I’m glad to have stumbled across this. These days it’s hard to find the time to read. I have a long work commute everyday so this is perfect.

Fifty years after first reading The Hobbit and The Lord of the Ring, on Wednesday November 6, I decided I again needed to escape to a place where, ultimately, good prevails. Fantasy I know but I can’t deal with reality right now. One thing I don’t like about this recording is the volume of the background orchestration which is so loud it’s difficult to hear the narration and dialogue.

Thanks for putting this up. However, the recording is full of sound effects that too frequently drown out the dialogue. If it weren’t Tolkien I would rate this recording with one star.

I’m a postman and I started a week ago for entertainment. All I can say is thank you for reading this aloud and giving my heart what it truly desired. I can’t barely even remember what happens on my route I was so into the books!

This has music, dynamic sound effects, and was a whole new way to experience the books. I followed along in the books and listened. Simply amazing! A must for any Tolkien fan!

This podcast is truly ‘my precious.’ From the great audio quality to the character voices and background music… I can’t tear myself away from it.

One does not simply rate this podcast anything lower than five stars. The narration, the different voices for each character, the background music, it’s all *chef’s kiss.* I see this as a recurring favorite in my future.

I’m under 15 and I’m perfectly fine with it

Please finish the book you’re missing about three hours of it, but other than that, you guys do amazing jobs reading these books.

I love listening to this! I especially like that it has the movie soundtrack in the background.

I read this it’s raining because of this podcast has a lot of death standing blind and this might scare little kids under the age of 15.

I just love this book and the audio! It does skip a few parts in the book, probably by accident, but is truly just fabulous. I love how it gets you on the edge of your seat if you haven’t seen the movies and don’t know what’s coming next. Great job guys!! 🤗

I’ve only listened to the Silmarillion so far bit unfortunately it is missing audio in a few places where there is a jump or skip, the audio just cuts to a different part of the book. Most notably at the end it gets completely cut off during the Fall of Numenor story. That being said, the reading is superb quality and I would love to listen to the end of the book! Please fix it!

This is hands down the best audiobook I've ever listened to. Just speaking purely about the production.

This podcast is a treasure for any Tolkien fan. The books aren’t just read unabridged, they are acted with background music. You shall not pass up this podcast.

It’s a good well done audiobook. The voice acting really helps you understand the gravity of the situations he’s reading

Wonderful audiobooks! The background music adds nice atmosphere without ever being too loud or distracting. I hope more of Tolkiens legendarium is added. Beren & Luthien, Children of Húrin, and Fall of Gondolin would be great in this series!

Excellently done audiobook

I loved it, but when I was trying to find what chapter I was on in the podcast I had to skip seconds I really wish it was in episodes. But overall it was a really good podcast.

This is very much appreciated. The book Tolkien penned are masterworks. He's the best author in history, in my humble opinion.

Though I have read these books myself many times, and they are utterly familiar to me, hearing them delivered as spoken words, and at that pace, is a very different and profound experience as the listener processes what is given far differently from what happens when devouring text in silent reading. The books are read beautifully and paced perfectly. This is a wonderful gift to lovers of these very great works. Thank you!

This is a wonderful production. I spent a weekend attempting to read Tolkiens works for the first time and was sucked in. However, i soon realized I would need to switch to an audio book format in order to get anything done! And I stumbled upon this production, complete with wonderful character voices and clear reading. I love the background sounds & music because they were already in my head before I started listening as I read! Thank you for producing this!

I’ve never read the silmilrian and I might not be able to read it for a while but still I can’t wait to finaly listen to the books for free!! I think it’s gonna be a great podcast episode and I ask to add/make adió books for all of Tolkien’s book (especially the children of hurin)

Thank you speaker for a great job on reading a book; i like how the speaker change his voice when speaking for different characters. Sound absolutely great as well, there’s zero of background noise and zero annoying sound effects, except nice music one minute in beginning and in the end. I enjoyed all of it it very much. Highly recommended

The reading is clear for me (with headphones) and the background sounds/music make it so much more interesting. The voice acting is very well done- it sounds just like the movies to me. Good job thank you for this I’m sure this took a while and lot of good effort to produce!

I love it! I have been looking for a audiobook on the lord of the rings. But the back ground noise is a bit too loud.
