I don’t know why it has taken me so long to write y’all a review. I freakin love y’all! Great content, such down to earth girls, very empathetic and caring. All around amazing women, that put their all into this podcast. I’ve been a listener since 2019 I believe, and it never gets boring. Keep it coming, and btw I’ve also subscribed to Patreon cause honestly I can’t get enough of Jac & Alexis.

I’ve listened to these ladies since the beginning and I love their content! I feel like I’m listening to my best friends! Their research is too notch and their compassion is palpable thanks for what you do :)

“The podcast that you might end up on” - I understand that you’re trying to be funny, but it is not landing as you are generally not funny people and the delivery of your podcast can feel like a black mirror episode.

Sorry, I gotta say you need to be super careful with mouth noises. There’s nothing more annoying listening to a podcast or with dry mouth or runny nose or any of the things that come across with the microphone I will bail in New York second please please please I don’t want to do that With you guys. I don’t know if there’s a filter or if you can maybe just back away from the Mike or what the deal is, but really noticing it with this episode the first degree…

Between the misinformation, mispronunciations, obvious lack of research, and the constant “we’re going to follow up on this topic with more info because I didn’t look into it close enough” but never actually coming back with more details, I can’t listen anymore. And I was just getting used to the lip smacking when talking, too.

Joe Rogan listeners are “eeewww”??? Really? So I guess republicans hate women? So ridiculous. Thought you guys had your own independent thoughts. Guess I was way wrong.

Obsessed with the celeb deep dives and can’t get enough of the Blake eps - know you can’t please everyone but that and the others (Diddy, Luigi, etc) are the reason I listen!

I love the crime stories and the hosts have a fun dynamic. If you’d like a breakdown of Blake v Justin from a legal standpoint instead of a TikTok pop culture one, check out the Gavel Gavel and Where There’s Woke podcasts. They have actual lawyers break down the legal filings and laws at play and it may change your mind about exactly how innocent Justin is in this case and who is likely to prevail in court. Seeing “both sides” has been really interesting.

They’ve really gotten into these deep dives. They were fine at first, but now it just feels like they’re showing how biased and anti-women they are. It actually calls into question the quality of the rest of their reporting.

Between Alexis’ lisp (which im not knocking wanting straight teeth) and all the stupid Blake Lively episodes, this podcast is just not it anymore.

Love the podcast. Really enjoying the Deep Dives as well and something lighter. I am missing the Killing Time episodes with Jared though.

We get it, y’all hate Blake Lively. This used to be one of my favorite shows however I haven’t finished a Thursday episode in weeks. While the first episodes were presented with an unbiased view, they have now become a time to hate on BL with no attempt to see any other point of view. Please start using more informed sources. Everything from TikTok becomes incredibly biased due to its algorithm. Also, I know y’all think the conspiracy theory portions are funny but they are incredibly dangerous. You are fueling the fire of people who believe in those theories and ones that are even worse. Please just go back to TFD we know and love.

The first degree was great when Billy was there. This whole extra killing time/deep dive should be a separate podcast altogether. I hate that I have to delete it every Thursday, it’s automatically downloads and plays because I actually like listening to the first degree. I can’t listen to the gossip/banter between you two.

Why do you sound like you’re yelling into microphones and/or standing and walking and licking your lips and being so animated? I understand the passion behind your storytelling of a tragedy, but seriously calm down because it’s making me not wanna listen anymore. I don’t mind listening to the stories they’re intriguing, heartbreaking, etc.,but sometimes one of the hosts (pretty sure it’s Alexis) just can’t handle themselves. On Unraveled, you do a much better job talking calmly and or in a non-yelling voice right next to a microphone.

Idk about anyone else but I feel like the guy talking about the Stacy Shaw case was weird. I feel like he may be the guy! He secretly loved her imo and was probably jealous of her love interest. He tucks her into bed that night. Was soooo worried about this other guy but wasn’t worried when he saw the guy walking up. Also, who goes to a bbq in the morning. Something is off!

Listened to the Blake Lively drama recent episode: they give passionate damnation with such sources as “we got this from Candace Owens who got an anonymous email from someone who said ..”, a fb thread from an AD and one of them reading didn’t even understand who the second response was from, and til tok. They constantly say “where’s the video??” As if someone who works in Hollywood as a director would be stupid enough to keep cameras rolling? and even stooping to dragging Jenny Slate complaints into it and then completely dismisses her complaints too ??? I don’t need you to be a journalist, I get it’s a gossip episode and I am not a Blake fan but I’ve seen better research done by armchair detectives on TikTok. The clear bias and poor research skills just made it feel like I was eavesdropping on a bad convo.

After listening to the Stacy Shaw case, I’m slightly convinced you may have had the actual murderer on your podcast, he gave off creeeepy vibes and remembered everything from the night of the murder but couldn’t remember where he went after he left the house that night ( the exact time she was murdered)..what grown woman needs a friend to put her to bed and tuck her in, was very concerned who she hung out with

This show was witty and funny but the new Deep Dives are so incredibly biased and honestly gross. No one knows the facts and to blindly back someone and say others are lying about such a serious issue is disgusting. Also, basing your opinions on interviews and TikToks and then broadcasting it as fact is highly inappropriate.

Love you both. Your podcast is so good. The deep dives have become my favorites! Please please don’t get political. That’s one of the things so great about your shows. Even if we can guess which way you vote you stayed away. Don’t start now.

I love the deep dives. It’s like when you're gossiping with friends and you want them to tell you the juicy gossip over and over ten different ways. I can literally listen and rewind to hear it again😂. But here's my Blake and Justin take, do we remember Jussie Smollett he also lied about something horrendous and it ruined him.

I really enjoy The First Degree. I hope that Jac and Alexis push to remain unbiased when they cover the Baldoni/Lively saga. The latest episode comes off as quite biased, also feels like a lot of information is coming from TikTok. Don’t forget that clips flooding socials are cherry picked - astroturfing is real. Updated, went from regular listener to done. Do better.

Came back to change my rating. I struggled with this because I used to love this show so much, but it’s been really hard to listen to it lately. The “Deep Dives” are enabling a certain segment of the show’s listener to spew conspiracy theories about marginalized people and women. These days I stick to the actual TFD episodes that still continue to highlight the victims and their stories, as well as those they left behind. But I cringe when I see the Deep Dives episodes on my feed.

I never listened to true crime let alone podcasts in general before I found The First Degree. It’s always men being boring, but Alexis & Jac make their episodes so engaging and accessible! There’s no shame in stating tik tok as a source here and that’s real. Their deep dives feel like a wild convo with friends and tin foil hats, and it’s no wonder they have so many new listeners bc it’s awesome love the way they discuss “conspiracies”. 5 stars all day keep it up girls I’m locked in.

I enjoyed the show over all. First time listener. I do appreciate that y’all talked about Candace Owens and her opinion about all this. It’s strange to me that y’all felt the need to explain that you don’t align with her politically. I know you said it for your lefty listeners, it’s just strange to me that other people make you feel like you HAVE to say it. I guess that is just the political climate these days. Sad. I’m assuming that you were talking about unaliving babies with the “rights” comment. I just want to say I pray that God will change your heart on this.

Used to love the deep dives, but the blatant bias in the Baldini/Lively case is really disheartening. Once they started promoting Candace Owens, I was done. While she may have the facts about this case, she has extremely hateful, false, divisional takes and spouts false conspiracy theories that are truly dangerous. Even when they said they don’t agree with her politically, they are still driving traffic to her and lining her pockets, enabling her to continue her dangerous rhetoric. This whole deep dive series on this matter has turned me off and driven me away.

I’m a real estate broker and interior designer here in LA. I’m always in traffic and starving for something interesting to listen to. I am so obsessed with ‘Killing Time’ bonus episodes and need more of the Diddy story please!! REALLY looking forward to hearing more about the whole Clive Davis connection and other implications/connected people in power….celebrities too! I used to be a huge fan of The First Degree, and if it had remained solely focused on that original format, I would still likely enjoy it. However, the segments ‘Killing Time’ and ‘Deep Dive’ have become quite difficult to listen to. The ‘It Ends With Us’ deep dive was disappointing- it felt biased and pretty victim-blamey. In my opinion, they’re just really missing the mark lately.

I tried. I really did. Despite the repeated assurances that the audio would improve after the first dozen episodes, the content itself did not do so. I gave it a rest when the ladies tried to demonstrate owning Mercedes Benzes in high school as ‘relatable.’ I hopped forward a few years in episodes, and…nah. You can literally google this info yourself without listening to a couple vapid women complain about their dating lives as ‘bonus content.’

They pulled me in with Diddy, and wow, am I glad I’ve stuck around for Livedoni Gate. I find their regular weekly episodes to be meh, but their Thursday Deep Dives are primo content. Should mention that I’ve been a huge fan of Jac’s other podcast, The LadyGang, since 2016 and it took me years to start listening to this one. Glad I did!

I like the first degree but the deep dives are painfully under researched and weird. The deep dive of It Ends With Us is so biased and basically just them agreeing with each other’s biased points. They totally lost me when they admitted they hadn’t even seen the movie and said “ew” at the thought.

I love that you guys are covering current events. I feel like that’s hard to find & I will not be reading the lawsuits. Here for all the TLDRs.
