It’s has changed my life

I am an adult with ADHD and absolutely cannot sit and read. Finding this Podcast that allows me to hear the Bible is a blessing. It has changed my life. I have never been able to read the whole Bible and hear the message(s) until now. I have always been a practicing Catholic, but never read the entire Bible. I started the Podcast in June of 2024 and now listen daily. Thank you so much for this resource. I also purchased the great ascension bible to follow along with and study. These resources helped this old guy who cannot sit a read the Bible, to finally hear and experience the word of GOD! May GOD continue to bless you all for providing this resource for people like me who have focus issues when reading.

Every day look forward. As Jeff Cabins and Father, says that you will get something knew. Amazing how each day God speaks to you through this scripture and discussion. Look forward everyday and the peace I feel when I listen.

Father Mike makes it interesting, fun and valuable to go thru the Bible in a year with him. I haven’t found any other format that goes over the word, teaches in ways that are understandable to me, and says a daily prayer over me. This is my third year doing it with him. He has a great sense of humor and a special way of sharing what the Word says. I was raised as a Catholic but for about 40+ years I have belonged to a Nondenominational Church. The first year I went thru all the books with him but since then I have gone back to my NKJV of the Bible and just skip over the books that aren’t in my Bible. I wake up every morning with a feeling of hopefulness, usefulness and discipline and I wonder what I will learn from the Lord today because he Word of God is living and He brings newness of purpose and life every time I go thru it with Father Mike and the Lord.

Great Way to Learn The Bible

This podcast has helped me to finally commit to going through the entire Bible, and especially the Old Testament, which I struggled with in the past. It provides a systematic approach to learning the Bible by grouping various books together on a timeline. The priest who narrates the podcast (Mike Schmitz), offers helpful insight at the end of each reading to highlight what the Scripture is teaching, and he also makes it enjoyable for the listener. I highly recommend this podcast to anyone who has a desire to learn the Bible, but has trouble finding time to commit to it on a regular basis.

An Endless Resource

I love that I can listen anytime anywhere. Bible in Year serves as a great prayer resource when you need to go deeper or get “back on track.” Father Mike’s insights and prayer after the Bible readings are a great reminder of Gods personal love for you and for me.

Learning, Challenging, Growing in Faith

I started my journey with Fr. Mike thanks to the Hallow app, hearing his homilies and then landed on the Catechism in a Year. After a full year of the Catechism, I’m now 238 days into the Bible in a year and learning and growing even more. I am so excited to hear the New Testament explained more clearly. As a lifelong Catholic, then a Catholic school teacher, I cannot believe all I have learned throughout the past two years. 🤯 Thank you for this gift!

I have almost completed four trips around the sun with this podcast and it just keeps getting better as I listen to the word of God. What a blessing!

My grandson knew I have read the Bible every year since the year of his birth-2000. This year he graduated from Texas A&M and he and a group of his Corp of Cadet friends went to Bible study at St Mary’s together. They got really busy so decided to do Father Mike’s Bible in a Year podcast together because they could listen while doing other things and be sure to get the Word. He told me about it and I decided to do it with them. I grew up in the Southern Baptist church (my dad was a deacon) so I have been absolutely amazed at what a wonderful blessing Father Mike has been to me. And my personal trainer who is Catholic bought the Ascension Bible for me so I can read along. There are no words to express my thanks for this blessing but THANK YOU AND THANK FATHER MIKE!!! I have ordered the Catechism in a Year to do in 2025.

I have always wanted to read the entire bible but it seemed so daunting and I was never able to get past the first few books. The way this is broken down makes it incredibly manageable. And Father Mike’s discussion of the daily chapters is so very helpful for my understanding of God’s word and my faith. I’m a Bishop Barron fan, but now I’m conflicted

Fr Mike, Thank you so much for giving me the continued journey of faith. For a decade or more I’ve been a Bishop Barron listener. He does such a great job! But, I was looking for a different daily routine to help in my faith. And, literally January 1st 2024 I started and have kept up. Sometimes I miss but no worries I might play a makeup session on my way to work and then the next on my way home. It has been great to hear your words after you do the readings. My favorite moment is when you say,”man o man” it gets me everytime. The world will be a better place when everyone gives Christ and his Church a chance. So much beauty. Keep up the good work. Don

I always thought I had known much about the Bible or I guess enough about the Bible as a Catholic, but the way Father Mike explains the text and goes into the deep dive of translation of the original text is phenomenal, absolutely life changing.

I remember starting this out on day one and thinking to myself how I could stay on (as a non catholic) for the whole time . And here I am on day 198 - though I fell out of it for a while - but yes, I’m back and since the Chronicles and Kings reading I’ve been so intrigued by how intricate the characters are woven and all the stories connecting to give a sense of understanding.

From confusion to contemplation

The Bible was always so confusing a foreign to me. Because we are so far removed from this ancient time and language, it almost didn’t seem real to me when I was growing up. As an adult reading through with Fr. Mike, it is finally making sense and in doing so, I’m able to reflect and contemplate on God’s word and understand his love and plan for humanity.
