ThenaGOObsessed! The content on this podcast is so good. Having just discovered this podcast a few months ago, I would binge-listen to the episodes and some of them I go back to to relisten. My favorites are the Zero Waste episode, and ones that speak to racial, environmental and social justices. Thankful to the Asian Sewist Collective for representing Asian voices and doing so in such a responsible and beautiful way. I learned so much about how to be a better sewist (and human!). Can’t wait to listen to all the new episodes this year!

nicuumuuWhy even bring the message upI just dipped my toes in and the first episode I listened to opens with a message they got that asks about pic from more dominant cultures using cultural pieces from less dominant cultures who are also poc. They immediately say “we want to keep it focused on white supremacy” and moved on fairly quickly. I kept listening because I was curious if it would come up again. They mentioned a couple instances where they themselves could have committed cultural appropriation but quickly justify it and then go back to talking about white supremacy. Why start an episode with a subject you aren’t going to talk about? If they didn’t wanted to disregard the question they should have just ignored it and read aloud questions that aligned with that they actually wanted to talk about. It would have been a less noticeable hole if they didn’t bring it up by reading the question that disregarded

Peachy's #1 fanWould recommendI like this podcast because it talks sewing of course. It also covers current social issues from a wide range of Asian perspectives. It’s a great way to learn other points of view and sewing at the same time.
