TelecastrSlipping.I used to enjoy this show, but I’m starting to really question Julie’s motives. It’s very biased against conservative Christians. Listen at your own risk.

jmholcombExcellentReally love the content, reporting and interviews. Keep up the good work!

FSUSeminolesThank YouI’m the son of a southern Baptist minister. So grateful for this podcast and the work of Julie Roys. Wonder why the church is shrinking, that trust in religion is waning? Listen to her expert reporting, rooting out true evil in the church which has been destroying lives.

SgtosdToo FarThis organization does some important work exposing true abusers, but it has gone way too far into unhelpful and divisive content. Some of the podcast interviews discuss local church matters with disgruntled x-members of churches. The critique of Lakepointe is founded on an interview of someone who just seems upset that her favorite ministry was changed by the vision of new leadership. Do better. The church does not need such gossip….this was not hidden sin. There was nothing to expose. Do better.

Bobbie 196260 Minutes for the Institutional ChurchYay Julie!!! I was so excited by Mr. Mercy Culture ‘s diatribe about you ( I still CANNOT get irony of that name!). When you poke the nests, the snakes or rats ( or whatever) bite back! You are doing the work of Jesus! You are speaking truth to power-like Jesus to the Pharisees, like John the Baptist to Herod, yes like Elijah to these pastors’ fave queen -Jezebel! Landon and others are running scared. His tantrum is a great ad for your work!! Please keep going sister!!! We need you!

thisisajokeofanappThere’s got to be a better wayI am weary of the accusations. Listened to the program with Dr. Julia Dahl and I think this will be my last. Julie employs the same image repair tactics as the pastor from Ft.Worth being discussed does but she seems to be almost gleeful when his flaws are highlighted. I’ve sensed what feels like jadedness from Julie with the Church for sometime now. I get it. And it’s a tough role that she’s in. But somehow this exposure and “reform” has to be shepherded in a healthier way. The cynicism is depressing and not serving the Church well.

kaywent41“The Body of Christ Keeps the Score”First time listener and was recommended your podcast on Spotify today. I listened to the episode titled “The Body of Christ Keeps the Score” with the guest Kayleigh Clark, discussing the impacts of communal suffering and trauma. This was so thoughtful and thought provokingly beautiful. I am a huge fan of the book the title references, “The Body Keeps the Score”, and cannot seem to stop engaging in trauma informed content related to the American church, as it caused a lot of trauma in my own life and story. I am so encouraged by this conversation and there was one example and quote about how Jesus interacted with hurting people out of a beautiful, humble posture of compassionate curiosity. And how that posture is so beautiful and a model for people and pastors to lead being trauma informed and compassionately curious. Very thankful to have stumbled across this today and looking forward to listening more.

Work of His graceBecoming aware of wolves among the sheepI so appreciate the hard work the Roy’s report team does investigating and interviewing persons related to abuse in the church. We as Christians have been told to not talk about things because it shames the name of Christ. Jesus warned us that there would be wolves so we would deal with them. Wolves can only be dealt with to protect Christ’s Holy name by holding them accountable to prevent further abuse. This podcast gives that opportunity to be wise, to be heard, to bring healing.

Marla234Completely One-sided WokeJust listen to her intro! She thinks she’s “reporting the truth and restoring the Church”??? Where’s the trashcan, I may vomit..

davidivoriesMy number one podcast right nowI have been listening a lot lately. I first heard about Julie Roys because of IHOP. I left IHOP years ago really hurt and confused. I’m so thankful for Julie’s work AND I’m so thankful for how it’s presented. Many podcaster are looking for “juicy tidbits” and it feels like gossip. Julie is fair and honest in her questions, she is not salacious, and I am so grateful for her voice right now. There is a good shift happening in the church…and a shift can mean exposure. And the goal of exposure is repentance and change. This podcast is helping with that. Keep it up!

Tom RoughneckThe problem with ProtestantismListening to this podcast about disillusionment in ISB churches it illustrates the reason why there are over 4400 different forms of Protestants because one group within the church doesn’t agree with this piece of philosophy or theology and the other group doesn’t agree and then there’s a schism and then they form another church and then that church splits apart over a theological debate. All churches reflect the fact that they are controlled by humans who are fallible who have original sin and the hubris in thinking that they speak directly to God! they have no 3000 year history of theological development. When the sexual abuse of the Catholic Church came to light, how the protestants laughed with glee, however, it came to light because there is a command structure although it moves slowly it came to recognize the problem and address it too slowly to be sure. these independent protestant churches have no higher authority no one in control over them except (greed?) and some pastors who believe that he has a direct line to God Almighty.

paulina.grazioseThank youI may not always agree, but I always glean deeper insights listening to your podcast. Thank you for your service.

dena phoneGrateful TrulyI just found this story about the Mars Hill congregation and your part in that led me to your show. My husband and I have been praying to find the right place to worship as we moved away from the church we raised our family in a few years ago. I’ll keep praying and thanking God for you shining a light on the truth. Thanks for your strength that must come from the Lord for this show. I appreciate you and will be praying for you.

LoopsmiffBethlehem??Keep going Julie. We need you, the church needs you. Thank you for what you do.

Kathie roseWish I had learned these truths earlier! There is so much good content in this podcast. In particular the Restore Conference speakers! I could have avoided or better navigated so many troubles in life if I knew those things earlier. The subject is church abuse but I find myself processing so many levels of abuse and wrong I have experienced in my life (family, work, church, and more). I feel validated and empowered and it is surprisingly healing. I am growing more from listening here than I have in any form of therapy I have tried. The non-conference podcasts are also interesting, but the conference ones were a highlight for me. Thank you so much!
-
Pastor PMayMehThis podcast seems designed more to sell books and conference registrations than get at the truth. Compared with Rise and Fall of Mars Hill, which interviews more than one person and takes pains to uncover the truth, this podcast seems only interested in presenting one side of a story. Church leader abuse is very real; PLEASE do victims justice and make a thorough report. This is presented as journalism but falls far short. Makes it hard to know what really happened in Naperville.
-
Ben DitzelThis is definitely the podcast for the unsavedThose who reject Christ and have deconstructed their faith to justify the desire to avoid accountability and Scriptural truth will love this podcast and the affirmation it affords those who have turned their back on the Biblical God but aren’t necessarily ready to say as such.

NJS-CHASKATrying to play GodI’m shocked at the volume of judgment leveled by this podcaster against EVERYONE. It’s remarkable in so many bad ways. I appreciate when the podcaster has guests on that push back against her narrative. In listening to the worship series, her arguments led me to believe her interest is not seeing repentance from others, rather their fall. She is so off base about her understanding of worship production, etc. I was a bit nauseated by the episodes. Thankfully, one of the guests shared that we, “don’t remove pre-repentance info from the Bible.” God can use whoever He wants to move people closer to Him even if it’s largely from 4 churches right now. Quit being so quick to judge and pretend like you are an expert on topics for which you clearly have so little understanding.

Ivy LakeAffair Vs. AbuseBased on the reports I agree that Patrick Garcia does not need to be in the pulpit. I understand young girls being groomed. I have worked with sexually abused, trafficked women and it is heart-breaking. It is clear that Patrick snd Moriah's relationship was not on the same level at all. Her explanations and excuses are hollow. An educated, obviously sophisticated woman who has a good husband and a relationship with Christ should not be vulnerable to being groomed. It is really sad that his immature flattery led her down a road to sexting. Obviously he was not the only one who was immature with emotional issues. It is not my place to judge her but this podcast did not convince me that she has faced her own responsibility in allowing this to happen. I think anyone with any understanding of human behavior and relationships would rightly call this an affair. I am sorry for those who have been deeply hurt and had their lives ship-wrecked by their actions.

SfH-LWSinging For HimI’ve had so much respect and interest in your news, Julie, but then you said, “I’ve been seeing an Enneagram coach…” I was so shocked that I had to rewind the podcast to make sure I heard you correctly. What? I couldn’t believe it. Why dabble in the New Age? I pray you do not open yourself up to this anymore. I cannot take what you’re saying seriously anymore if this is something you believe is appropriate as a Christian. Sadness.

Fishergirl&Stellar PodI cannot say enough good things about this podcast and the work it is doing calling to account the massive damage, harm and banality in Evangelical culture today. She makes me so proud as a spiritual-no-longer-Christian-but-still-Christian-college-educated-albeit-Lutheran gal😉I so appreciate her dedication to integrity, telling the stories of women and those underrepresented and asking tough, good faith questions that are aimed at accountability and honesty.

Colby WilkinsCourageous Journalism with Integrity!Julie is a courageous journalist using her voice to shine a light into the darkness where there should be light! Her podcast interviews are fair and balanced. She does not hesitate to push back or bring in pertinent context. I’m grateful for her reporting on MacArthur, Bethlehem, Hillsong, Harvest, and more.

Me99999999123563214524Thank youGratitude is all I have for finding these podcasts. Please keep revealing wolves and their patterns, preying on the vulnerable.

kplspA courageous and honest podcastI agree with another reviewer that said it takes tremendous courage to tell the truth about something this sensitive. People feel strongly about their faith and their politics. This podcast is educating us all about the underside of the church and things that must see the light in order to be stopped. We do need change. This is not to say I am not a tremendous supporter of the church, because I am. The church is the bride of Christ, but we must open our eyes to the things that are grieving the heart of God and the heart of Jesus Christ. Thank you.

purplenoodles!Truth has to be told!It takes tremendous courage to tell the truth in our word today. Julie is one of the rare ones who is not afraid to do so, even in the light of facing serious backlash from the perpetrators of spiritual abuse. As a survivor of church abuse myself, I am very grateful for Julie’s podcast. The truth has to be told and light has to shine in the darkness of many abusive churches! Thank you, Julie.

Davvey143Went wokeI really really loved this show for a long time until it took an unfortunate turn. If Julie wants to go woke - I will not be joining her. This show should have transcended politics, and for a while it did. I might as well just watch CNN now if I wanted this nonsense.
-
Amyhawk9Excellent showI love this podcast! It’s informative, scriptural and truthful. I appreciate Julie and her ministry of truth. Keep going, Julie!
-
@imwillhendersonGreat podcastI so appreciate Julie’s podcast. We are currently experiencing some of these same issues of a lack of openness and transparency in a mega church. She has so much integrity and stays on the story. I started w/ the first podcast and I’m listening to all of them.

Truth Seeker12Needed voiceJulie is such a needed voice. It is time for the the true church to rise up and allow God to purify us for service to Christ.

A Source of TruthA Necessary Source of Truth and WisdomWhen I began listening to Julie and “The Roys Report,” I knew I had found a significant source of truth and wisdom. It is now a must-go-to podcast for both myself and my coaching/counseling clients.

Midwest ListernerThank youThank you, Julie, for your work and sharing your heart with your listeners. This podcast has put words to my thoughts and helped me grow in understanding.

Safe JaneEnlightening and well madeIt isn’t easy to expose corruption in any sphere, but doing so in the church comes with its special challenges. Shining the light into the dark places is scary work and takes a lot of conviction and courage. I admire the brave souls who do God’s (‘thy kingdom come”) work by telling the truth and revealing Jesus for who He is. Good content, well put together, fair and balanced, all rare.

debtor2graceHonest ConcernPlease address the YouTube channel for “Dear Woke Christian” and his concerns. He appears to be genuine in his approach to you, your book, and your ministry. He says that he has reached out to you and you have blocked him. In the interest of being ‘transparent’ please address his concerns. Until this matter is resolved, I cannot give this podcast, your book or your ministry any sort of ‘endorsement’. Mrs. Roys, you’ve said that “sunlight” is the best remedy for sin/darkness—please make this right. Praying for you.

METjrExposing the churchThank you for this pod. Truth, riveting and another watch person upon the wall. Thank you for integrity as a kingdom daughter.

Starry11111111111So neededThe Christian evangelism church in America has some major issues that need to be exposed. Sunlight is the best disinfectant. Super grateful for Julie’s work
-
BarnaPFantastic!I guess I know where all these one-star people go to church. This is great conversation. Thanks for saying out loud what so many of us are afraid to because of personal relationships with members of these types of churches.

DksurbfImportant WorkI just finished listening to the two episodes about what happened at Bethlehem. First, this is important reporting because if leaders are not held accountable to lead with humility, the result is an arrogance that leads to atrocities that shame the church at large. Second, the best part of these two episodes was the final statement in the last few minutes by Steve Tackett. His heart for people who have been abused by the church and his self-examination for any complicity was refreshing and beautiful.

JasoncorrieDon’t listen!!Divisive and one-sided!! Don’t listen!

Charles0408SadJust another podcast of Christians criticizing Christians. What a shame. Why do we do this? Why do we need to tear down our own people? Not the way of Jesus.

WakeForestNCAn important dash of salt!Christ calls us to be salt and light! I enjoy Julie’s reporting and she interviews in an interesting way that keeps your attention. However, the most important value of this podcast is that it is an important dash of salt in our current Christian culture! Salt is both preserving in nature. Also, while the focus isn’t a “flavor all of its own” it deepens the flavor of what it is put on. I love how Julie’s goal always seems to help preserve the good in the church and she also adds a deep flavor to each subject she discusses.
