A show for humans who love music.
Thank you Keith for this incredible podcast. As someone else who grew up in Bucks County, it’s delightful to hear about familiar places and bands, despite not really getting into heavier music until the early 2000s. I love the thoughtful and intelligent questions you ask guests beyond just the music they create, giving the conversation such an organic flow. I am a newer fan to the show, but when you have guests from Cave In, Sumac, sleepmakeswaves and Rosetta, as well as all the countless name drops of my other favorites, I’m here to stay. Please feel free to bring on more post rock bands in the new year. Be well & take care.

Great podcast! Very well done! Thanks

    Fun show
Keith does great interviews with interesting people, but I also enjoy his personal introspective stuff about his own life. It’s cool to hear about other middle aged dudes living their best lives. One of the best pods out there.

Thank you for putting this podcast out! I didn’t know I needed it until now, guests are great and the content shows up for itself!

    Great Listen
Keith is a great pod host. He asks probing questions, but he’s never pushy or looking for gossip. He shows up as sincere and curious. He lets his guests talk, great balance.

Hardcore punk pod that stays on point
Host Keith brings on influential hardcore musicians to interview and discuss their history and recent activity. Keith has a natural rapport with his guests that seems to foster informative, successful interviews. Superfluous jokes and anecdotes are kept to a minimum (thankfully), as Keith does a nice job at staying on topic and keeping the focus on the musician. This was a problem with early episodes with then co-host Tommy, who had a tendency to hijack the conversation with goofy, lengthy anecdotes.

    Good stuff
Enjoyable interviews with people I want to hear from. Keep it up!

    Hands down best music podcast
This has easily become my most listened to music podcast. Keith has a way to always connect with the artists on a musical and personal level that’s so genuine. I’ve found many new bands from interviews to ones Keith mentions at the end of every episode. Thanks Keith! <3

    The best podcast
The best independent music podcast that is around today and quite possibly the best podcast of all time. 5 stars.

Excellent interviews with hardcore and punk’s finest!
Thank you so much for this incredible podcast. I’ve gotten so much enjoyment listening to your podcasts and interviews with some amazing musicians. Many bands that I love are here, and hearing their stories from their own mouths is just awesome man. Keep up the great work, and thank you!!

An update after listening for a couple years
This show seems so dialed in to my personal music taste that it’s a bit scary. A great interview each week with either an artist that I am very familiar with or a new artist that I can trust I will enjoy. Five stars.

    Love the Podcast.
Your reverse psychology convinced me to drop a review. I really enjoy the podcast. The questions you ask are not redundant and boring, and you don’t talk over the guest. Keep up the great work. Justin @outofstepdotnet

Great podcast from a fellow Keith - listened to the episode with Nic from Frail Body & it rocked. Will be checking out future & past episodes 🙏🏻

The best podcast in the scene
Keith gets the guests we’ve always wanted to hear from and asks the questions most don’t have the gall to ask. Will listen until he decides to call it quits.
  • ByTheSlice
    Quality podcast about hardcore/punk/indie.
Keith keeps mentioning to leave a review for this podcast at the tail end of every episode, & I decided to because the interviews are so compelling & informative. I love this podcast! 🩵🖤🩵🖤🩵

Exactly the show I was looking for
I couldn’t have come up with a better concept for a show on punk and hardcore—respect on the past, but not stuck there. I am enjoying the mix of guests, which is helping me discover lots of great newer bands, and catching me up with old favorites. Keith cares about the scene and the guests and it gives the show a lot of credibility. I also love that there’s an emphasis on mental health. That’s part of what lured me back to the scene….artists giving voice to those issues. The Pat Flynn interview was truly moving. Same for J Robbins. Great places to start! This is another golden era of hardcore and punk, and for people like me who love the scene and appreciate the progressive energy coming from it these days, shows like this deepen that love. It is perfect for old heads and new heads.

    Great Podcast
I’m writing this review since Keith is so desperate to get to 300 reviews 😂😂 But seriously, I’ve listened to a few episodes now, and this is a great podcast for interviews with interesting guests from subversive musicians. Well produced and always enlightening, I’ll be listening to each new episode for the foreseeable future
  • christopherxlee
    But first….
Let me ask, how are you doing today?
  • Pizzaguy81
    Love it.
Keith’s a great interviewer. Big fan of asking people how they’re doing at the start of the conversation. Humanizes the whole thing. Keep on keeping on buddy.
  • GeofftheChef
    So siiiick!
Only post-rock/noise podcast I listen to, not cause I’m closed off to others. This is just genuinely killing it on the questions I want to hear and the artists I wanted to know more about. Thanks!

Great host and meaningful dialogue with guests
I tune in most weeks whether I’ve heard of the guest or not. Keith is a very polite host, always asking thoughtful questions of the guests that span their careers and lives. He seems genuinely curious which translates to a welcoming environment for the guests and allows them to share freely. Recommended for other music nerds who love learning how your favorite artists built their careers and what they love about them.

    Fantastic podcast
I love this podcast, this podcast has been keeping my company on the construction sites for the past couple of months. Really cool to hear the context behind all the music. Very thoughtful host.
  • jessie.maas
    A new favorite
Keith really has a knack for connecting with his guests, everyone always seems to be so comfortable and the conversation flows easily and is engaging to listen to. I found myself starting with bands I already knew (like Geoff Rickly from Thursday) but have found myself going down the rabbit hole of artists I’m unfamiliar with just to hear more (the sign of a great host in my opinion). Long live the new scene.
  • boylikesnoise
    Great podcast for hardcore enthusiasts
I thoroughly enjoy these podcasts. Great interviewer. Just finished listening to the Rob Fish episode. Keep up the good work
  • austinkihn
    So rad
I hope I get to be review #200. So many great artists on this podcast and each episode is the perfect length: informative without being indulgent. It’s starting to feel like I personally know Keith, so maybe that’s weird? Either way, I’m into it and you should be too.

    So Good!!!
Behind the scenes of some of my favourite art! What could be better. Listening to the Travis Shettel episode now and remembering when I saw them in Reading, PA with MewithoutYou in 2007. So Good!!!! Also, love the diversity of artists that you interview! I love Wilderun and was stoked to listen to that one. Kurt Balou, Stephen Brodsky, Adam McGrath, Toby Morrell, Chris Enriquez, Chris Higdon, Norman Brannon! Come On! Also, the format and the quality of the podcast is fantastic! Thanks!!! ——- Update Feb. 23 2024: Just listened to the J. Robbin’s episode. Such good questions, conversation, insights, etc. The patience and the selfless ability to care about the artists and the stories they are telling is refreshing and makes for a super enjoyable listen. Thanks so much for these episodes and deep dives into the music that brings vitality into my life. Cheers. Sean Rees.

    Nostalgic and inspiring
Very excited to stumble upon this show. While I am not familiar with many newer bands on here, I enjoy all episodes, but especially the hardcore bands from Y2K era that I grew up on, many of which I had not thought of in many years!! These episode leave me surprised that the artists are still around, thankful for the time I spent participating in dc hardcore scene as performer and fan, and inspired to write new music or at least noodle around on my bass!!!! Love this. Thank you for the stories!

Keith! I’ve been waiting for the day you talk to someone on Thrice and I’m so stoked that you got to talk to Riley, one of my favorite drummers ever! So happy you got to talk to him and very excited to hear that they’re still working on the new album. Hope you get to talk to the rest of the guys from the band as well. -Teek
