the story, it will be a hit. Update: I have waited for and delighted in seasons 2 and 3. I own book 1, pre-ordered book 2, and await book 3. If a video retaining the podcast's wit and flavor is made, I'll be getting that too.

J-dogg8777I get itAfter three years of getting to know Drew and Knowles, the emotion I felt after listening to this story was unexpected and joyous. The meaning behind it all is clear to me, at least my take on it and it is positive, and most importantly, Hopeful. Thank You for the years of logic and heart and keep making great stories.

Joe A HThe best story I have ever read!!!After having read the book while in a hospital I decided the pick up the podcast after I discharged. Upon hearing the full story I am convinced that nothing short of a divine inspiration could have allowed such truth to be told in such a brilliant and stunning way. Andrew Klavan truly has a gift for writing and has masterfully used a divine idea to write a beautiful story
-
Joel153836PerfectWhat an amazing story, and expertly told.
-
hbbjydsshnkufddGreat audio book.Would make a pretty good movie. Enjoyed listening to it.
-
James GHBest Audio DramaThe story keeps you waiting with bated breathe in every episode. The tale fully captures the old feel of romantic Medieval tales with the mixture of modern corruption and Hollywood ilk. Give it a binge listen.

joesheeba2000MoreI need more of this in my life! Wonderful story and acting!
-
QlassyWOWPowerful ending to an amazing story. Divine intervention indeed. Thanks Andrew Klavan and Michael Knowles for telling the story of Another World.

Boomer Joe 44One of the best stories you could hear!Absolutely love this series! Andrew Klavan (no “e’s” in Klavan...wrote an awesome story! Well worth the listen. Last season is the best! Please listen and share “Another Kingdom”. Would love to see it as a television show.

sk893Masterfully written and performedAs a huge lover of fantasy, this series appeals on many levels, But even more-so because it is such a great commentary on our current times. I was so sad that it was done...can’t wait to read the books also but, I will always hear it in my head as Michael Knowles performed it. :) Excellent work Klavan and Knowles!
-
RebYossiIncredible! This is the best story I’ve ever heard. So full of meaning and truth. Considering buying the hardcover.

hell with libtardsGreat showSeason 1 is very good 2 reasons 1 It has 13 episodes with each of them an acceptable length with enough drama so your not bored And second the story arc is amazing and the plot interlocking between danger in both the real world and the world of galiana is done very nicely 4.5/5 Season 2 very well done While this season is very different from season one in that there is an hour and a half less content it still works quite neatly with the problems of his earth life and life in the eleven lands making it scary just to walk thru another door. One critique I would say is that it’s almost all action for basically 9 episodes straight without any real rest for our hero to consider his options as he is always being hunted constantly in both worlds. Still has great story plot and character arc. 5/5 Season 3 reserving judgment until the end but so far episodes have been annoying long winded and backfilled with a lot of unnecessary info also I hate that he is a coward in the first three episodes like come on dude Okie I’m back now after the end of season 3 tbh if I had to rate another kingdom I give it 4.5/5 the season break down goes as 4.5/5 for season 1 which does an excellent job of weaving in plot lines in between the two worlds even tho it gets a bit tedious at the end Season 2 was my favorite for a couple of reasons I give it a 5/5 because it’s just about the right length (season1 and 3 are to long) has amazing transitions between worlds and the cliffhangers are amazing and it also doesn’t leave any loose ends like season 3. for season 3 I give a 4/5 because it was to long and klavan tried to fit to much into it (would have been better to split into 2 seasons at 10 episodes and then split to next season) Also not only was there to much info in season 3 and yet so much of the info went unfinished especially in the ending And there we go overall great series highly recommend listening just remember there is some swearing in the episodes if you have kids and some sexual scenes in both season 1 episodes 8&9 and season 3 episode 1 Great job Andrew klavan
-
Macy RobExcellentExcellent, excellent, excellent. Excellent conclusion to a story full of thrills, twists, and truth. Well done, Klavan, Master of Words

Dadeo.BEmperor modeWhat a plot twist. I so totally did not see that coming!
-
ericftpSuperb. Hard to stop listening. My wife was glad when I finished! This series is so well written and preformed that you won’t want to put it down. My only wish is that it didn’t contain so many four letter words. I’m really like my kids to hear the story and message behind it, but perhaps when they get of high school age.
-
Marmot AlaskanI’m addicted!!!This is sooooo good! Knowles is a very good story teller, and Klavan is a very good story writer! Oh, my goodness this is good. I can’t put this story down. I went to the beginning and started from there.

FtyshadesofJayAnother lucky encounterAnother lie, magic be damned I have luck in my side, I’m a coward and can run away to another world when people try and kill me, These are all alternative names that capture the pure essence of the show. The show feels like a lie completely forced with a genuinely unlikeable protagonist unbelievable love interest overall poor character design. Really poor showing from Klavan here. The protagonist, Austin lively, has no spine, has no skill, and offers nothing to the story besides a placeholder hero that escapes death once every chapter purely through coincidence. It’s cringey how many straws are grasped at here. I should have said no to this one.... I didn’t say no,.... I didn’t.... say.... no.... And I really wish I would have

Terri A MLove this episodic adventure!Found out about this amazing adventure through Klavan’s other podcast and wonder what else is running around in his mind. Absolutely engaging fun and smartly executed crime drama meets fantasy.

CE CrashesProcrastinated ListeningAfter starting season 2 I now wonder why I waited so long. Entertaining and fun listen.

LifeGivingMarriageAnother KingdomThis is an amazing story, fun and interesting.
-
Eamon-atorRiveting!I am half way though season 3 and it has been a thrill ride! Michael Knowles does a fantastic job of narrating the story. Each episode has me on the edge of my seat!
-
AloharodStable GeniousWorth every second... gets better by the minute Getting better and better
-
BillstoNot as entertainingSeasons 1&2 were a bit more entertaining, season 3 is more focused on the writer choosing descriptors to describe the descriptions described. Reiteration at its best.

Original LanguageFFF (Fabulously Fantastic Fantasy)It was a foggy morning drive... the inversion soaking cold wet chill in this Rocky Mountain valley. Where was I? As I got closer to the intersection, I desperately scanned all my surroundings and quickly switched lanes to get back onto my route. No problem; it was only about half a mile to get back on track. I was listening to Another Kingdom, and literally oblivious to where I was! Next thing I knew, my eyes took in my surroundings to realize I was headed in the wrong direction again. It was like my eyes opened up and I had no idea where I was. I’m not much into fantasy, but I was in a different world while my body was driving. And there are no EEs in Klavan, and Epstein didn’t kill him self.

Ms. WolfyIsekai by an Conservative BoomerI LOVE this story. It’s a fantastical tale of a failed Hollywood screenwriter who gets sucked into a magical world where he is the hero—but the themes elevate it from typical genre stories. You may recognize Klavan’s commentary on modern issues but it’s so subtle that most of the time you’ll just be caught up in the narrative. I also pause it many times just to appreciate the writing—very clever! My only complaint is I need to subscribe to listen to Season 1!
-
CGLymanLaugh out loud. The story is very clever. Austin is hilarious. Klavan has a magical imagination. I really like Knowls’s narration too. I will be sad when it’s over.
-
DchmthJust amazing!Keeps you on the edge of your seat, and you can’t wait for the next episode to drop. Love it!
-
jergreg5texasThat’s how you cliffhangWhoa! I literally yelled,”Come at me bro!” at the end of episode 9, as I am sure most red blooded, freedom loving, little brothers did. This is a awesome series.
-
ChuckWhitleyIt's like a master class of what NOT to do in writingI couldn't even get through the first episode. After seven minutes in, I was done. At one point he describes a creature's claws as "swift, sharp, and DAGGERY". Yes, that's right, "daggery".
-
mlnjthmpsSeason 3 is AWESOMEThis is by far the best season and what makes it so intriguing is the parallels of power and corruption that are playing out in our daily headlines. I don’t typically like the fantasy genre for the exception of a handful of series but this really is fantastic!!!

Flan LlamaI have a hunch...First off, can we all agree that the monster descriptions are at another level? I have no idea where Klavan gets these mental pictures, but they are both amazing and incredibly disturbing. Love the production value [obligatory compliment to Knowles] as well as the insight into the hard and dirty business Hollywood is. As the third season progresses, I can’t help but feel that another level of depth is assembling from various small hints throughout all the seasons. If that is the case, this work will exceed (in my opinion) the art in Klavan’s “Werewolf Cop” (poorly titled; expertly written). Even if that is not the case, the trilogy still stands alone in its genre, and Klavan deserves the literary prizes that much less talented (but woke) authors will inevitably receive.
