Homesick for Bay AreaGreat modern quilt resourceQuilt Buzz hosts let their phenomenal guests take center stage and (gratefully) keep chatty fill to a minimum. There’s a lightening round at the end, which humanizes their superstar guests and is a lot of fun. Big bonus to new quilters like me and others who like to keep learning is that each episode’s show notes has dozens of links to social media, instructional blogs, and other things mentioned during the course of the interview. (Thank you for that. It’s no small job.) I’m eager to go back to episodes I’ve missed before finding this podcast.

Outta here 0629Nervous giggle is very annoyingLaughter is great, but that background nervous giggle is very annoying. Can’t you filter it out? Turn off mics that aren’t in use? Anything would help. If I were into finding out more about novice quilters who are on social media, I would probably enjoy this podcast more.

AnneNeedsAUniqueNicknameNeeds audio editing, but good contentI like the format and the guest selection is great. The interviews would benefit from being more conversational, but overall the interesting guests make for great content. But the audio editing really needs a step up, there’s so much gross mouth noise in some episodes that I can’t bear to listen to the interview. Please download audacity and use the noise gate function to edit the audio for each voice recording individually. Each guest will probably require a different noise gate, so listen closely and adjust the settings. There are some great tutorials available on how to do this.

maplelakemomIncredibly fun Quilty podcastThe Quilt Buzz podcast is just about the perfect balance of quilting fun while highlighting personal journeys of their quilty guests. The hosts have a fun way about themselves, they ask great questions and the lightning round is seriously what I look forward to the most!

MNQuilt3rLovely quilty podcastLearned about this podcast from The Quilter on Fire. Started from the beginning. What a joyful group of quilters. It’s so delightful to listen to the next generation of quilters. Excellent guests. Found my newest favorite modern quilt book written by Amanda. Keep up the great content! Thank you!

PodannoymousPat of Art Gallery Quilts, 067Wow I love Art Gallery Solids!!! My favourite! I loved learning about the fabric and its thread count, assuming that is why it feels so good! Pat sounded so interesting, will now look for her on public media! Thanks for interviewing her! I really enjoy your podcasts!
-
pat vhthe best!!!this is by far my favorite podcast! i look forward to (every other) thursday, knowing amanda, wendy & anna will be with me on my commute, or- even better - in my sewing studio with me!!!

Gdub99999Thanks!!! I’ve found my pplI enjoy this podcast so much. It’s like gabbing with the gals. I just got into quilting and its nice to hear the stories of others. I love that it’s so conversational. The podcast is so fluid there don’t ever seem to be awkward pauses or dull moments. I feel the authenticity of the interviewee.. I am also learning and finding new ppl in this new world/ community. Being the only quilter I “know” I’m finding this podcast so fun and refreshing. Would love to “see” it one day.. perhaps the ladies can interview each other. Would be great to hear from some tips on how they balance real life/ quilting. And tips on time management for the rapid questions. I’d love to be so good I end up here one day. Thanks for what you’re doing ladies. Keep it up.
-
bstobart15Love!This is the first and only quilt podcast that I have listened to, but I love it so far. The hosts are pleasant and several of the guests have been quilters that I follow and love, so it has been great to hear these interviews. I love the rapid quilt questions, you can pick up tips and tricks from each guest. Keep it coming!
-
eleventhavenewMy peopleOf the many quilting podcasts I’ve listened to, this is the one with “my people” I don’t feel like anyone is trying to promote their brand or persona, it’s just real conversation between friends. The hosts are so relatable, and it’s so fun to hear from quilters I already follow on Instagram, etc.
-
@wildplumlane.quiltsSo much fun!I LOVE this podcast!! The interviews feel like a fun conversation between friends and have me laughing along during my commute every time. It is so much fun hearing about everyone’s journey into the quiltiverse and I’m really glad to have learned about quilters I may not have come across otherwise. Keep up the great work!!! (And…I think I’m the only person who wears shoes while sewing!) @wildplumlane.quilts

EBGordonMy favorite quilty podcast!I love listening to quilty podcasts, but this one is my favorite!! The interviews are awesome, and the girls’ rapport is top notch. They have the best guests, and the rapid fire questions never disappoint! If you’re a quilter, this is a must listen.
-
melissafitzFun and informative podcast!I am a very avid podcast listener (mostly news and *guilty pleasure* Dateline) and — having gone through all of the DLs — I’ve recently started listening to quilt-related podcasts. The format for the Quilt Buzz podcast is fun, the hosts are super easy to spend time with and their interest in their guests is clearly genuine. I end up following most of their guests on Instagram and love the exposure Quilt Buzz opens to different parts of the quilting universe. Great podcast!

AZ QuilterPodcast ReviewI just finished your first podcast. I have been working backwards as I walk each morning. I enjoyed every one of them! You girls have such great symmetry. You are a joy to listen to and I love each of your guests as well. I am so looking forward to your new podcasts. My only regret is that you are not publishing them weekly!
-
jonesyyyyyyyyyyyy1Keeps the inspiration flowing!I love this podcast! It’s so much fun learning about other quilters in a way you never could just from reading their posts. Listing to episodes keeps me motivated and inspired when I’m not quilting, and it is a constant reminder of how incredibly awesome and supportive the quiltstagram community is!
-
michjakeyI’m loving itAbsolutely LOVE this podcast! Super helpful, interesting, and entertaining! Love everything I have been able to learn. Keep the episodes coming 👏👏👏
-
NJWalkGoodGriefQuilterI, on the other hand, absolutely LOVE the same questions at the end of each interview d/t my curiosity, sometimes practically guessing how the guest will answer now, after getting acquainted with the quilt artist. Beginning my quilting journey as a retired nurse, this podcast is filling up my sewing reverie with new found friends. Thank you for the fun, spectacular, easygoing sharing, the new ideas for color/fabrics and mostly, for finding out that it’s acceptable to have an individual, signature style when creating! I quite enjoy this pod more than my guild 😬.
-
Joyful519Quilting fun & infoI recently found this podcast and in in love with it. I love the questions especially towards the end. It gives me new references of people to follow and increases my creativity juices. I especially appreciate the painstaking details that they write out after the podcast with reference points of things I know I want to look up, and people I want to follow her Instagram. Thank you! Keep up the excellent work.

quilt all dayI just can’tI love quilty podcasts but after listening to 5 or 6 episodes, I just can’t. Even if a guest might be interesting, the format is so uninteresting. We know exactly what question comes next, and typically the guest gives a short, expected answer to each question because there is no impetus for them to expound on anything unless they are just really chatty. It makes it painful to sit through. A good interviewer listens to what the person says, and responds with a more probing question or a relevant connection is pointed out, etc. SOMETHING other than a list of boring questions for every single guest. How do the interviewers keep themselves from screaming out of sheer boredom from asking the same crap each time? I’d rather spend my long commute in silence than try to get through one more episode.
-
TDicksFun listenListened to this whole podcast while pressing a zillion HSTs open and really enjoyed it! Feels like chatting with friends about quilting (which I guess is what they’re doing 😂) and getting to know your quilty crushes a little better.
-
psthreadsLove!Love how it’s fun and lighthearted! Wish it was longer and there were more episodes. It definitely feels like I’m hanging out with my quilting homies!
-
MaggieMaggioSome structural issuesI have enjoyed listening to these interviews, but the set up is not working. I follow all 3 "hosts" on Instagram so I know a little about each, but I think listeners of this podcast could benefit from establishing more of a report. Who are the hosts? I would have devoted the first few episodes to getting to know the hosts and then introduce other guests. Also, three interviewers and one guest is a weird ratio. I'd have 1-2 hosts/episode. Sorta Awesome is a great podcast that has 3 hosts but rarely are all 3 on the same episode and I don't think I've ever heard one where all 3 interview one person. Nice premise but it needs some work.

kidquiltzBuzzin over this!Everything you could want or need: women, quilts, laughter, accents, stories. Right from the start the chemistry feels genuine and natural. Looking forward to more episodes 🖤
-
Amanda726Peed a little 🤷🏽♀️Love the lighthearted chatter that these ladies are offering! If you wanna hear from quilty rockstars and laugh while doing so, this podcast is for you. Looking forward to more shenanigans!
-
SarahwithaStitchExcited for more!So excited for a podcast focused on modern quilting! This was a great first episode and I am looking forward to the future ones. Most podcasts take a few episodes to get into the grove- but this one starts out really strong. I look forward to getting to know the hosts more and seeing them develop their own podcast voice.
-
Sp_squaredFinally a Quilting Podcast that speaks to me!I was hesitant that this would be another okay podcast about quilting, but it wasn’t. Thank you for talking to modern designers for today’s quilters.
-
Too Lazy To Create A NamListen and sewPodcast virgin here. If every podcast is as delightful as this one then I can understand why they’re so popular.
-
RosiechildSo excited!Very excited for this new show!
-
quiltkimQuilting Rockstars!I loved the first episode and look forward to many more. It’s so nice to learn a bit about people you admire through social media. I laughed so hard at the “thread between toes” comment!
-
stacykennyQuilt Talk 10/10Yay! It was so fun to hear everyone’s voices I this first episode. Hearing the background to the start of quilting careers is so good. Pass the cheese 🧀
-
Blahblahblag.......Love this quilty podcast! This is a fun, light-hearted podcast! It made me laugh, and I loved learning more about what inspires the people whose work inspires me.
-
sarahmarie.vdbA Lighthearted ListenThis is such a lovely contribution to the quiltiverse! It feels like Amanda, Anna, Wendy and their guest (hi, Lorna! Ep. 1) are sitting around the table, a modern quilting bee. It’s a great combo of thoughtful and fun questions. 20 minutes is a perfect length - just long enough for that bit of piecing or block you were going to squeeze in, without such a long commitment that it goes on the “listen later” list (about as long as the WIP list...!).
-
TheMaeyuSuch fun!I got a good laugh out of listening to this. Such a fun listen, and I enjoyed the variety of questions asked, and learning more about members from the quilting community.
-
BlueDogMakesLovely!!I love this podcast!! I mostly listen to political podcasts and it is such a nice break from the craziness going on. Plus their voices are so melodic 🤍🤍
-
DhstitchesFun and happy, relaxed and freshJust one episode in and I think I’m going to love this podcast. The hosts are affable and comfortable and they’re enjoying themselves, which makes it an easy listen. They mentioned several websites and makers I wasn’t familiar with—always love hearing about new resources in this way. The show notes are complete and easy to find for an overall grade of A+. Looking forward to the next episode. 😊

HeldthevioletsWhat we really wanna know!Insta is full of beautiful seams, amazing threads, drool worthy designs.. but I want I want to know more about the people behind these creations! This podcast is full of those questions and I can’t wait for more! Things have been stressful lately but I was able to head out for a walk with my dogs, listen along and LAUGH along for a few minutes in what has been a very long three weeks.. and who knows how much longer! I look forward to new episodes, new conversations, and discovering new quilty crushes of my own. I can’t wait for more!
-
Lisa VerizziFun to meet different QuiltersI enjoyed the podcast. I work full-time so I have a limited amount of time to check out new people and designers. I’m looking forward learning about people that I might not meet otherwise.
-
pppoodleReally fun podcast!I listen to a lot of podcasts and this one is a fun addition to the rotation. The hosts are charming and it feels like you suddenly have three new quilting friends. A minor criticism : I would love a clearer intro part- Give a clear bio of your special guest and say why they’re being interviewed — some of us are listening to learn about the quilt community so we don’t actually know who the guests are. There were times when I felt “left out” because there were too many inside jokes or acronyms, etc. Overall, a super engaging listen and looking forward to more episodes!
-
MinnnnnnnnzeycatReally cool quilting podcastReally happy to have found a creative podcast on quilting. We are all staying at home sewing and this is going to be a staple.
