Pictures coming ALIVE thru Audio Description
This is a must listen PODCAST for photographers, no matter where they find themselves at on their photo journey… I enjoy listening to the podcast description before looking at the picture online or in the video feed. The description is 98% what I picture in my head before seeing it and interesting enough notice something I normally wouldn’t have seen. Outstanding work on the format of this podcast, it is like an interview of the featured photo alongside of artist…. I have learned a lot from this show…..Thank you.

One of the Best Photo ‘Casts
I’ve been binging this one a lot recently. Steve is a professional host and thoughtful interviewer and has to be one of the best at describing an image in great detail. That’s usually my favorite part of each episode! The production of the podcast is also consistently professional, Steve’s radio and DJ background helps a lot here I think.

    Wonderful Interviewer
Steve does an excellent job introducing you to top or emerging photographers from a variety of genres. He pulls out great tips, how they got started and really the thought process his guests used in creating a photo. He is a master at describing a photo in words so that even if you don’t see the photo you can envision it (but I would highly recommend you watch the video version, but close your eyes as he describes the photo first.

    Best format
By far, this is my favorite podcast. Steve is so humble yet highly skilled, gracious and appreciative to all his guests. Great questions and insights. And choice of guests and images to discuss are worthy choices. The overall theme is highly valuable to me. Love the background stores, recipes, humanity, sharing of skills and expertise. I highly recommend this podcast series.

Helped bring my candid photography to another level
The people that Steve Brazill brings into the BTS show are gems in the industry. I wasn't sure how much this show and the separate Photo Critique show with Don Komarechka and mystery guest would help me with my candid/street photography, but I learned so much from every single show. This show taught me how to make my candid photographs just a little more sharper. After my daytime job, I remember watching all of the photo critique shows on YouTube as well as this podcast when I was making and eating dinner. So many ideas I never considered when it came to exposure and composition in street photography. I learned so much from Steve and his friends it's not even funny. My favorite episode was with Zack Whitford because he is professional but his photos are saturated with the elements of street photography which is my genre. Even the other genres that I'm not interested in, the tips and tricks are mention can be applied to all genres of photography. If you really want to take your photography to another level, you have to watch (or listen) to this podcast and youtube channel. Most cameras these day are pretty good so the emphasis I saw in BTS was not what camera you had, but your photographic intention and mastering exposure and composition. I use a Micro Four Thirds sensor for my candid photography but everything that Steve and his guest discuss about are completely applicable to whatever camera you use. This show deserves much more and I have to thank Flickr for doing a photo critique collaboration a year or two or else I never would've found this show on my recommended feed.

    Always engaging and challenging
Initially, I only listened to the audio version of this podcast. In each episode Steve picks a single image of made by his guest to go into depth on. Before discussing it he gives a description of the photo. He is great at describing a scene, getting across the essence of the story (or stories), identifying the compositional elements that help make the photo work, and getting me to catch his enthusiasm for what his guest has created. The podcast is worth listening to just for that. But, in addition, his insightful questions, his deep knowledge of the photographic world and process, the depth of his learning about each guest and their work, and his ability to connect with and draw out his guest photographers always enriches and challenges me in my photography journey. I suggest listening to the audio and then watching the first, but either by itself is worth the time.

    Come for the inspiration!
One of the best creatives podcasts on the internet. Steve Brazill, the host gets into the mind of the artist and asks the questions that I want the answers to. You can tell that the host does his homework because many times the guest will really have to take a beat in answering a question regarding their photography, it's often a question that has not been presented to them before. Steve does his homework and that's a great thing for the listener and the artist. And then comes the verbal description for the audio-only audience. It's uncanny how well Steve can describe a picture, it blows me away every time, and more times than not the guests are just as impressed hearing their work being described so perfectly. This is what I come for! Regardless of the genre of photography, I can guarantee at the end of the show you will be inspired to go out and make some art.

    Great Guests
Been listening now for a few months. The guests are all amazing photographers. Great learning opportunities for any photographer. Started watching the video cast on you tube so I can see the image and guest interaction. I look forward to the new episodes. The critique episodes with Don Kom are awesome.

    Great Approach and Content
I like the breakdown of the great photos shared by the photographer at hand. Mr. Brazill is a natural and giving listeners the information needed to visualize the images. The photographer walking through their thought process is really helpful for aspiring photographers.

    Best Photography Podcast
This is an excellent podcast for so many reasons. I have been exposed (pun intended) to many different types of photography from landscape, portrait, fashion, wildlife, cars, street, concert, etc. the list goes on. Additionally, the guests are top-notch - from students to the most notable seasoned pros. In this setting, I love the one-on-one interview. You’ll learn more about photography and all the associated peripherals with this podcast than any other I’ve found, and it’s fun. Each show is unique. Steve - great job!

    One of my favorite podcasts!!
Behind the shot! Is one of my favorite podcasts, right there with Photo Geek Weekly and Photo Taco. Which btw is how I found out about this podcast. Keep the content coming! Love it. I bought you a Diet Coke too!

    Informative, Engaging, Interesting!
This is really quality stuff. Steve Brazill, whom I initially heard as a guest host on "Photo Geek Weekly", is an engaging, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic host that gets behind the scenes of a particular photo, asking his talented photographer guests interesting questions about methods, motivation, creative decisions, and other aspects. I mostly listen to podcasts while driving to work, but I do recommend watching the video if at all possible, as this definitely enhances the discussion at hand. That said, Steve does an excellent job describing the image. Excellent podcast.

    My Favorite Podcast!
This has got to be one of the best photography related podcasts ever produced. Its not fancy, nor does it have to be, but the content that Steve Brazill delievers is second to none! He's a common sense, down to earth gentleman who loves to dive into why a photo is so good and what it took to get said photo. My favorite episode so far is the episode with Christie Goodwin, the famous concert photographer whose photographed Ed Sheeran since the begining of his career. The work of Christie Goodwin is phenomenal and she doesn't care to spend all of her time editing her photos. She uses Apple's iPhoto to cull photos and Lightroom for minumal adjustments. AMAZING! People brag all of the time that they've spent hours editing a photo but Christie, maybe 5-10 minutes. She's all about getting right in camera and could care less about spending a ton of time in a computer and her photos are freaking amazing! I learned so much from this episode. I ALWAYS look forward to the next show and seeing what Steve has to bring to the table for us.

    Amazing and Essential for Photographers!
Behind the Shot with Steve Brazill is an amazing video podcast with a simple yet excellently excecuted concept: Bring on a photographer as a guest and have them talk about and answer questions from Steve about one of their shots in particular, from the inception of the idea to settings to any tips and tricks they used to get the shot. I say this is essential viewing for photographers because Steve presents a variety of types of shots and photographers and maybe their photo style will strike a chord with you, maybe it wont. But hearing about how the shot came to be and troubles the photographer may have had or what inspired the final product is a FASCINATING thing to listen to. I'm not a portrait photographer but watching his most recent episode with David Bergman and hearing about all they went through to get the shot in question is inspiring and amazing.

Get inside the minds of great photographers
Steve Brazill does what every photographer wishes they could do - talk to the best photographers, and get inside their minds to find out how they approach their craft. But instead of looking at an entire body of work, which is overwhelming and non-specific, Steve takes us inside a single image and dissects it with the creator, giving us a deeper understanding of how great photographers get a specific shot. Steve's also a professional DJ by trade, so his production values are top notch! Highly recommend this podcast to any photographer who wants to get better by learning from the best!

Photography podcast I most look forward to
A excellent format for a photography podcast. One of the few podcasts worth stopping what you are doing, sitting down and actually watching it on video. Steve is a professional broadcaster and outstanding interviewer. He obviously takes time to prepare for his guest and is able to ask detailed questions that help you see what it takes to make a great photo. I can’t wait for the next show!

One of the best photography podcasts
Steve Brazile does an excellent job, as he says, delving into the mind of a photographer every week. He has a relaxed and engaging interview style that helps the photographer speak clearly about his/her work. I have found this podcast both interesting and very useful. It's a very cool way to spend 30 minutes immersing oneself into a photograph and the processes a photographer goes through to make a photograph. I look forward to the weekly installments.

    Very Inspirational
I have been watching Behind the Shot for quite a while now. If you enjoy photography, you will love the insight and questions Steve Brazill brings to every image and episode. It’s always entertaining and very informative hearing about what went into a photographers particular shot. From lighting, posing, post processing, planning, composition and even dumb luck, Steve explores with each photographer every detail that went into creating their stunning image. Always look forward to receiving an alert that there is a new episode of Behind the Shot!

    Original content
I like the “Behind the Shot” podcast because it’s difficult to find this kind of information anywhere else. As an amateur photographer I like the idea of hearing how a particular photo was taken directly from the source.... especially if the source is an expert in the field and can really articulate the tips and tricks of photography. Keep them coming!

    Very Insightful
I have been a Pro-Am photographer for 45 years and find Steve and his guest's intense focus on one image and its evolution to the finished product to be one of the most instructive experiences I have found in the field. His guests are noted pros and this is one podcast I am glued to regularly. Highly recommended.

    Fantastic podcast
If you appreciate art, you will appreciate this podcast. At first I thought I might have to be a photographer to understand the subject matter, but when I started watching I realized that this is a podcast for everyone. The host brings on some brilliant and talented guests and we get a behind-the-scenes (or shot?) look at what it’s really like to be a world class photographer. Very very cool. Highly recommended.
