Jacquie R. S.A way to think poeticallyIf you’ve ever thought or come to believe that poetry can sometimes feel like it hides behind a veil of symbols, abstractions, and vague hues, then this channel from the creative process is an excellent way to uncover the flow of poetic thought from the writers themselves. Highly recommend for both poets and non-poets alike!

VicenteAgustinQuinterosInsightful and motivationalHonestly, for my whole life, I’ve been trying to understand myself. I consider myself a creative person, but sometimes being in the wrong place can diminish who you are meant to be. After weeks of listening to the guests and their experiences, I’ve realized that there are people who use art not only to transform their own world but also to inspire and impact the lives of others. This podcast aims at it!

S.John 24So much creative and insightful thinkingI thoroughly enjoyed this podcast. Poets always seem to know the perfect way of expressing such complex issues, it’s nice to get to hear them elaborate on their thoughts in a longer form.

NatalieMcCarthyySo engaging and insightfulI love the way that this podcast approaches the world through a poetic lens, grounding everything in humanity. It covers such important topics and I think that the artistic foundations really helps me to connect with the subject matters.

S. ClassenReally enjoy listening to all the great poems and poets!I have always enjoyed the artistic format and structure of poetry that highlights interpersonal emotions, unique ideas and subliminal thoughts. On the surface level, many poems are just shadows of artistic compositions, however this show unpacks the hidden meanings and what the poets intended to convey. I not only appreciate the thought and stylistic expression within discussed poems but also how they can relate to oneself, the world, and the poet. I had a great time listening to poems by writers such as Neil Gaiman, Alice Fulton, Mia Funk and such. The occasional background music is a nice and soothing touch too!

dev.conLovelyPoetry is so important and complex! I love hearing Mia cover this form of art and poets have so much to say about the current state of our world and they say it beautifully in so few words
-

Amy X ChenJust poeticI think there is a way that poets talk that is so intriguing and genuine and special; maybe because they are so passionate and creative with words and rhythm that it reflects in their normal speech. I find these speakers just really lovely to listen to no matter what they say - of course their answers are always so profound and resonating
-
allegramwalkerLove for Poets! It’s nice to see so much love for poets and see a space where modern-day poetry is accessible. I especially am a fan of the interview with Sonnet L’Abbe—perhaps it’s because I love Shakespeare, but L’Abbe’s discussion with Mia on how to deconstruct and reconstruct words is incredible. Looking forward to more!

bboone.eliJericho Brown and Ada LimonThe Creative Process’s Poetry channel is an incredible crossroads of many others; exploring intersections of contemporaneous issues, the works of pioneering poets, and diverse materials from Jericho Brown’s recollection of his church’s lyricism and routine to Ada Limon’s interwoven dialogue between fauna and fertility. A joy to listen in to!

Zachlw721Diverse Perspectives, Creative MindsThe language of poetry speaks to the soul, and learning from poets deepens the potential for creative thought. At large, the Creative Process is unusual in its scope - interviews from a diverse set of the top creative minds in arts, technology, media, environmentalism, philosophy, and spirituality among other fields of interest. Yet, what the Creative Process does really well is tie together these creative minds within a global project to educate, inform and protect the world for future generations. The production quality and music create an immersive experience, with consistent output of episodes. Each episode has a HIGHLIGHTS mini-summary if you’re on a rush and just want to digest the main points. I highly recommend the Creative Process to anyone that wants to learn from some of the greatest minds in the world.

Donna__msBeautiful, thoughtful conversations!Poetry is an endless, ever-evolving genre that deserves to be better appreciated and critically studied. Thank you, Creative Process, for opening eyes and minds to this cathartic, profoundly personal art form that brings hearts and minds together. These conversations galvanize me to experiment artistically and educate myself in new styles, techniques, points of view…

sabhkus, alive, right here. feeling lucky. As a lover of poetry, I’ve listened to quite a few of these episodes, and what sticks out of me is the title of this review, which is a line from The Conditional by Ada Limón, who was a guest on one of my favorite episodes. I’m inspired, deeply, by the ability to continue on despite all of the difficulty in the world, and I am always fascinated by how this is communicated through words and writing. The Conditional showcases how over time, human beings continue in their resiliency. It is always refreshing to remember.

Henie ZhangRich and thought provokingI adored (dare I say, loved) the recent Love episode. And discovering a new or past interview with a poet I’ve read is always a delight!! The topics and questions in the interviews get to both the heart of the artist’s unique work/ writing philosophy (which are interesting to compare) and dive into what makes a Good Life for us as children/ parents/ planetary citizens, etc. The highlights are convenient and delicious nuggets of thought for when you’re busy. As a student, I’m also always excited to hear other students discuss their thoughts and research!

katcam:)Sonnet L’AbbéReally interested in this conversation of language as an inscripting force. The english language has so many opportunities to shape our perception—as poets how do we combat this? L’Abbé saying (in the Korean model) “the seeing is a relationship in between.” And Mia, “grammar can give us a long review of history.” The English language inseparable from colonial thinking—so where do we begin the process of separation? Ada Limón also speaks of the language of reciprocity, how do we let the world retain it’s difference—how to resist transcending the bird into immediate metaphor or symbol. We have no choice but to participate in language, but we can choose to build it out, begin a reshaping.

jskasjnsnajaja1233An Insider ViewI appreciate being able to listen to the perspectives of the many speakers featured, and saw how that influenced their creative approach. Broadcasting and publicizing insight from the writers themselves helps us as the audience understand the meaning behind their work, and The Creative Process does a wonderful job with this!

IndigoPMGreat cast of diverse artistsIf you want to hear from great names in art, writing, music, and more this podcast is for you. But there are tons of podcasts that interview the big shots. More exciting for me, were new names. I have found no better podcast for discovering new artists. My personal favorite episode, and a great place to start is Sonnet L’Abbé.

29clairetLove hearing poets read their work!Listening to poets’ stories is so lovely! I love that the podcast often includes readings, and it is very interesting to hear where different artists get their inspiration. Although I’m not very knowledgeable about poetry myself, I still think this podcast does well to show how it can be relevant and touch people in a special way that only art can. I loved the Jericho Brown and Ada Limon episodes!
-

Zara the unpredictableAmazing PodcastThis podcast really brings forth discussion opportunities for the arts. I am usually looking forward to seeing what guests they have next and basking in so much creativity. Highly recommended
-
Andrew blue manAn Appreciated NuanceThe podcast takes on both fresh and veteran interviews with thought provoking discussion. The podcast market is saturated with a over abundance of a similar “type” of interview or meaningless discussion. This is where The Creative Process distinguishes itself regarding arts, culture, the environment, politics, and science.
-
