William Branham Historical Research

William Marrion Branham (A.K.A. William Marvin Branham, 1907-1965) was a Pentecostal minister from Jeffersonville, Indiana credited by some as initiating the Post WWII Healing Revival. He is widely recognized for playing a leading role in the formation of the Latter Rain, Word of Faith, Manifest Sons of God, and New Apostolic Reformation movements.  Some have gone so far as to label Branham as "God's General", fully unaware of the critical information concerning Branham's ministry and the multiple conflicting stage personas Branham used for self-promotion as a self-proclaimed prophet. This podcast walks listeners through time, examining the histories of not only William Branham but also the men who worked with Branham, created his stage personas, and promoted his ministry.  All research material can be found on william-branham.org. Untangling the lies from IHOPKC
This podcast has been a surprisingly helpful tool for me in untangling so much of my charismatic childhood and the damage that I experienced in the IHOP KC cult with Mike Bickel, whose mentor was Paul Cain. I left in 2010 (and for the most part left the faith) but in light of recent allegations of sexual abuse against Mike Bickle, have found myself revisiting all the old wounds and traumas. I really appreciate the knowledge these men share and how I can see all these teachings making their way into Mikes life and the horrific fruit it brought about in so many lives, just from the theology alone. These episodes are giving knowledge to things my intuition has been telling me for over a decade. Thank you for the work you are doing.

    Invaluable Research
I keep referring folks to this podcast. It’s crucial in understanding how we arrived at Charismatic/Pentecostal/Dominionist/Nationalism. Everyone who spent any time in NAR IHOPKC, Bethel, HIM (Ché Ahn), the Prophetic Movement should work their way through this pod.

    10/10
This pod is the template for what all history podcasts should be: exhaustively researched and informed by personal experience without wild speculation or vulgar humor. WBHRP offers a unique insight into the many movements and events that have grown out of Latter Rain and its predecessors. A must for parapolitics heads seeking a better understanding of Jonestown, Colonia Dignidad, and though it’s not discussed here, PATCON and the OKC bombing.

This podcast is just so, so good
I’m learning so much from this podcast, while being thoroughly entertained. Things weren’t so different in the 30’s than they are now. Mind blowing.

    Fantastic Research and History
I was not raised in the Message but I was raised in a fundamentalist Oneness Pentecostal home in Southern Indiana. Much of the history and research and shared experiences that Collins and Paisley share have helped me understand my family’s history and the cult like hold it’s had on me and my ancestry. I have been binge listening to these podcasts for two days now and I can’t wait to read Collins’ books.

    Azuza street revival
Research the Azuza street revival. In wikopedia Do you know when it spawned? A few days after Branham’s birth. The angel was now on earth, and had to wait until this prophet child becomes an adult and went over to the West Coast to hold a revival, this message is bigger than you can wrap your arms around.

    Sociology PhD listening materiel.
These two wonderful gentlemen have such a vast wealth of information that everyone should listen to. The information is both fascinating and true. Better than any crime video. There are twists and turns every episode. Thank you for opening eyes. Well Done!

    Excellent!
I graduated from Christ for the Nations Institute (Gordon Lindsay’s college) and have since walked away from the faith. I always knew there was more to the story and wanted to do a deep dive into Gordon’s past. This podcast has been a breath of fresh air. Much needed facts backed by evidence. It’s hard to admit I was part of this cult. I’m embarrassed. Thank you for this podcast.

    Insightful
I first heard about John Collins after he was on a podcast episode by “Cultish” talking about William Branham. I didn’t grow up in the Message Movement, but I did grow up in the “Name it, and Claim it”/ Charismatic Movement where Ken Hagen, Copeland and the like were really respected. That theology was all I knew from the time I was a child till I graduated college. It’s been very interesting to see the connection between Branham and the Charismatic Movement. I had NO CLUE they were even there! Really appreciate all of your thorough research and discussions, guys.

    Slick Podsite
Don’t be fooled by there folksy image. My experience from working in the Silicon Valley for two decades. These guys have some significant backing. They spend considerable effort getting the listener emotionally attached to the broadcast. Note how the background music moves through the story. Emphasizing certain emotions. Classic manipulation. Skip the broadcast and read the information on there website. Take notes. Challenge there information. Come to your own conclusions.

Not worth listening to all this inaccurate nonsense.

    Just the facts ma'am
Detailed research based on historical documents that were NOT destroyed in a flood like many claim. Can't wait to listen to more.
