I am always inspired to do some self introspection after listening to My Unsung Hero. Being a somewhat timid person I tend to be afraid to extend myself to others, fearing that I would do or say something wrong. These stories remind me that extending love and caring to someone is never wrong. The stories help me break through my own self consciousness to make a connection with others who might need unsolicited comfort.

With so much bad news in the world, I just love this podcast. My favorite thing is to listen to a couple of these episodes before going to bed so I leave the day with a positive hopeful feeling. Thank you so much to Shankar for hosting it and to everyone who contributes to it. It is an inspiration.

This little podcast is huge! At a time when many of us feel helpless to touch the myriad of problems and division we are experiencing, a podcast comes along showing us that a simple kindness can save a life, change a life, remain with someone the rest of their life. These short stories, told by the person experiencing them, carry so much power because they give hope. I have noticed that real hero’s don’t feel they have don’t anything exceptional. These stories are about the nameless people who are unintentionally heroic. If I had to come up with a criticism, it’s only that the stories are so short, or that they don’t come every day.

A sweet, kind, wise, podcast – short, almost like a quick prayer/reminder – what a gift to the podcasting world!

When I first started listening to My Unsung Hero, I was so moved by the small gestures of kindness that so many people had encountered and they felt so much gratitude for them. It made me think back to the many times in my life that a stranger did something for me in a time of need and how that made feel. Thank you for providing a bright light in a world that can seem so dark these days!

This podcast offers a rich resource of hope for us all. Humanity may have a bad reputation but Unsung hero shows us over and over again the innate goodness in each person as well as our natural need for each other. It is both compassionate and uplifting in a very special way. I have recommended it to everyone. You should too!

It is so uplifting to hear these stories of people helping people, seemingly out of nowhere. What touches me is the absolute humbling gratitude heard in the recipients of these acts of kindness. The gratitude comes sincerely from their heart. This podcast gives us a chance to say thank you when the chance to do so in person is long gone. This is an important and beautiful podcast!

I love the concept of the podcast. I love the stories. I recognize that podcasts have to pay for themselves but for such a short show, the ads seem a bit much.

In this time of almost constant bad/disheartening/sad news on almost every front, this podcast without fail restores my faith in the goodness of people. The voices are varied and all carry this quality of quiet, gentle gratitude … gratitude that in most cases has been carried and felt for many years. I’m astonished at how, in such a short (6 minutes or less!) amount of time, I am so moved and uplifted by these stories. Thank you, thank you!
