    Duma King
Need to know what my favorite podcast dudes think about one of my favorite King novels before reality becomes a just okay King novel.

The thing about the method is….it works
The only thing that sullies my enjoyment is that I can’t figure out if they’re reading off Wikipedia or coming up with a five sentence summary off the dome. I wish either Michael or Cameron would address this directly.

    Adds so much flavor
Listening to this podcast has increased my enjoyment of media across the board. The historical context and techniques of analysis presented here are fantastic tools to be able to apply to other media objects. While it's been slightly disappointing to realize how many shows and movies are essentially bad remixes of compelling pre-existing work, the things that are truly interesting and different now stand taller and shine more brightly in my eyes. 5 stars.

    Listener’s Story
I gotta say, I also kinda like this podcast. I do think the podcast is good. Hold on now, wait a minute. Listener, the podcast is good. The podcast is pretty good. I enjoyed listening to the podcast. It's weird and kind of formless and it doesn't have suspense in a traditional sense. It's full of the worst words Ranged Touch has ever thought up. And somehow it feels utterly charming to me. It might be a master, it might be Mozart.

I don’t like Stephen King but I love this podcast
I have personal beef with Steve: when I was a teen I worked the ticket counter at a movie theater that he frequently went to and one time he was very rude to me and he has been my sworn enemy ever since. I have vowed to NEVER read any of his books but I love this podcast and am happy that I have a way of knowing what’s going on in his books without breaking my sacred oath

    Tak!
I absolutely love your podcast. As a young horror writer and lifelong King fan, I take delight in youse guys’ antics. Shoutout to Bugboy Michael and the show’s unofficial catchphrase of “yeah” and then a long pause. I like all your episodes I’ve heard, but my favorite is Desperation. Taks a lot, Niko.

    I think the podcast is…good

Great Podcast About Steve's Many Murdies
These guys talk about the many murdies of Uncle Steve. If you pay for the podcast, they'll even drink RC Cola live on air! They say they're going to "end all this ding-dong". What could that possibly mean? You could consolt the ancient scrolls, but why do that when you could listen and find out? Come on, do it for Steve.

Found you guys through the Triple Click folks. As an on and off King fan I’m really enjoy the humor and insight. Thanks for what you do.

Great podcast, great crazy frog review
Rip my best friend Judy, she would have loved me telling her that Cameron gave crazy frog the only 6 star rating in their 5 year podcast, Just King Things, a monthly podcast about reading the books of Steven King in publication order. I would tell her to listen but ya know.

Came for the literary analysis, stayed for the Alex Jones is a wizard bit.
Good ep 👍 If I could be so bold, I would love if you covered another season of Haven for a future bonusode. That was one of the funniest bonusodes I can remember and I know there’s got to be more humor that can be mined from that show. Regardless, cheers to Cameron and all versions of Micheal 🥂

I have forgotten the face of my father (and I feel fine)
People said it was impossible to do. They said that you could not cover everything that is dark tower related in a podcast form without going crazy. My favorite podcast dared to dream. Tragically, “Radio Free Mid-World” succumbed to that madness. However these two guys have less self preservation and managed to cover every dark tower book, at the expense of their sanity. 6 stars. The Crazy Frog of podcasts.

    Don’t believe their lies
I have listened to every episode (paying 5 dollars a month for the bonus episodes) for however long they have perpetrated this farce, and they have yet to admit that they swapped voices. It’s unconscionable, really.

    Napkins are handy
    1. Just King Things open parenthesis hosted by Cameron and Michael close parenthesis is a podcast dedicated to the works of Stephen King period 2. The hosts comma who are very honest with their opinions comma provide an interesting and often hilarious breakdown of the books and ephemera of all things Kingian period 3. Cameron and Michael leave no part of the books undiscussed comma including the frequent song references that Stephen King puts in his stories period 4. They both hate Bob Dylan open parenthesis and Hey Jude by the Beattles close parenthesis 5. Five Stars exclamation point

If you’re going to listen to a Stephen King podcast, it might as well be this one.

    Bob Dylan Haters Unite
Thank you to the guys for rereading The Dark Tower series so I don’t have to 💜 A funny and insightful deep dive into the works of Steven King that perfectly exemplifies the love/hate relationship so many of us have with his works. Why is he like that? The hosts try to answer this question and more!

    Thank you
This show gets me through my work days and I’m so glad to listen to two guys discuss how bob dylan is clearly trash 😂 facts!
  • Perrsun
    I was right
When the last Dark Tower book came out I actually felt the ending was fitting. I am glad to, after hundreds of hours of podcasts, have been justified.

    Castle Discordia St?
In case either of y’all were looking to move to the Houston, TX suburbs anytime soon (I don’t recommend it), may I interest you in a house on Castle Discordia St in Katy, TX? I came across it recently at my job - I’m sure no horrors will befall you there! Just around the corner is Rose Trellis St, Stone Tower Ct, Gilead St, and the most atrocious (by my reckoning): Crimson Flagg Ct. Would give more than five stars if I could, no one does it like y’all

    wolves of akkala
every time y’all say “wolves of the calla” i hear it as “wolves of akkala,” as in, the region in the northeast corner of hyrule in the legend of zelda breath of the wild. is akkala the maine of botw? it *is* in the northeast and full of weird ancient things trying to kill you. would love to hear your thoughts on this

    I'd already read Carrie
So far since I've been keeping up with Just King Things, I've been convinced to read Sun Dog and watch Roadhouse ('89). Who knows what will be next!
  • BBBBBBBBSSSSSSSSS
Haven’t stopped listening since I heard about it
Interesting, thoughtful, hilarious, and weirdly soothing? Wouldn’t have thought I’d want to listen to two men w/PhDs review SK novels before I fall asleep at night, but here we are. Highly recommend

I may be driving myself mad
I found this podcast from multiple recommendations on other podcasts. I decided to binge the whole thing listening back to back while working in a machine shop in rural New Hampshire. I’ve listened to 8 hours of this a day for the last week and a half and it’s now all I talk to anyone about. I’ve driven off friends, my family worries about me. I’ve stopped caring for my children or myself. There is nothing else but Just King Things. I do this for only one reason. I do it for Steve.

    The year is 2010…
…the country is reeling from the carnage of the rescission and the death of Leslie Nelson. I am 14 years old and reading my very first Stephen King novel: Cell(2009). I recall thinking the book was okay. I am very excited to find out in spring 2025 if my opinion was correct.

    Now That’s What I Call a Podcast
I’ve listened to every episode of Just King Things and although doing so has not compelled me to read a single page of Stephen King, it did get me to read Michael Wehunt’s Greener Pastures, which is a phenomenal horror short story collection, and I am deeply grateful to the show’s hosts Michael and Cameron for recommending it once, probably many years ago at this point. 5 stars.

    Found My Book Club
I started to read Stephen King this year and I had so many thoughts and no one to share them with. I am soo happy I found this podcast. It adds so much to my reading journey.

    For Steve!
If I had a nickel for every time this podcast had an evil manta ray in it I’d have two nickels which isn’t a lot but it’s weird that it happened twice

    inspiring !
i’m a huge fan of this podcast and its bonus episodes are well worth subscribing to. the hosts put so much into tracing the history of stephen king’s life and those in his orbit. i recently got to attend the theatrical premiere of The Stand in santa monica (yes i was there for 8 hours) which ended with a q&a with mick garris, who has adapted a ton of steve’s books, moderated by mike flanagan. i wouldn’t have known what a total genius mick garris was without listening to the bonusodes of just king things, where cameron often sings his praises. it was such a cool experience to hear garris talk about his work, including some of the stuff i also heard about first on king things! and yes afterward i shook his hand- i did it for cameron

I do like Bob Dylan, though
Great critical review of King’s work. Can he be problematic? Yes! Do we love him anyway? Of course! My favorite podcast as no one wants to talk about Stephen King with me. 🙁

Doin’ it for our darling boys
Joined the patreon after listening to the hearts in Atlantis ep because Cameron said he would deliver some information that would ruin Michael’s next six months. Love the show!
  • sawyer sipes
    steve
picked this bad boy back up after a year and change of not listening by showing my boys the IT episode on a 7-hr car drive through california. i forgot about the racism and the homophobic stuff and the antisemitism stuff and the big pot of beans and me and my friends had a blast muttering “steve” or “stephen” under our breaths whenever he made a show of himself hitting his nuts in the stands. knocking somebody’s hotdog out of their hand. now i listen to the show at work and am really psyched about the dark tower stuff and might read it and wow there’s a lot of friends at the table sangfielle stuff in there i don’t recall if they mentioned it as a touchstone but it’d be a crazy coincidence anyway i hope you kooky boys are having a good time thanks for the podcast xoxo
  • Harlan!
    Highly recommended!
Fantastic podcast. Has given me the uncontrollable urge to share Stephen King trivia (and then explain why I know it by plugging the show), plus it made me unable to hear Bill Skarsgård’s Pennywise as anything other than a Michael-and-Cameron-doing-a-bit voice. Hoo hoo hoo.
  • astarion_kisser
    great podcast
in the Shining episode one of them (I think cameron) said that The Shining getting a sequel would be like we got another Baldurs gate game and I just think it’s funny that both things happened . also great podcast

The Kings are about an idea...
I'm still waiting for the analysis of the best gang in Freeside, but for now all the talk about this Steve guy is pretty interesting too.
  • Laser Sword Maniac
    Confused but optimistic
A friend got me into this podcast so I could understand their love of homestuck and while (50 episodes in!) I'm not learning much about the works of Andrew Hussie, I assume it will all come together soon.
