    Insightful and interesting
I have been listening to carrying wayward since season four, and it’s the perfect thing to listen to on walks, long drives, or doing chores. I appreciate the insights into the characters I love so much by Drew and Mary—I can tell they are true fans and want to give every aspect of this show consideration. I especially enjoy the attention they give to guest stars and recurring characters and don’t just focus on the main guys. There’s so much to love about carrying wayward. This podcast is a must for people who really want to do a deep dive into Supernatural. I’m looking forward to hearing about my favorite episodes in the seasons they have left!

Got me back on the road
I avoided anything to do with supernatural after the finale, cause it was so painful but when I discovered this podcast it gave me a chance to get back to it and separate the characters from the creators and the ability to be critical but obsessed as well. I love you guys so much.

    Insightful and amazing
I've been spending my Friday mornings with Mary & Drew for the last few months, and finally decided to write a review. There isn't another podcast that takes on the show Supernatural with more insight, thoughtfulness, and humor. They break down every episode and extract all of the most interesting bits that makes SPN so great and terrible at the same time.

    Funny fun and thoughtful
Marie and Drew have a fun thoughtful conversation about anything and everything supernatural. They start off with a quick summary of the episode and have segments to talk about the episode. Marie has severe supernatural brain-worm but this is Drew’s first time watching. They are almost to releasing French mistake and the one episode most Dean Cas people including me are excited for which is the Man who would be King. I usually listen to the podcast on Spotify but wanted to leave a review here as well 🥰

Nuance and humor with a side of hot takes
Finding Carrying Wayward was such a win. Every episode is filled with thoughtful conversation that manages to address the heavier topics of the show without losing the humor that winds through Supernatural. I especially appreciate the dedication to separating writing decisions from character decisions. I love to pick apart the media I consume and Drew and Marie have made that all too enjoyable! They’ve created a community of people who want to discuss the show respectfully and with nuance.

    Supernatural Podcast is great.
Love the podcast. I recently started supernatural over because of this podcast. The analysis on the characters, their choices and the writing teams decisions in how they portray and write the brothers and everyone on the show, and the addition of a great lore segments is amazing. Only sad thing is that I managed to finish the podcast too fast and now waiting for more episodes :).

Like Harry Potter and the sacred text but better
I love this show so much! I got into the pod because I wanted to rewatch supernatural but felt cynical about it after the season finale. Carrying wayward helped me feel excited about this story again because Mary and drew offer so much new energy and insight. Episodes are split into two halves- one ‘sacred’ analysis of the text where the show is engaged with at face values and you can enjoy the characters and plots at face value- and the other half focuses on critical analysis. This way you get all the fun of talking about supernatural as a fan while at the same time having serious conversations about the flaws in its creation. Always look fwd to fridays because of this show :)

    Love this podcast!!
I absolutely love listening to this podcast! I don’t tend to actually agree with them on a lot of parts but that’s why I absolutely love it! It’s really great getting to hear a different perspective on the show and on the characters. I don’t have anyone around me to talk about or analyze these characters so it’s really interesting hearing other peoples opinions on it! And all of the things that Marie and Drew bring up really make you question the characters and what you think of them, and why you think they’re doing and reacting to these things. Overall it’s a really really great listen and analysis whether you agree with their conclusions or not!

    Love It!
I just recently started listening to this podcast. It’s great to revisit supernatural and look at the series through their commentary!! They are both so funny. I love that Drew hasn’t seen the show and it watching it for the first time. Would definitely recommend this podcast for spn fans!

    Incredible analysis of a favorite
I love love love this podcast so much! They do an amazing job of breaking down the characters, their motivations, and does a great queer reading of a show that’s infamous for their queer baiting. I love the guests they bring on to highlight mental health, race and queer identities.

    Love this approach
I love the fact they split it into in universe ‘story time’ and real world ‘critical time’ allows for a lot of interesting conversations on both sides without discounting the other. They are both so funny and I love that one has already seen it and one is basically watching for the first time with the podcast. Love you guys

    Found through TikTok
I’ve been watching supernatural since I was 7 and the pilot first aired, I love the show and have for 15 years and I love that I found this podcast. I love that there diving deeper then surface level and pointing out and making connections that I never made despite the amount of times I’ve watched the show. I also adore how the two host treat and respect the characters. 10/10 absolutely amazing and I could ramble on

    Rekindling My Joy of SPN
I found this podcast through my tiktok FYP (that algorithm is too good!), and even though I haven’t watched supernatural in years, as a tumblr user (yes, still) I’ve continued to be in the “supernatural fandom fandom”. This podcast though has rekindled my love of the show. The in-depth analysis each episode is amazing! Your guest stars wonderful! I love that you don’t gloss over the problematic parts of each episode and thoroughly explore Dean from a Bi-Lens. Absolutely amazing. So glad I’ve found this!

In-depth and honest, and very revealing
Mary and Drew are a pleasure to listen to as they discuss all aspects of the series Supernatural episode by episode. Their style of discussion is complex as are the topics they focus on. Never just a review of the plot, they dive into discussion of themes like bisexuality, misogyny and racism. Listening to their thoughts has given me an ability to rewatch and enjoy each episode so much more. I didn’t understand many layers of the story until I began to follow their work. I highly recommend this podcast.

    Supernatural Analysis and Nostalgia
Supernatural is my favorite show of all time and I have seen it all the way through! I love the characters and the story, it is so fun and nostalgic going back through it with them. It is also so cathartic and interesting hearing the different analysis and interpretation. I personally love critical time because while supernatural is my favorite show it is not without flaws and flaws that should be addressed. I honestly think by addressing thoughts flaws it makes the show better. Such a fun time and whole heartedly recommend!

This podcast warms my queer little heart
Thank you for making this podcast so I don’t have to! I’ve been a fan of Supernatural since I was in eighth grade and season 4 was first airing, which means I have both a lot of feelings about and a lot of critiques of the show. I could (and sometimes do) talk about it for hours, and listening to someone else have those in-depth discussions really fills my heart. Your ongoing discussions about queercoding and Dean’s bisexuality mean so much to me as a queer, non-binary listener, and I look forward to your continuing analysis as you work your way through this beautiful and infuriating show. Many thanks!

    Love it!
Drew makes me feel like I’m watching the show for the first time and reminds me of all the feelings I had and why I love the show despite its shortcomings. And Marie is amazing at making me re-think or expand on my understanding of the episode. The Holiday Special Episode made my week, the Canon or Fanon game they played made me burst out laughing remembering all the ridiculous plots that are actually Canon. And Drews excitement to reach those plots are so contagious.

    Lovely✨
I happened upon Carrying Wayward by accident on Twitter and am so glad to have tuned in. Marie and Drew are attentive and accommodating hosts who clearly share enthusiasm for the series. I have recently stumbled into the Supernatural fandom (I know) so the dynamic between the hosts (longtime repeat viewer + someone who saw a few seasons before dropping it) is really fun to hear! Thank you for your thoughtful analysis. I look forward to the future of this podcast✨
