Nate1026pLittle Bits of FascinationCurrently catching up around Week 37 and I have to say I’ve been really enjoying this. I’m fairly steeped in Tolkien lore yet there have constantly been episodes on bits I was either unfamiliar with or completely unaware of. For example, the tale of Aldarion and Erendis comes up in the vaguest hints throughout other writing but here in this podcast, the full story is told. Lot of fun to listen to!

Space ManateeFor the Love of All that is Good—Less Ads PleaseI really like Alan’s content—he is interesting, funny, and makes me love Tolkien more. But my goodness, there are way too many ads in this podcast. Sometimes up to half of each episode is ads. And it’s not like they are good or relevant ads either. If they were products or brands that Alan picked and curated, I wouldn’t have as much of a problem with them, but they are so obnoxious and have absolutely nothing to do with the content of the podcast. I honestly haven’t listened to this podcast for weeks now because the thought of slogging through all the ads, or even having to repeatedly skip them, turns me off listening to it

Laurel-GraceBite-sized fun facts perfect for daily listeningAbsolutely love the TTT! It’s a perfect complement to the PPP, with the same incredible readings and information, but in smaller pieces, making it good to listen to during shorter intervals. Best daily dose of Tolkien-related fun facts I could wish for!

Shadwell von BernsteinFor the love of God please stop rolling every R. It’s pretentiousValardrd. Noldordrd. Feanordrdr. It is so distracting. I love the prancing pony but I can’t pay attention with every bloody r rolled in the readings.

Cthulu’s SongGreat!Insightful, entertaining, and well produced. Short snippets to bridge the week between the Prancing Pony Podcast. If you love the work of Tolkien this is for you. !

Gaal DornickTerrific!Today’s Tolkien Times ‘tis terrific! Truly!

BreadButta91My daily dose of TolkienI love these daily shorts on all things Tolkien. It’s a really great idea and fills a void that many content creators overlook. A mix of lore and actual Tolkien background is a fresh perspective. Many look to only the lore and do not pay enough attention to the man behind the myth. Bravo Alan!

AllacinDaily Meaty Morsels of Tolkien’s Best! 📚🥩I’ve been a devoted follower of the Prancing Pony Podcast (PPP) from the beginning so I can tell you that Today’s Tolkien Times (TTT) is the best of the best! Listen to the PPP on a long drive or wherever else you have time to think, but be nourished daily by the TTT with bite-sized nuggets that will illumine your mind with things worth thinking about and brighten your day!

hoper333Excellent execution of a short-form podcast!Alan does a great job being concise and on-topic in the TTT! The episodes are enjoyable, though I find the daily schedule to be a little overwhelming. It’s hard to keep up! However, that’s mostly due to personal preference. My only critique is the number of ads. There’s sometimes as much digital ad content as there is podcast content due to the short length of the episodes!

LeiaUndomielPerfect Daily Dose of Tolkien!Today’s Tolkien Times is the perfect little daily dose of Tolkien. From topics stemming directly from the legendarium to discussion about Tolkien’s life and everything in between, it’s a great way to have a daily reminder of why we are a part of the amazing Tolkien Community. And I love that TTT is appropriate for anyone interested in Tolkien, regardless of past experience with the works or amount of knowledge. It’s for everyone! I can’t wait to keep listening.

b.l.h.h2Love Daily Dose of TolkienI was fortunate enough to find The Prancing Pony podcast earlier this year so I have been very excited to listen to Alan’s new venture. These bite-sized daily bits of Tolkien has been a great addition to my day. Looking forward to joining in on this new adventure!

Darkside CowboyLove the daily dose! It’s like eating a Hershey kiss everyday instead of the whole chocolate bar, still delicious!

Man of CambridgeshireOutstanding daily dose of TolkienAt less than 10 minutes, each episode focuses tightly on one specific aspect of Tolkien’s sub-creation, philology, or biography. It is a fantastic way to start any day… and it helps me start mine feeling good about the world (just as Tolkien’s stories do). Alan Sisto has grown over the years from eager novice to a voice of authority in the fandom, able of stand shoulder to shoulder with the professional scholars. He really shines in this short-form podcast (also available on YouTube). This is a “must subscribe” for any Tolkien fan.

ScreamingeckoIt's Time for more TolkienAs a fan and patron of The Prancing Pony Podcast, I looked forward to experiencing Alan's new venture. The first few episodes haven't disappointed. He's contrived concise deep dives that's are both fun and fascinating. The 3 T's are like a free P5. Brilliant! I highly recommend Today's Tolkien Times to anyone interested in J.R.R. Tolkien and his legacy.

DMaeBinkleyOff to a great start! The teaser trailer was great at setting up my anticipation. The first episode was delivered well and question was answered directly with good reference points. I am looking forward to a bit of Tolkien delivered to me daily.

MRPLBNA Daily Dose of TolkienTasty tidbits of Tolkien goodness, offered to you six days a week by the Man of the West himself, Alan Sisto. Sundays, of course, are the dates for the award-winning Prancing Pony Podcast, but for the rest of the week, Alan is offering a daily tapas plate, mixing in a variety of types of information: answering listener letters, more information about Tolkien the person, word-nerdery, etc., all with his usual flare and extensive knowledge. If you haven’t ever listened to the PPP, here’s a good place to get a taste of what it’s all about. If you already enjoy the PPP, then why not take this chance to hear a little bit more every day?
-
mathom2Great content!Alan does a wonderful job of presenting great Tolkien content. His readings are excellent, and he does the research to answer questions well and fully.
-
dsf2Tolkien info in bite-size bursts! This is the perfect addition to the Tolkien podcast world. Everyone has a couple minutes in their busy days to take a quick listen. Bite-size pieces of Tolkien information on a daily basis.
-
KimRN30More Tolkien! This is a different format to intake more knowledge about the man behind Middle-earth. Alan uses him seemingly endless knowledge to answer questions and share obscure information. You can listen here or watch the videos on YouTube!

MusicBaristaBite-sized brillianceI’ve just listened to the inaugural episode of Today’s Tolkien Times and I can’t wait for more! Alan does a great job of creating interesting, engaging content in all of his podcasts; he is incredibly well-informed on the subject matter, brings in a wide range of resources and guest opinions, and does all of this with humor, making the podcasts equally interesting and accessible to both brand-new and experienced Tolkien fans. I’m really looking forward to these daily Tolkien tidbits!
