edean211Loving her words of wisdom!Wow I am so happy I stumbled on this podcast. Nedra was a guest on Chelsea handlers podcast and I just loved hearing the way she spoke about real issues so I searched and found this. I am working through all the episodes and man I feel like it’s free therapy! She knows her stuff and is so good at having hard conversations and making them approachable and clear. Thank you for making this I hope it continues!! Love you Nedra!!!

sahashraShe has so much wisdom in messiness of relationshipsThanks Nedra you are gifted when it comes to relationships

J'adore them!If you want to learn about boundaries, start hereShe is my favorite thought leader in the arena of boundaries. She is clear, measured wise, and has a very engaging voice. Her advice is actionable, clear, accessible, and based in empathy and kindness. Highly recommend her books as well. Do yourself a favor and learn from her! 10/10

tsethiStraight talk with loveNedra has a gift of breaking down her advice into not only a way to practically move forward in a relationship but so you can reclaim your power and worth at the same time. Gems in every episode!

Nicole_RaiLove the show but…I’d love to know what time the episodes are released. Every morning I prep my morning podcast list and every Thursday I look forward to hearing this one but I never know what time the episodes are released. I’m checking several times a day to see if it’s available, it would be less friction if we knew what time the episodes will show up. Also the random break around the holidays was shocking….typically every podcast let’s you know when they are taking a break, this one just vanished for weeks. I thought the show was done…not the best communication for loyal listeners. So while I love the show, there are some things that need improvement. And someone else posted that there are lots of ads for a short podcast, I agree.
-
burtney3So many ads!The number of ads for such a relatively short podcast seems a little extreme.

celticscountryValidatingThe host informs, validates and offers opportunity for theory to practice. I always hear something I need to when I listen!

Jadeb1973Learning opportunitiesNo one in my life taught me how important it was to be yourself! Being honest with others was okay! Everyone who is in my life or was at the time told me “well she’s your mom.” Or “they’re family”. I always felt that that still was not enough! But everyone made me second guess my decision making. Not nedra. You’ve taught me so much and that it’s important to set boundaries! Thank you for that! Truly.

ArtfullyHSet Boundaries, Find PeaceI’m in my seventh decade. I did not grow up learning boundaries. Something i struggled with. I listened to your book over two days. I have such an understanding and gleamed so much. Thank you for that. My work is not done. Your book is my next purchase, yours and Black Liturgies. And then, I am going to work on me.

Gigi 1231AmazingI love this podcast because it offers different situations. She has a soothing voice and is empathetic in her responses to each situation. It is the only podcast I listen to on a weekly basis. All the advice she gives is relatable and helpful.
-
ZigzagPath🙃No need to a DRAMATIC reading of the question. Doesn’t work. Either have Nedra read it or have people submit voicemails. That way we can hear the actual person.
-
SeeohhGreat podcast butI really love Nedra, her books gave helped me immensely and I typically love this podcast but this weeks episode I couldn’t get past the over dramatic voice actor. It made the episode feel really unrealistic and was painful to listen to. I kept questioning if I was listening to the right podcast lol
-
missgeegee2020put people in appropriate placesthis week sounds like an actress is speaking. it’s pretty cheesy and cringe worthy. It doesn’t seem authentic at all. Please dont continue this format. I can’t empathize with this situation at all because it feels so disingenuous

CM (Camera Man)Podcast is AWESOME! Narration is over the top!I absolutely love your podcast and books. You are GIFTED in what you do and you have helped me immensely with all of your content. I have to say that the podcast on August 10, 2023 is so hard for me to get through. I don’t know if this is the caller’s actual voice note or if it was a narration, but it was overly dramatic. I felt like I was listening to a true crime podcast. It was just way too much. I still haven’t finished this one because I keep having to take a break from the drama of it all. Please consider a less dramatic narration so as not to unnecessarily distract from the content.
-
KEH82What is with the dramatic reading on the most recent episode?I love Nedra and I enjoy the show a lot, but this week they had an actor read the question in the most dramatic way possible. It‘s painful to listen to. I really really hope this isn’t a permanent change.

Katie08420Good but could be betterWonderful books! Her podcast is informative and insightful however the multiple ad breaks really take away from the listener experience and breaks contemplation on the episode’s topic. Nearly a third of each episode is advertising. Would be better if the ads were before or after the episode, not during.
-
Summer 1717Love Nedra love the content, could be improvedNedra is incredible and I will listen to the podcast anyways because it is helpful…however the ads are so obnoxious (shout-y) and the voice actors for the folks writing in are over-acting to the point of distraction…I don’t think it’s supposed to be a comedy, but the voice actors can sound so dramatic it makes me laugh. With curated ads (to fit the mood) and thoughtful acting, this show would be 100%! Thank you, Nedra!!

ReadPlsTYSMGreat extension of Nedra if you follow her elsewhereLove Nedra’s insights, I follow her on instagram, Threads, Substack, and have her first book. I do wish the discussions in this podcast was in a live interactive format but I understand if responding to voice messages is more efficient for production. One minor comment: I couldn’t tell if the voice on episode 15 was the actual listener or an overly theatrical voice actress reading a script. She took away from the authenticity of the conversation and didn’t match the vibe of the show.
-
Tina's Couture, LLCLove the show but too many commercialsI love the show and the insight coming from Nedra. She is really helping the listener work through issues and helping them set boundaries. My only complaint is iHeart Radio has too many commercials and it’s breaking up the flow of the show. Maybe have commercials at the beginning and the end but interrupting the show is quite unpleasant and annoying.
-
ARoseBrownHow to leave a voice note?I’ve really enjoyed listening to the episodes so far. I was wondering if anyone might explain how we can be a caller or leave a voice note. I’ve searched around the site and can’t quite figure it out.

plezcA GemI initially followed her on Instagram and frequently share her posts on my story. She is a natural healer and extremely competent in her field of study. The podcast is timely and address various topics that are relevant to any group of people. I was stoked when I learned of her own podcast on ShrinkChicks! Keep up the healing work!

Dr SingletonGreat podcastHer book’s are awesome and the podcast is also.

GoJazzyWill make your life betterNedra Tawwab is the therapist’s therapist. There’s only a handful of episodes now but at least two of the questioners are therapists themselves. She is so highly skilled at this work and truly gifted in bringing specific language and clarity to the challenges of being in complex relationships. I come away from this podcast feeling validated and understood and also with clearly actionable tools to improve how I’m processing things. Her work (books, Instagram account and podcast) has improved the quality of my thinking in a way that has directly improved my quality of life. The two books are the most impactful self-help books I have read in a decade. If you’re a fan of Dear Therapists or Esther Peter, you will love Nedra Tawwab. Thank you for all you do, Nedra. Keep the episodes coming!

Lisa18965Great podcastI was excited to hear that Nedra was starting a podcast. I have been following Nedra on Instagram for about 2 years and read her book, “Set Boundaries, Find Peace.” I am amazed at how much content she provides on Instagram in addition to her books. The podcast is a great format with a good length about 25 minutes. This is perfect for driving around town and commuting. She answers a question submitted by a listener. She always provides a great perspective, and I thoroughly enjoy listening to her.
-
JustCantKeepListeningamazing podcast, truly unsettling adsI always get a lot from nedra’s portion of the podcast, and find the messaging. incredibly helpful. however, the jarring ads every sixty seconds are filled with loud music, shouting men, and just about every overstimulating ad you can imagine. I wish the ads were more thoughtfully curated and volume controlled, because they bring me out of the peaceful space and are more distracting than anything. it makes me not want to listen to a full episode, because five minutes in, there have been two noisy chaotic ad breaks.
-
jilliclemmonsThis is soul foodI was so excited for this podcast bc this author has helped me tremendously. The podcast is amazing and helps me put things in an empowered perspective.

TheOGJackieNedra is like manna from heavenI’m in the middle of Nedra’s book - Drama Free - A Guide to Managing Unhealthy Family Relationships and I’m doing a chapter every few days. I need a few days to process the sentences that are written that make sense out of dysfunction for me. I feel like this Podcast is a supplement to the book in so many ways. Unhealthy habits are incredibly hard to UN-LEARN and the more I can listen and read about identifying the triggers BEFORE the outcome occurs, the more in control I am feeling. Thank you, Nedra, for your bravery and commitment to sharing your gifts and your knowledge. I am different because of them.

KlkeeganBetter microphone is neededWith iPods on full volume I still can’t hear her voice. I have no problem hearing the voice of any other podcasters. I can hear all the commercials on this podcast, the only voice I can’t hear is the host. You need to get the volume up there vocally with a better mic or something please, this is ridiculous. All this podcast can be for me right now is a frustrating disappointment.
