Anyways check me out on Instagram @jfauncephotos thanks! Keep making these awesome episodes. Looking forward to doing some of your workshops in the future. Hopefully I don’t have to walk in a river to test the depth lol

3wavesproA special treatListening to these guys talk is like a soothing mediation of nature, wildlife and photography. To have people so at ease with their craft, wax poetic about their subject is a joy to listen to. I have been a photographer for 15 years and there is always more to learn, always ways to improve. I live in an isolated community and listening to the conversation makes me feel like I’m at the table, and can share and grow with them. Keep doing what you are doing, and thank you. IG @3wavesphoto

jhalephotoRelatable and InformativeI’ve listened to Wild and Exposed for a few years now. I’m a “weekend warrior,” so I enjoy listening to the stories and living vicariously through the hosts and guests on the show. They advocate for wildlife and frequently talk about putting the well-being of the wildlife first in their priorities. The hosts educate without talking down to listeners with less experience. I look forward to each episode.
-
GTNP_filmThese guy rockNot only are these guys amazing photographers and cool guys (I’ve met and photographed wildlife with some) but this podcast is so fun and informative. Keep it up, boys…but stop the NANPA episodes. Keep the hosts to the 4 or you.

Lisa StemBaiting in wildlife photographyI would like to hear your opinion on baiting and using electronic calls in wildlife photography. Besides people leaving meat for foxes/wolves or baiting owls with mice in Winter, there is a new “phenomenon” getting more popular in the last few years. Unfortunately it is widely used during Spring - nesting season. Many photographers are using electronic bird calls to get songbirds to more favorable perches. This changes bird’s behavior as instead of looking for mate or carrying for nest, birds are being distracted to look for an intruder that isn’t there. You may think that using calls here and there is harmless but than we have photographers like Ray Hennessy who runs workshops for 3-4 weeks in Spring. For 28 days he is there every morning and evening, or at times all day, playing sounds in hopes of getting birds low and close for his clients. Additionally, he does this on the grounds of the National and State Parks where use of calls is strictly prohibited. How do you think Ray is getting those “breath” shots? Simple! Using calls! Did you see a photo that placed 2nd in BPOTY Birds in Environment category? I bet you that this bird was also lured in close to the camera with an artificial call! What are your thoughts?

samjray105Great folks having great adventures!Well, I’ve nearly completed Season 1, and I’ll have to say I’ve been totally enthralled by vicariously joining these folks on their wilderness endeavors, and learning so many little “hacks” of the trade. I’m a photographer that’s still quite wet behind the ears, and here’s what draws me to eagerly continue to listen to these podcasts… First and foremost, they make it crystal clear that the well-being of the animals are of utmost importance. With plenty of zoom power and ample planning and patience, these guys are wonderful stewards of Mama Nature, and are still able to deliver indulgent wildlife content, both still and videos. I actually came across the Wild and Exposed Podcast through North American Nature Photography Association (NANPA) website. NANPA uses nature photography as a means to promote conservation and preservation of our natural spaces and the inhabitants, so to have this podcast promoted by them speaks volumes. Secondly, while these folks are top notch professionals in visually documenting wildlife behavior, they are so good-humored, down-to-earth, humble people are aren’t afraid to share what they’ve learned, failures and all. So, I’ve personally learned so much, from animal behavior/biology and geography, to how to create visually compelling stories and the gear to do so, all while having my share of belly laughs listening to their sometimes hilarious experiences. So yes, 5 stars, and I’d highly encourage folks to jump on and come along for the ride. Sam R.

CassGirvinGreat ShowI really enjoy binging episodes while I’m traveling for photography or actually out looking for wildlife! The tips are helpful and I appreciate the down to earth attitude of the guys! The lighthearted camaraderie they share with the audience via the podcast makes me feel like I have a group of buddies to shoot with, even though I’m alone 99% of the time. Unfortunately, there aren’t tons of serious wildlife photographers near me, so the podcast gives me a sounding board, of sorts.

Shasta McFunkyBest Photography Podcast Out There!Hands down the best photography podcast available. These gentlemen are extremely knowledgeable, field tested experts at their craft. All of them world class, yet down to earth and easy to listen to. One of the most excellent details of their show is, they create an environment where you feel as if you’re hanging out with your buddies shooting the breeze, but gain so much knowledge and insight into the passion of photography. They have amazing guests and it is abundantly clear their guests feel completely at ease with these guys and share incredible stories and their own tactics and strategies for capturing amazing photos. They also share “Pro Tips” which are exceedingly valuable, and will without a doubt improve your own photography skills. Give’em a listen, you WILL NOT be disappointed!!!

RobertL002Bears Not Blasting! The Senator from West Virginia who spoke out against Pebble Mine is Joe Manchin. Senator Manchin is a Democrat; not a Republican as Ms. Ranney incorrectly stated. Vote Biden and this assault on our wild lands.
-
jebeckjrTop tier Wildlife and Nature Photography PodcastBest of the best in wildlife and nature photography! I love that the focus is more about the experience of being in nature and interacting with wildlife, than the more traditional “how to” and gear reviews. This is by far my favorite podcast of any genre, led by a trio of experts in the field.

😡😏🙏🙋A go to podcast for wildlife photographyIf you’re looking for a wildlife podcast to accompany you on drives or even just something to listen to in the office look no further. Even if you’re not a big photo guy the content that Ron, Michael, formerly Mark and now Jason put out is top notch. They’ve covered everything from big game to the little critters with the ability to keep conversation flowing like it’s a late night fireside chat. The gem of this podcast is the interviews that they do, I’m talking some really outstanding individuals from all walks of the wildlife world. On top of that they will throw in pro tips that you can actually use to perfect your craft. Missy crushes it in production especially because the guys don’t have the worlds greatest microphones or internet connections sometimes and she can turn it into some killer product. In conclusion if you’re looking for an honest podcast about wildlife photography that isn’t created by people out there for the profit then stop here and take a listen and you will probably pick up a tip or two from these guys. To Michael, Ron, Jason, Doug, and Missy keep on crushing it and producing A1 content.
