I just listened to five hours of this show and feel like I am five years smarter. The analysis is sharp, nuanced, well researched, and imminently relevant.

I love this podcast so much - it’s everything I desire in other podcasts that I like that are usually missing “something”. This one has everything - academic basis for arguments, humor, wide range of topics, and amazing guests. I love feeling like I’m in class with the coolest professors. You guys have the best quips and really make me smile, laugh out loud, and feel curious about academic theory again. Thank you!!!

I’m new to your show and find it very informative and interesting. The only critique I have is when Moira giggles / laughs. It is disturbing and perhaps a little unprofessional. It seems that women commentators do this more frequently than men maybe it is only me that this bothers but it won’t prevent me from listening to you all. Perhaps your being aware of this tendency will help you with your growth and development as an excellent political commentator. Love u guys.

This show has gotten me through the confusion and frustration following the 2024 election. It has helped make sense of the cultural divide of the US while also giving me the confidence I needed after the election to go out and be myself in the face of so much hate. I hope we get to learn from our two lovely podcast hosts for many more years (and election cycles) to come!

Love this pod! But as someone with only 1 and a half degrees, it's extremely academic at times. I appreciate the episodes where the hosts make sure to explain the hardest concepts and name drops.

There are a few podcasts I disagree with that I listen to almost every week… it can be very calming to tune out and do dishes while listening to corny millennials and it’s thought provoking because I start forming arguments against them… it’s like doing puzzles to keep your mind active and prevent dementia. Moira needs to stop saying “candidly” omg lol. I’m a gen z free thinker and sometimes conservative they could never understand….

This show is an in depth exploration of the philosophy underpinning attitudes to gender and sex on the modern American right. Some episodes are focused on influences, like Nietzsche, while others are focused on manifestations of the right’s philosophy, like the Olympic Games gender panic. The hosts are clearly well read on everything they discuss and are also delightful and funny. Always excited to see a new episode pop up in my feed.

Very smart hosts who break down complex ideas and events without being condescending or overly simplistic. I recommend listening in order to the back catalogue. On first listen I jumped around, and it is much more enjoyable if you see it as a progressive talk. Thank you to the host!

I came “you’re wrong about”’s episode on the Jane Collective and I stayed for the Wagner deep dive!! The hosts have great rapport and bring a lot of context to their discussions. They address topics from an intellectual angle but always come back to the practical and emotional. Adding this to be rotation!

I’ve always found it difficult (impossible) to find a show with an insightful view of contemporary political discourse via poly-feminist lenses. Thank you for this elevated discussion. I also enjoy the appropriately placed curse words. Ultimately, patriarchal discussions that seek to further govern women’s bodies are akin to enslavement. Keep up the good discussion and the recommendations for reading and further learning.

I love this podcast! I've found myself sharing lots of episodes with friends. Moira and Adrian are so articulate and great thinkers. I have to admit I do not have a background in philosophy, gender studies, or even literature but their ideas are so relevant and timely.

I would happily listen to Moira and Adrian talk forever. I love that this show is not a 101 approach but more of an upper-level class for those of us who want a deeper dive into the ideas and figures who have shaped our world. Lots of interesting and insightful guests, and the hosts are just my kind of delightful. I found the show and listened to the entire back catalogue and am now sad I have to wait between episodes.

I feel like I’m back in my favorite women’s & gender studies classes with two amazing professors and thinkers who help me figure out my own orientation to the world, my “womanhood”, queerness, and politics.

I love this podcast. They are both so smart, articulated and just incredible people and feel so grateful to have their perspectives.

Moira and Adrian are wonderful educators. they move slowly and clearly through the material they cover on the podcast without dumbing things down so you can follow along and learn. Moira is an incredible storyteller, and they’re both funny. also it’s fun to watch(hear?) them get better at podcasting!

I’m loving this podcast. The episodes are fascinating; Moira, Adrian, and guests have really interesting things to say, but they make it accessible, so it’s easy to follow even if you don’t have, say, a degree in gender studies. They’re funny, too! So it manages to be enlightening and entertaining at the same time.

I cannot stop talking about this podcast. Every episode had me both laughing and gasping at a new, wild fact. I’m excited to read the sources, and thrilled by the way Moira, Adrian, and their guests provide analysis of incredibly urgent questions re: society and gender. I will be trying to make the marriage and masculinity episodes required reading for the guests of my big gay wedding this summer. Thank you for making this! Excited to hear more.

Superficial and snarky, this is not the kind of podcast you’d expect from a respected Stanford think tank. It’s not a serious or nuanced look at the politics of gender but a self-congratulatory echo chamber. The hosts come off like they skimmed the assigned reading and are content to drop F-bombs and nod along with each other for having the “right” takes. Rather than digging into conservative views of gender roles, they are dismissive and snide. They don’t need to subscribe to the beliefs they are covering, but as representatives of an academic endeavor, don’t they owe it to listeners to be more intellectually curious and not presume that everone shares their views?

As a white cis-het male this podcast is a thoughtful and insightful entrance into perspectives that are not necessarily present in my everyday experience. Can’t wait for the episode that inverts the F**-hag perspective and examines why straight males and lesbians don’t have a similar relationship (even though I know it’s because straight male entitlement poisons everything). Can’t wait for new episodes, thank you! Update - ‘he’s a howling vulgarity; like if Boston was a person’. I am in awe
