So many scary stories and some I had to pause and turn the light on!! 💡but some stories I questioned the authenticity or fabrication or exaggerated…. Regardless, I love first person stories. 👻

This show is something I look forward to every month. It is so well done and fascinating. I love it when shows have a first person perspective to the story being told. So good. Give it a listen. And the theme song is so good.

Firstly I love the opening theme music. The stories are great, I have been totally binging them. I wish I had found this show sooner!

Good stories, but some of the story tellers laugh or giggle which takes away the sense of realism and authenticity…especially when they say are scared they are and then laugh. Hard to believe them.

Love love love this podcast! Always excited when I see a new episode come out! I wish there were more, but I could imagine these take a long time to create with finding & recording someone’s story. The theme song is my favorite part of it all.

I listened to the latest two episodes about the house in Ohio. All I can say is, this woman should have her parenting license taken away. She let her children and her bedbound grandmother be tortured for five years?! I just don't get it. She figured out pretty quickly that something was seriously wrong and didn't think to call somebody like a priest or a medium or something?? These people were more concerned about the mom's pitbulls than the physical and mental safety of her children and grandmother. Something's wrong in the head with these people. "We just ignored it". Wow.

This is a general review of the pod, not any specific episode. I listen to all the ghostly podcasts I can get my ears on. I am insatiable. There are a lot of great ones out there, but this one is a standout. The stories are some of the spookiest, the production is just enough, the hosts are charming and similarly just enough, no endless chatter. Just right.

Appreciate that you let them tell their stories without interference with ads or fillers. You’ve re-released earlier shows once you realized they weren’t available anymore. Because you don’t badger listeners with endless pleas for money, you’re unique, and I want to give you money.☺️

Those episodes were the scariest f’n stories I’ve ever heard! All your guests are credible and interesting and scary, but, WHOA! She had so much detail and so many terrifying, unexplainable incidents! I had to stop listening the first time because I was about to get in the shower. 😄😳😳😳😱😱😱

I like that there isn’t a ton of unnecessary fluff. Each episode is mostly story. A few of the story tellers are pretty hard to listen to, but I’ve only felt that way a couple times. This is a new favorite.

After binging all of the episodes out so far for this year I am ready to review. LOVE the show! I love that they allow the person who has had the experience tell the story themselves. I’m definitely a fan!

I found this show as my mom was a recent guest, and I’m so glad I know about it now! I have been listening to past episodes, and every story has captivated me. I’m now a fan! I look forward to new releases and catching up on previous episodes!

Short but intriguing stories. And an awesome theme song!

They are terrifying! I love it! Granted, I’m only 10, but I’ve watched the Five Nights at Freddy’s movie without trouble. I’d say it holds up! :-) definitely not for people who can’t handle horror.

No long intros, no ad breaks every couple of minutes - just pure storytelling from the mouths of the people who had the experience. I’ve been binging this podcast from the beginning during my shifts at work for the past week now and I’ll continue to listen to new episodes once I’m all caught up!

Love the stories! To some of you that are saying Spooked is better, Spooked has unnecessarily long intros that I always skip through, the stories can go from level ten of scariness to level one, and the editing isn’t that great. You can see me in the dark definitely out ranks it.

This podcast is almost five stars for me. Pros: no commercials, no ridiculous banter, no commentary, mostly decent stories, killer theme song Cons: sometimes the stories sound like they just let the person ramble and did their best to edit it into something coherent. This means that the quality of the episode varies widely. If the person is a good story teller, the episode is great. If they’re not? The episode can be a slog. Spooked is still the gold standard for me, but this is close.

I look forward to these stories and I love how they bring out the character of people that are talking. They seem genuine.

I always look forward to the next episode. This podcast is absolutely perfect for those who love spooky stories! I find myself taking the long way wherever I’m going just to get more time to listen.

Love this podcast! I enjoy listening to spooky stories and paranormal encounters. That said, many times I pull away from shows due to the relentless commentary or dramatic reenactments. This show has found the perfect balance between personable hosts that don’t take away from the mood and wonderfully animated first person accounts of the guests experiences. I started a week ago and I’m just about listen to every episode already. Oops! I hope the episodes continue to come and plan to become a supporter. Thanks for the dark tales!

This is a great podcast! The stories are creepy, and even creepier, they are people’s real interactions with ghosts and paranormal activity. Grab a friend and some popcorn, and get ready to get spooked.

Background music and effects are way too loud and distracting. Couldn’t finish the episode.

Started listening to this channel today and haven’t been able to stop. The hosts are absolutely amazing, the people telling their story really make you feel like you’re in their shoes. I love paranormal stuff but was having a really hard time listening to other paranormal podcasts until I found this one. Its straight to the point with the guests experiences!

If you think the only correct pronunciation is “app-uh-latch-uh” and only snooty outsiders pronounce it differently then you are just as snooty as the people you accuse of mispronouncing it. The Appalachians is a big area, and just because the people you know who live there say it one way doesn’t mean it’s the only way. People in northern Appalachia are more likely to say “app-uh-lay-shuh.” Both are accepted.

A little due diligence is all it takes to use correct pronunciation. Couldn’t finish the episode because I was so annoyed.

I binged the entire podcast in a couple weeks because it’s just such good listening. It’s gripping without getting my cortisol levels too high; lots of southern charm, believable stories, and a nuanced view of what paranormal phenomena might be. It’s lovely.
