    Still not for me
This podcast taught me all about "bimbofication hypnosis" and other things that a man of my age has no business knowing... (UPDATE 7/13: In the latest episode, they described an actor as being "not corseted" but having an "internal corset." They concluded from this that the man was, therefore, "snetch." At which point the one they call Biz remarked that the musical was "not giving cubism." ...I am now convinced that these women do not know what many ordinary words mean and are creating new words in order to compensate.) I think I still get why other people like it. It's just not for me.

great pod! not sure why so many of the low star reviews call them β€œmean” as i feel the ladies are generally very tame and respectful with their snark!

    Love love love
I truly enjoy this podcast - it took me a couple of episodes to really understand the premise but once I did I was hooked. Biz, Sam, and Alexi are so well informed with really impressive knowledge of art and fashion that totally draws you in. Can’t get enough - guess I'm a nymphet alumnus πŸ‘©πŸ»β€πŸŽ“

    Hit or miss
The topics are interesting enough for it to be entertaining but the analysis is lackluster. One host is smart-ish but a complete pseud, one is maybe slightly above average intelligence, and one is just a dithering idiot. And for the love of God don’t file your nails while on a microphone!!

    the people’s podcast
biz, alexi, and sam are cool, intelligent, funny, deeply likeable hosts with excellent chemistry and great taste. i am a hater by trade, but it is kind of impossible not to love these girlies and this podcast. a lot of cultural analysis podcasts fall into the trap of becoming overly self-indulgent and esoteric, but nymphet alumni tackles niche subject matter in a way that feels really genuine and makes listeners feel like they're part of the conversation. ngl i envy the teenage girl who stumbles upon this podcast and meets the version of herself that made it out of the suburbs. when i was a nymphet we had to settle for rookie mag.

    she doesn’t have the range
i listened to around 4-5 episodes and while i enjoyed the first few about american apparel & tumblr sleaze, they do not have the range to talk about like…anything racialized. their description and interpretation of hot girl summer was not only weird & wrong, but felt microaggressive. hgs was not just about sleeping around & being a city girl, that was one piece of it. megan thee stallion, herself, said it was about being the best version of you whether that be twerking on a yacht or getting a degree. obviously they are white women, and probably don’t listen to megan thee stallion but they should be more mindful of how they present their topics. (esp when its clear they went to tik tok for a definition instead of the source) they treat these internet topics so seriously but for some reason not this one. this was the episode that made me stop listening but i hope yall have either grown and learned or stopped talking about black women entirely. (also yall being weird about ms blob girl talking about her body/appearance??? be so fr )

Love u but lacking(REVISED AFTER FROU FROU)
Love!!!! Been listening since the beginning and I miss the more structured, researched version of the pod… someone said they’re haphazard now and I agree. They say they have all this research and I want to hear more than two bits of it!!! Like your personalities are fun but I miss when the content shined. I was really looking forward to the spiritual bimbo ep and just felt let down and looking for more🀍 will always be a listener but bring back a deep dive into the aesthetics. EDITED TO SAY OkayπŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’– Frou Frou episode was amazing. 10/10. Thanks girlsπŸ™ˆ You are the research queens.

girls be talking. i love it when girls
i adore this podcast and it’s fun to throw on and unwind/work out to. i seriously don’t get the negative reviews talking about how they’re stupid or don’t know what they’re talking about, or even the ones calling them mean. i especially don’t understand the reviews referencing them to red scare… we all have a little mean girl inside of us, all the members of NA are young, well-educated and bright, and this is literally free content. but i guess haters are fans too. i really don’t want to sound like a white knight. i do wish their audio quality is better, sometimes i wished there was more content or in depth references and links to what they were saying (i think they do this on patreon), but overall, i think they’re doing a stellar job foraging a voice for gen-z. love live nymphet alumni! saranghae πŸ’“

Couldn’t make it through more than two eps
Wanted to like the podcast bc the topics were interesting but these girls are just mean, entitled, and ignorant. So much cringe I had to quit halfway through an episode and come here to write this review warning everyone to steer clear of this disaster of a podcast.

    Room for improvement
Good podcast, Biz and Alexi desperately need a new microphones. Sometimes I wish the episodes had a more clear trajectory, they seem a little scattered and thrown together at the last minute.

I went down a πŸ‡ πŸ•³οΈ of pods & ending up here. TikTok, definitely gave all these women 🧠πŸͺ±s. Hard one star. I mean I wish I could give zero stars. You’ll want every minute back you listened to this.

    these girls are dumb
rly tried with this one. I’m a former tumblr girl zillenial with a fashion degree that I don’t use so this concept really attracted me! Unfortunately, despite their broad vocabularies, these girls are idiots. They’ve adopted the same opinion-making strategies as the red scare girlsβ€” subverting the social norm again and again and again until they’ve landed shakily back on the norm. their attempt at this, though, is unoriginal and far less impressive bc the low stakes nature of the content.

like the topics not the hosts
Everything in me wanted to like this podcast because they address relevant and interesting topics as well as looking at the subject from a lot of lenses. However, the hosts come across as really pretentious and judgemental and their superiority complex toward other people who are just trying to live is really frustrating to hear. As some other people pointed out, they’re just mean and not even in an entertaining way.
  • BananagUrl1997

Overall I like. But there is one thing…
I love to listen to this podcast because the topics are very interesting and relevant. The hosts are clearly educated and make poignant connections and commentary. After listening to the most recent episode β€œThat Girl”, I wanted to give some feedback. Amidst interesting conversation about this phenomenon, there was a discussion point of whether or not That Girl is actually hot. The hosts go into how she’s not hot, and that some of them are pretty, but only because they pay attention to beauty trends. I’m paraphrasing, but it felt really weird to me? Sometimes this pod goes into mean girl territory. It’s fine to have casual banter like this because of the format of the show, but saying things that are super judgmental and not always fair, or coming at topics from a place of superiority, makes me consider the rest of what you’re saying a lot less. It feels pointless and just shows the bias so heavily. I don’t know… maybe a dose of empathy would make this show 5 stars to me.

Soooo good. Like one of my top 3 favorite podcasts. Has the banter/subculture references/pop culture insight like Red Scare without the deplorable politics.

    Good Listen
Pretentious intellectual white New Yorker genzillenials very strongly opinionated with a lack of self awareness of that fact. Or a lack of understanding how this might come off to others. The bias is heavy and unapologetically imposed upon the listener. An air of superiority very much present. However this makes it interesting in combination with the very relevant and indulgent topics if this particular niche is your thing. Fun and entertaining with the right distance. Sometimes abrasive. But unlike any other fashion podcast I’ve heard before. I’d recommend listening I think. Informative and expansive but with an undercurrent of propaganda.

    Obsessed
Only time I've ever felt moved to write a review for a podcast. Found on accident but love everything abt it. The hosts are smart, insightful, cool-girl without being mean vibe, perfect amount of vocal fry. Couldn't rave enough only wish there were MORE episodes and weekly releases!!

so white and thin they live in their own world
listened to 9 episodes total. they clearly have very interesting ideas but their own biases mixed with an air of superiority can be really hurtful. in episode 7 they discuss a writer who is struggling with her body image issues. the hosts start criticizing the writer for her publicizing her issues. criticism is fair and any writer subjects themselves to that. the problem is what the hosts said. they say in passing something about β€œwhat must it be like to be truly ugly by society’s beauty standards” ignoring the fact that society’s beauty standards are based around white supremacy. our society’s beauty standards view people with wide noses, dark skin people, disabled people, and fat people as automatically extremely ugly. they also say at one point to stop wearing shapeless clothes β€œif you’re fat, then corset” and it gets passed off like a joke. like girl….

blatant bias and generalization of people
I lowkey love the topics they talk about but the blatant generalization of people in this show can scare me at some times. Especially in their recent, β€œRussian Bimbocore” episode (which I loved the topics by the way) but couldn’t ignore the fact that they generalized Russians. Though they brought up stereotypes about the Russian people that were seen as β€˜westerners warped perception of Russians’, they created their own. They called Russian food β€œweird foods that they eat” and even considered Russians, Asians????…..Though, 70% of the Russian population lives in Europe and is European. Okay then. They also push their agenda a little too much at times and I would hope that in the future they don’t limit their talkings to political culture.

there are sparks of brilliance here and there, but so much talking over each other makes them seem insecure and competitive, i like the topics but the narcissism is annoying/immature...

    meh
two main issues: -you people don’t ask real questions for some reason? you just are like, β€œI love….” and hope your guest will know that you’re actually trying to ask them a question. just ask the question. not asking it just comes off as like. whatever the passive-aggressive version of trying to be nice is? annoying. -too much self-mythologizing/stop talking to just fashion students. β€œi’m the only girl left in new york with long hair”. that piece of autobiographical information is pretty lame and uninteresting. your continued efforts to orient and distinguish yourself in the fashion world that appear in like weird flashes of narcissism don’t need to be disclosed. biz’s writing is good but not all those skills are transferrable to this medium. mostly, just get better at asking questions and trying to sound above stuff when you’re obviously like embroiled in it. but mostly the questions thing.

your radical and unapologetic takes on fashion and culture have totally expanded my mind and sparked sooo many deep convos with the besties. i especially loved the rookie ep for perfectly articulating how that era was so transformative yet embarrassing. however if i listen critically the blatant whiteness and straightness in your analyses is def a turnoff.....i respect yall for staying in ur lanes but i simply cannot get with the obsession with dirty feet, pervy male gaze photography, and skinny white girls. please talk more about lesbians! thank u <3
