Rick the BBQ EnthusiastAJ Maudsley Podcast 5/5/23While I always enjoy your podcasts, this episode fell off the rails for you guys. It’s apparent the episode didn’t go through any quality control before being posted. The audio really fell off the rails. I’m looking forward to hearing the next episode. Rick PS…I’m glad you’re much better Pitmasters than recording engineers! 😁

hudy95Could be five stars, but..I love listening to these guys. It is definitely informative if you’re into competition barbecue, which I am not. I really wish they would change the direction of the show a little bit instead of pure competition . I mean how many people out there are into competition compared to people that just cook in the backyard. I honestly enjoy, just listening to their chatter before the podcast start and generally just delete it after that. Sorry but that’s the truth..

tyewillyAwesome Podcast and even better hosts. The knowledge and experience that Rusty and Anthony bring to the table is top notch. The featured guests are phenomenal. I love the comp guests but my favorite guests are the guys and gals that have a food trailer/truck. I am traveling that route and I am taking all of the knowledge and mistakes that are mentioned here to help my food truck life start out hopefully flawless, well small flaws are part of the learning curve. Keep up the great work and keep the podcasts coming.

fgh6890Awesome PodcastI never miss an episode. Love the interviews, tips-and-tricks along with the updates on what’s happening in the BBQ world. Speaking of updates, any word on the November Backyard down in St. George this year. Love that event, I go every year. As a long time listener, Thank you both for all your hard work putting on the podcast. Keep it up , you two work good together. Dave in South Jordan

305_MSaid I Would so Finally I am…I don’t exactly know where to begin. I suppose with description of the podcast: Awesome! Which as we all know you can’t spell awesome without ME. And apparently that’s who listens to this podcast…well ME and at least 3 others. It’s sad when you can quote all the intros: Greg’s , the Thermo pen one ad etc with perfect precision as the podcast continues on. Then only to hear Rusty’s famous beginning words- “Alright Pitmasters, today we are talking to ____ from ____”. Seriously speaking, both of you guys bring it each and every time and even when one of your schedules doesn’t permit I feel that each of you fill the other shoes the best you can and continuing the interviews. It’s truly truly a bit of a letdown in the rare times that you guys miss a week and I look at my phone at about 9:18 Thursday mornings and realize there’s not an episode this week to listen to. To Anthony: don’t ever let that laugh go away. Even though you sometimes overuse it especially at all of Rusty‘s dad jokes but it’s terrific. Possibly even better is your well timed “WOWs”! Seemingly at a high point or moment of friction and again usually geared towards Rusty's spoken thoughts. Thank you for being responsive via social with questions I bounced off of you. Shout out to: The Buzzcrew, the back of your Beamer, Team Arkasissippi and the SCA grind! Keep it going 🤘🏼. To Rusty: Dude! Thank you! I appreciate you helping me through my barbecue trailer set up and entertaining my wild ideas. You’ve been an awesome sounding board as I get my barbecue trailer up off the ground. I’m the mean time… why do YOU go piss up a rope? The fact that you have a crush on Matt Hansons brisket is fine by me and we all know that you have, Crooked Pigs box envy. We get it. Shout out to: The Utah Jazz, being a girl dad and team offset! Ending with this: I just want to know if you/we/listeners are actually going to put beards for briskets on the line… is this a thing or is it not? I say let’s do it! Team Pellet Brisket Vs. Team Offset Brisket! Let’s create a page and get Pitmasters backyard cooks and king of cul-de-sacs to pledge their beard and pick a side… then we all can finally put to rest the ABSOLUTELY ludicrous idea that a toys-r-us pellet bake oven stands a chance of holding up to a stick burner offset! Best of 3 cooked briskets… unless… a pellet can’t cook 3 at the same time. Yay or Nay? Thank you guys so much for making time in both of your busy weeks and life‘s to bring me and the other three folks podcast gold on Thursdays! Keep up the awesoME work! Tg210707Can’t Get EnoughWell, Rusty and Anthony asked for reviews, so here it goes…. I have these guys to blame for getting me into competition bbq. I’m a backyard cook and never had an interest in competing until I listened to this podcast. Now I’m signed up for my first two comps, and have listened to most of, if not all of, the Pitmasters Podcast episodes. These guys are great! They are funny and entertaining (Anthony laughs at everything which makes me laugh) and they know what they’re talking about. Also, the guests they bring on the show are top notch. It’s clear these guys actually care about the industry and want to set their listeners up for success! I’ve gained a ton of knowledge from listening to them and their guests. These guys have a great pulse on industry trends and how to succeed! Thanks for all the help and for the tips. Can’t wait to put it all to use. Hopefully we cross paths at a comp sometime!

Dawgman1Best BBQ PodcastI listen to a lot of podcasts, bbq podcasts especially. This is my favorite one. Some podcasts are too scripted or stiff in their interview style but Anthony and Rusty do a great job of making conversation while pulling knowledge and tips from their guests. The perfect balance of fun and education. I also met Anthony in Ft. Worth at the SCA World Championship and he was friendly and as genuine as expected, hanging around talking for 20+ minutes about everything grilling. Thanks for the great content guys! - Blake Kitchens (Hound Hogs BBQ)

🔥ddwalz🔥Spitting BBQ Knowledge and sharing entrepreneurial experiencesI’ve been listening to the podcast for about 4 months now after meeting Anthony at thermoworks while in SLC for work. I really enjoy the plethora of guest they bring on from the competition bbq scene, SCA’s, bbq restaurants or bbq influencers. I appreciate the engaging conversations touching on experiences, cooking techniques or product preferences. For any one in the bbq scene, give this podcast a listen.

natural born grillaThank you and suggestionRusty and Anthony, I started listening to your podcast out of my love for all things BBQ. Then you started focusing on SCA. That’s where my journey begins. Yesterday I competed in my first SCA event at Belvidere Heritage Days. I didn’t crack top 10 in bacon, but took 5th in tacos and walked 4th in steak with my DAL chip! I owe it all to you guys and your incredible podcast and wonderful guests! I even got to hang with the legendary Sandy Brown and we talked about you guys and the fact that I’ve listened to that episode 5x! Now here’s my suggestion… when are you going to have AJ on as a guest so I can REALLY up my steak game?? Thanks for everything! Next step, #searrevolution!
-
Jedifnp‘The’ BBQ podcast, period.Very entertaining and informative on the topic of bbq and competition cooking. I particularly appreciate the friendly banter between Rusty and Anthony and will forever hear “bubble gum, bubble gum, bubble gum; bubble gum for me,” whenever I think about Rusty’s grooming.

Golf KultureLove this podcastLike the title says, I love this podcast. They are able to get some high level guests from the BBQ community and their interview skills keep you engaged. I never considered competing in a steak comp (actually I hadn’t even heard of them, until I listened to this podcast), but I just signed up with SCA and am going to take a judging class. Keep the great content coming, Rusty and Anthony, and I will continue to listen. **Update** I wish I could give this podcast SIX stars! I have competed in six SCA competitions since my initial review, thanks to this podcast. I have been fortunate to have met both Rusty and Anthony at these events and they are the nicest guys you will ever meet.

ClearBlueBBQYou’ve kept me sane!Hey boys! Love the pod! Haven’t missed an episode yet! You’ve convinced me to spend more money on grills for SCA after listing. My wife’s thrilled... Didn’t get a chance to meet you guys at Smitty’s class in Az I arrived late and had to sit in the corner... Dude with the beard crushing white claws yeah that was me. Anyway keep it up. Love the guest you guys have on. Very informative. Look forward to every Thursday!

Buck and Bru BBQFantastic grilling and smoking meat podcastFantastic podcast , sound quality is great , great list of quests that covers a wide variety of the grilling and smoking content extremely well. Two hosts have a great friendship that adds good content to show and shows passion for bbq. Hosts are supporting the next generation of bbq enthusiasts through support of their children. Loved Rusty’s origin story on bbq central. Appreciate that hosts are not against a style of Cooking (ex. Sous vide / pellet grills) Good luck on your food truck Rusty

HalfBakedHippieKeep em coming!!!The show has come a long way from its humble beginnings, bringing the best of the best of BBQ and Steak cookers to your ears. I have also enjoyed the technology aspect brought to the show with solar power and companies like Thermoworks. The friendly banter and drama between the two hosts is enjoyable and everyone should be getting on that “Sear revolution” train with Rusty!!!! Keep it interesting boys and I’ll keep listening.

tacker0709Best BBQ pod out todayI have been listening to this pod from day one of their inception. It is easily he best podcast that deals in bbq. Anthony and Rusty have a very likable disposition about them and have done the best in capturing the culture and beauty of the bbq world. It is also very impressive to see the quality of guests they are able to get on the show and as entertaining as those guest are the shows I like the most is when they just talk about their experiences in competitions and in the backyard

Jw7779Appreciate the willingness to help othersThis podcast is what I love about competition bbq. The willingness to help others succeed. I’ve never really experienced before starting to compete. Especially not in a professional environment where in life, at work it can feel like every man for themselves. I love how in my experience people offer advice or help even without having to ask for it. I’m not good at asking for help. Lots of good info on your show. Keep up the good work.
