Best podcast about SpainConvinced me to move to SpainPaul Burge has the best podcast on Spain and I’ve listened to quite a few. His shows are informative, entertaining and inspirational. I encourage all to subscribe and donate if possible so we can keep listening for years to come. My wife and I were considering moving to Spain to retire and after I listened to the first couple of years worth of episodes I made the decision that yes, I am definitely moving there in a few years. My wife is European so it didn’t take much to convince her as well! So Paul, when I get there I will visit Madrid and buy you a few canes of beer, or 12, 13… ¡Hasta luego!

Mike CamsWhen in SpainSorry to provide negative feedback but…. My family is traveling to Spain in a few days. I’m 22 minutes into the podcast and have learned absolutely nothing. ‘ if you’re going to Spain, head to Madrid and Barcelona and see which one you like more’- Unfortunately, I can’t waste anymore time waiting to see if there’s something worthwhile.

FootelooseCome to Spain!I started listening to this podcast just before my third Camino de Santiago. I wanted to dig to another level of “what to see/what to do” in Spain during my downtime. I have gotten what I had hoped for and more, from this podcast. Although audio, the words are descriptive and give a solid picture of travel in Spain. They show the time and care given to creating this podcast. The suggestions of what to do/not do, align with my (limited) experiences so I have come to trust this advice. I can’t imagine what goes into creating this podcast - although I am disappointed that the podcasts are somewhat sporadic, I gladly wait for any new ones and re-listen to old one (which are new to me!). Thank you for putting this podcast together, I think it is excellent. I recommend it to anyone considering a visit to Europe.

Missouri MouseAbsolutely wonderful information about Spain by a very good hostI discovered this podcast while preparing for my first trip to Spain. The information Paul provides is very thorough, but easily understandable and useful in preparing for the trip.

AubmtInspiration for my first trip to SpainI devoured almost every episode of this podcast before my first trip to Spain last spring and it was by far the best preparation/inspiration for my trip!! Better than any guide book out there. I was able to start immersing myself in the culture and spirit of Spain before the trip and I appreciated it all so much more while I was there. Thank you for putting out this content! I’m so excited you’re going to be adding new episodes 😊 Getting excited to start planning my next Spanish adventure!

David E.Excellent Podcast - Addictive!I started listening to Paul’s podcast a couple of weeks ago and now I’m addicted. I’m quickly catching up on all the past episodes. So much excellent information with the perfect mix of seriousness, honesty and humor.

glo347Wonderful podcastLove this podcast. I will donate on Patreon! I have gotten so many tips on travel, food, culture , I can’t thank you enough. I’ll be in Madrid and Seville next week and I have been listening to the podcast non-stop, not only for the education, but also because I find it so enjoyable and relaxing to listen- it’s a wonderful tribute to Spain and its culture. I’ve bought a couple of the books recommended on history as well. Love the enthusiasm and deep respect for the culture and people and the wide array of knowledge provided by the lovely host and his varied guests. Thank you !

juh adeLiquid goldLoved the EP liquid gold. I have a trip scheduled for July. This was delightful. I’m so excited but can not allow myself to get to excited because I don’t know if it will happen. How has the rollout been in Spain of the vaccine? Thank for your passion and excellence

travelerhbSights and sounds of SpainPaul is very passionate about Spain and very dedicated to his listeners. He researches each topic or guest thoroughly and shares that knowledge with us in his interesting and informative episodes. He produces a nice mix of experiential episodes - taking us on excursions around Madrid and other cities in Spain and sharing with us the sights and sounds - and episodes with guest speakers who tell us about Spanish history, culture, politics, food - you name it. I really enjoy this podcast and through the guest speakers on this podcast I have also been introduced to other podcasts, Facebook groups, authors and websites about Spain and travel that I enjoy as well.

BrasspigLo MejorIf you want to know more about Spanish culture and see everyday life through the eyes of a wonderful interpreter, this is the podcast for you. Although it seems as though the producer is from Spain because of his vast knowledge of the country and its culture, he can also speak to the differences between Spain and the UK. Very interesting! I am educated well-prepared for my second trip to this beautiful country after listening to all the episodes of this podcast.

learn_everydayInterestingI love to listen to this while doing Spanish Homework. Great work!

Aria05Excellent!This is a great podcast! I wish I had found it long be fore now! I’ll definitely be checking out the archives. Paul’s part 1 of his interview with William Chislett is very informative and was quite well done. Can’t wait for Part 2. Highly recommended!

Marina BuffinaExcellent Podcast For Spain LoversLove Paul’s podcast! It is a wonderful distraction from the current world situation. Interesting and valuable information for Spain lovers and for those who wish to live in Spain. Listen...you won’t regret it!
-
dabneygNext best thing to being thereI’ve been pining for a return trip to Spain (and a move there, to be honest) but that’s not possible given the pandemic. This podcast not only gives me a little virtual escape to Spain but insight into what life is like there. So excited to discover this podcast and the deep well of listening that it offers. Muchísimas gracias!

LadyBBHBrings back happy memoriesI love this podcast! A few months ago I started looking for Spanish travel podcasts to mentally transport myself back to my vacation to Spain this last summer. Now that we are physically unable to travel anywhere, this podcast is an escapist fantasy. Paul is a great host and it feels like I am almost there when I listen to him narrate each episode. Spain is still a (relatively) unspoiled country, and filled with so much wonder! Can’t wait to return with this podcast as a guide.
-
marshmallow_sodaInformative and entertaining - my favorite podcast!Paul Burge is a delight to listen to and he offers a wealth of information about Spain on a variety of topics. There is something for everyone: culture, history, walking tours and interviews, the arts, super "how-to" guides. With every episode, I learn something new about the beautiful country of Spain. This podcast is excellent for people who just want to be entertained or who want to learn more about Spain specifically and anyone who plans on visiting or moving there in the future.

LaRubia12Transports me to SpainThis podcast has great information about Spain whether you are looking to travel or move there. It highlights many features of Spanish culture and language that are fun to learn more about, even if you feel you are already fairly familiar with the country. Paul has some wonderful guests come on the show to share their experiences living and working in Spain. A great listen that transports you to the land of tapas, flamenco, and the siesta. If you aren’t already planning to go, my guess is you will be soon!
-
hippotiiOne of my favorites!Such interesting information, entertaining topics, and an awesome host. I highly recommend this gem of a podcast if you love Spain like I do!
-
halleteClosest thing to being in SpainWhen I’m missing Spain, I listen to an episode and I’m transported there. A variety of themes that are never dull.

BT Delaware USAInformative and EntertainingFound the podcast before a trip to Madrid. It got me excited for my trip and now enjoy it for the information on Spain.
-
dbertram1Paul answers the questions that you didn’t even know you had!Paul offers a wide array of Spanish related topics. Audience members who are considering living abroad in Spain will find this a gold mind of valuable information. I found myself listing and Paul answered questions that I didn’t even realized that I had. This podcast may also interest anyone who intends on visiting Spain, or who just have a general interest int he country. My only offer for some constructive criticism would be that Paul’s input of a request for patreon support can be a bit lengthy (sometimes 2-4 minutes) and if I was a new listener it may turn me off to hear this request for a substantial amount of time prior to hearing any content. It may entice listeners to you to place the patreon request at the end of the episode. Either way I’m hooked and this is one of my top podcast to listen too! :)
-
so_fresh_n_kristineGreat Podcast and NarratorI just stumbled upon this podcast and I’m thoroughly enjoying the content, sounds, introduction music, and narrator’s voice. It feels like your listening to a wonderful old friend talk over a cup of coffee. I’ll be visiting in November and I want to say great job and thank you for the insight!
-
Rxzabaleta🤔I definitely love this channel! I have been listening for a couple of months since I discovered it. This is probably my favorite podcast. I love Spain I love talking about Madrid, it’s my favorite city! I normally love all of the episodes but be top 14 television episode threw me off when you said the Telenovela‘s were overly sentimental and very Latin American. It sounded like you meant all latinos are overly sentimental. Maybe thats just me being overly sentimental lol Anyway, good podcast in general.
-
nonuroThe best of the Spanish themed podcastsPaul never disappoints. He covers a lot of fun topics that others ignore and doesn’t focus solely on food and booze.
-
Miguel de la NocheMoving to SpainI’ve listened to numerous podcasts on Spain and find “When in Spain” to be the best. Paul Burge presents the material in a balanced manner that includes reliable, practical information that is balanced with humor. It holds our attention as we wait for the next one to reveal yet more information.
-
Chelle1019Wonderful PodcastI will be visiting Spain in October and I wished to find a detailed podcast. This podcast was just what I was looking for. Love listening about the history, food, art etc. of Spain. Thank you so much.
-
tigerfeettoniteA joyI was looking for a podcast all about Spain for a while. The others were outdated or not really what I wanted. Then one day When In Spain showed up. This is what I was looking for. All facets of Spain told in a pleasant way. I really enjoy Paul’s approach and look forward to many more episodes. Thank you.
-
sarahstarlittMadrid made easyI’ve been listening to this podcast for a while. With an upcoming move to Madrid, Paul’s notes have been incredibly helpful. His descriptions of places are vivid and colorful and I have a huge list of things to do when I get to my new home – the least of which is buying Paul a caña.
-
SquishiMasterExcellent, detailed and personableAs I prepare for my move to Spain, this has been such a great podcast to listen to!
