    Fabulous!
I’ve been following Serena for some time now on Instagram and just recently found her podcast - she is so knowledgeable but also accessible, and there is truly something here for everybody. I have learned a ton and feel so much better equipped to properly fuel my body as I enter a new training cycle! Thank you Serena!

    Realistic advice
I really enjoy this podcast, it’s like talking with one of your best friends for advice. Really great information in a fun manner.

    Love this show
I just started running last year (at 36, with 2 young children), and became obsessed. I am so glad I found Serena early in my running journey because I’m able to build healthy eating and hydration habits from the get go. But the reason this is the *only* non-music content I can listen to DURING my runs is because it feels like I’m listening to a friend share what’s on her mind. She’s relatable, funny and not preachy… but I learn a lot. Big fan!

    Good for your GUT
Love this episode on gut health! Many great reminders, but also the suggestion to slow down and take a few deep breaths before a meal. I often struggle with bloating and am constantly eating on the run. Even while I listened to this episode, I was eating a wonderfully nutritious bowl of oatmeal with all the seeds, but I was taking bites in between washing dishes and listening to the podcast. Not very present with my food. I’m going to try to incorporate the box breathing technique before eating and really prioritize slowing down when having my meal. Thank you, Serena for sharing your knowledge and tips in such a well-rounded way. I gain helpful nuggets from every single episode I listen to! Thank you for all you do to inform and empower us female athletes!

"If I stop dieting, I'll overeat"
I've listened to a few of these podcasts and something that was shared in the episode listed above really resonated with me. Serena brought up that when you learn to eat and accept your body's desired set point, it may be a higher weight than in your past. And that's OK. It wouldn't be uncommon as a runner, if that previous "lower weight" resulted from under fueling and therefore weight loss. In my own running journey, for years I was unintentionally under fueled or would ran fasted. It did in fact result in a lower body weight, but it didn't help my performance or recovery. I thought it was normal to feel wrecked for the day after a long run. Fast forward to now, I always eat before runs, use intrarun fuel during long runs and I feel absolutely fine on my weekends post long run. Is the scale higher? Yes. But are my other gains more important? Yes.

Fat Adapted Community…. You can forget this
I learned a lot of good stuff in this episode…things like I need to fuel a bit before my run even in am…. Also to sleep and take rest days…. Something else… sugar alcohols bring on GI issues! Thank you again Serena Marie for informing us all

    Expert or friend?
Oh my gosh, if you are a female runner and you haven’t listened to this podcast, you have to give it a go. Serena is so knowledgeable about fueling and hydration for runners and presents the information in a way that feels like it’s coming from a friend- straightforward and honest. As someone who has struggled with fueling herself, she is the perfect listen for those who want to improve their fueling strategy and CRUSH their workouts. This is a binge-worthy, easy listen with plenty of fun vent sessions and relatable new mom moments. Highly recommend this one!

    Keeping it real
I listen to Dear Runner Bod each week because I love how Serena not only is informative on her topics but also keeps it real-I know some people may be put off by that but I appreciate it. She also cares about her listeners.I recently reached out to her on Instagram to get some more information on her Eat like and Athlete boot camp, not only did she send me the link she sent me a few voice text checking in to make sure that I got it and to see if I had anymore questions. Keep up the great work!!

Healing your relationship with running & your body
Some people listen to music on their runs, I listen to this podcast. As a 30-something woman diagnosed with celiac disease a few years ago, it has been incredibly difficult to have a healthy relationship with food, because my disease requires me to strictly exclude gluten completely from my diet. Talk about struggling with a restrictive diet mindset, am I right? I’m also dealing with chronic pain from endometriosis & have been off of running for 5+ years due to all these health things happening (I’m a prior track, cross country & half marathon runner). I was being sooo hard on myself, because of how my body looks & how much slower I am now compared to my “healthy” 20-something year old self. I’m not saying I’m cured of my negative thoughts, but I am so thankful for this podcast. I have found gluten-free pop tarts to fuel my runs & I have a 15K race coming up on the calendar that I’m going to run-walk… & that’s okay! My only goal is to finish it. Thank you Serena ❤️

    Just what I needed!
I have had the pleasure of working with Serena before! She is a treasure of knowledge and insight! I was listening to her podcast on intra run fueling and it was exactly what I needed to hear! I was having invasive thoughts about myself as I was hiking on my treadmill and she reminded me the importance of fueling and loving your body. She teaches you that your body is so amazing and powerful. If you are needing guidance on fueling properly and becoming the best athlete you can be you’re in the right place!!

    Empowering Podcast
Loving this podcast! Recently purchased Serena’s “Eat Like an Athlete” masterclass and joined her “Eat Like an Athlete”. As a long distance runner with GI issues and recovering from SIBO, cannot thank Serena for all her wisdom, guidance and support! Feels like kismet, finally found a knowledgeable and kind dietitian to help me reach my athletic goals. Her latest podcast felt like it was made for me. Enjoying the other episodes too. I highly recommend it!!!

    I’m not alone!! PostPartum runner
I just listened to “Bingeing While Post-Partum” and I loved it so much. I was super active before (and to an extent during) pregnancy but have always struggled with food. The combination of breastfeeding hunger and decreased activity since my baby arrived has really made me go back to disordered eating thoughts. This episode was so great to see I’m not alone and giving advice for how to overcome it. Thank you! I can’t wait to listen to more ❤️

    Great episode about fasted running
As always loved listening to Serena bringing us down to earth and away from diet culture. Very grateful for women like her that keep educating us to become stronger athletes.

    Must listen!
As a runner, a mom of 2 & currently pregnant with #3, & a woman who struggled with orthorexia & BED, I couldn’t be more thankful for Serena. She brings common sense tactics & easy to understand education to a world full of pressure & misinformation around food, pregnancy & how to fuel our bodies as athletes. Love this podcast & recommending to all my friends/family!

No topic is off limits- fun and informative!
Serena is relatable, sassy, vulnerable and educated! She talks about all the things related to body image and running that we all secretly ask ourselves but never really talk about. I started training for a marathon recently and found her podcast to be a game changer in terms of how I thought about and fueled my body to perform. My old ways of thinking have slowly changed for the better because of how Serena enables me to believe the truth about health and my own body- despite what society says. Her approach is one that leaves me feeling confident that I can take the next step in health and running for me in my season! Thanks!!

    Such a great podcast!!
I found this podcast after looking for running accounts on Instagram as I came back to running after dealing with grief. Serena Marie RD has so much knowledge and positive energy that makes me keep coming back. She is so knowledgeable about nutrition and mindset. It isn’t just about running. It is about how to eat well and how to help your brain think positively about your body. It is great to hear someone be real and honest.

    My new fave podcast!!
I’m new to this podcast but since I discovered it just 2 ish weeks ago it has become my go to and I am catching up on all the episodes! Very informational as I am currently training for my first marathon. Such a good listen and great host!

    Binge worthy podcast
I just discovered this podcast, and I have been binge listening almost every day. I love Serena’s no nonsense approach to fueling your body and not falling into diet culture. As a fellow RD, I am soaking in her knowledge for both myself and my clients. Thank you for such a great podcast!

    Recommend to a Friend!
I’ve told at least a half dozen people about your show. It’s really helping me in ED recovery to remember I care so much more about feeling fast and free than I do about appearance. When I hear others talking about running for weight loss, I frequently reference you as a source of info on why the fastest runs come from fueling - and that some runners even gain as they train properly.
  • AmyB2334
    Highly Recommend!!
I love this podcast! Each episode feels like a conversation with a friend who truly understand the challenges and joys of running. I’m a mom of four, therapist, and marathon runner and find the info in this podcast very helpful & relatable. This podcast is a must-listen for any runner looking for practical advice and inspiration. ♥️

    Great podcast!
I’ve only listened to a few episodes so far but I’m hooked! Serena was on another podcast I listen to and I loved hearing her perspective so I popped over to her podcast and listened to 3 episodes so far! Everybody who runs has a runners body! Love that. I came to running in my late 20s and am definitely a fast runner but I love running and love hearing more about how to keep my body safe while doing it. Also enjoy hearing her pregnancy running experience.

    Not just good...real and honest
I love this show because it isn't just full of great information for runners...it's real and honest too. The "body shaming" episode did it for me. Having dealt with this a lot, it was great to hear someone speak so openly about it.

Women are athletes and it’s awesome
I think what’s amazing about Serena is that she really cares about getting her message out to women that it’s not only great but *important* to feul the athlete you are! She is so open and responsive that you that it makes it so easy to interact with and learn from her. Her honesty and vulnerability make it so easy to take her advice and ideas to heart. She helped me move from an underfeuled - and injured - runner to one who is fed and injury free. I can’t recommend Serena more and this podcast is like free liquid running gold! 🏃🏻‍♀️💜

    Knowledgable and Compassionate
Serena is a wealth of knowledge for (especially) female runners. She is compassionate about all running levels and body types and truly wants us to just be properly nourished and hydrated. I find her podcast episodes to be approachable and unpretentious.

    Like listening to a friend
You have to listen! This podcast is amazing. Listening to Serena talk is like having girl time with your girlfriends. She doesn’t hold back and tells it as it is. While listening to her chat, she feeds you with all the information you didn’t know you needed to know. Thank you for keeping it real and rooting for women in all things they choose to do!!

    Listen, You’ll Like It
Serena shares her vast knowledge as an athlete, coach and registered dietitian in each episode. She encourages listeners to embrace a healthy lifestyle (not strive for perfection) and even more importantly a healthy mindset which is backed with her experiences and education. Serena has real talk about what us especially as females are faced with in society. I’ve have periods of not running and still found the podcast informative and relevant. I recommend giving the podcast a listen.

    Weekly BFF date 💕
I have been a long time instagram follower of Serena, but somehow just recently stumbled upon her podcast!! After totally binging all the previous episodes, I now not-so-patiently await each new episode. As an avid runner with a personal history of struggles with eating disorders and exercise addiction, I truly feel like Serena understands me in a way most others don’t. I truly feel like each episode is a personal chat with a best friend who cares for my well being - she just speaks to my soul! Serena - thank you for sharing such important and applicable health/nutrition knowledge with your listeners and followers. Thank you for giving me the courage to not only train like an athlete, but to fuel like a freaking athlete too. You are a real inspiration.

    Awesome and useful podcast!
I recently discovered this podcast and so glad I did! The information is relevant to issues everyday runners may experience and practical tips and advice are given that can be applied no matter where you are at in your running journey. I recently listened to the ideal race day weight, and wow, I wish I would’ve heard this info a couple years ago. May have saved me some mental (and physical) agony. Alot of aha moments in that one! I’ve also been enlightened about how ridiculous BMI is. Baffles my mind it’s still accepted in the medical community. I look forward to listening to more podcasts!

Serena will tell you the truth!
I love Serena’s passion for arming female athletes with tools and knowledge about fueling their bodies and living their best lives, all based on science. Her kindness and empathy easily shine through in every episode. And she’s real, never hesitating to share her flaws, setbacks or mistakes. Five stars!

    Great podcast!!!
I loved the body neutral personal trainer episode! It gave me the confidence to ‘step into my power’, and I asked not to be weighed at my doctor appointment this week!

The friend you need in your corner!
Serena’s message and anti-diet voice changed everything for me as an adventure athlete who spent way too long trying to become the smallest version of myself. Changing the way we think about food and unraveling the toxic messages we’ve believed for our whole lives doesn’t happen overnight, but every time I listen to this podcast I am reminded why I’m putting in the work to become the most fulfilled version of myself. If you need encouragement to step into the best version of yourself, Serena is the gal you need in your corner! ❤️

    Positive, fun, and helpful
I found Serena's podcast from a list of recommended podcasts for runners, and now it's one of my favorite things to listen to while I run! The tone is so cheerful and encouraging, it really helps me keep going and always lightens my mood. I also appreciate all the practical information about fueling. I'm actually a dietitian myself but haven't specialized in sports nutrition, and I enjoy learning from Serena's expertise. She presents things in a very accessible, relatable way. It's almost like I'm out running with a friend (who happens to know a lot about nutrition)!

    Fun and uplifting
This podcast is a breath of fresh air among many self help podcasts. Serena is an educated RD but makes her content simple, relatable and easy to digest. It is uplifting and a fun listen on mondays to start the week but not too long to be overwhelming

    Body positivity
I found Serena on instagram (where she provides lots of great content related to nutrition and running!) and recently started listening to her podcast. She shares a ton of great *healthy* content and promotes taking care of and appreciating your body. Great short listen for your runs or drives. Thank you!

    My favorite running podcast !
I listen to several running themed podcasts and “Dear runner bod,” is by far my favorite. This may be a niche podcast, but Serena’s personal anecdotes and emotional support combined with the evidence-based education on all things running / runner’s nutrition really work together to elevate this podcast above others in the genre. I can relate so much Serena’s journey in healing her relationship with food/exercise, and each episode feels like hanging out with a close friend. I look forward to hearing her authenticity and never-ending encouragement each week, which help to empower me to be embrace my runner body. <3

Honesty, Grace and Learning All in One
Serena has the amazing ability to balance information and knowledge with empathy and grace. Her show has taught me so much for training nutrition and mindset, and her personal stories play over in my head when I don’t have a good run or race day. I ran a half marathon recently where I didn’t feel great about my performance but loved the race and appreciated the course’s beauty; hearing Serena share a similar experience with her Marine Corps marathon made me feel less alone in that lesser talked about experience!
  • becca_runs_a_marathon
    Serena’s content is so helpful!!!
I follow Serena on Instagram and have been following along on the pod as well. All of her content is extremely helpful for runners looking to learn more about fueling properly. The way it is presented is also extremely digestible (no pun intended!) and reduces overwhelm when there is so much information out there. Listening to this pod has helped me to challenge my internalized view of my body and good in a positive way. Thank you Serena for all you put out there.

    Permission to speak
I’ve been following this fantastic RD for years. She was a guest on a podcast when I was knee deep in over exercise and other ED issues and I love how she is straight forward and also compassionate in what she shared with is about our bodies, running and our relationship with food. I feel like she is speaking to me personally while also speaking to all of us. Maybe my voice is also with hearing.

Always what I need to hear!
This week I was starting out my 12 mile run feeling defeated and unconfident. I decided to turn on this podcast while running and it completely changed my whole attitude and mindset. Serena shared so many valuable lessons and relatable insecurities. I started out my run that day feeling like I was not an athlete and not good enough. After listening to Serena, my confidence came back and I was so proud of myself when I finished that run. Thank you so much Serena! I’m always looking forward to each new episode.

    Serena Explains It All!!!
I am grateful to have discovered this running podcast! As a newer runner, I was making all the common under fueling mistakes that were preventing me from reaching new goals. Serena offers savvy, sustainable, and evidence-based advice that applies to so many people — not just female runners. I feel so seen hearing Serena’s story + tips 💕Highly recommend this podcast to any runner, athlete, or active person.

    Great Info
I’ve been running for a few years but just now starting to learn the nutrition piece of it. This podcast is a great resource. Also who doesn’t love a podcast that tells you it’s ok to eat Pop Tarts!!

    Great podcast for runners!
I’m so glad I found Serena’s podcast! She is so full of information, and I learn something every episode. I really appreciate how she is so genuine and vulnerable in sharing her current and past struggles with eating, fueling, and just running in general and how she is/did overcome these struggles. I think every runner will be able to relate! But what I love most is how she is helping me to love and celebrate my “runner bod” one episode at a time.
