kikatins185One of my favorite podcasts!I have been following Lucie since her R29 days, and I love this new phase of her content. The podcast is interesting, insightful, and opens up my mind to a variety of topics and ideas. Lucie is a fantastic host and interviewer, I highly recommend giving this show a listen!

sahar 1990A listener from Saudi Arabia 💁🏻♀️I love this show! I listened to every single episode on my way to work. I enjoyed both the solo episodes and the ones with guests. Can't wait for season 2 😍

amydaniels17SO goodI am a huge fan of this podcast!! I literally never miss an episode. I’ve loved Lucie’s content for over 10 years now (from college admissions vlogs to family of 4!) and this podcast showcases her talent for connection so perfectly. Her natural talent and experience is obvious; some of the most engaging/earnest/touching interviews I’ve ever seen. Highly recommend to anyone :)

*Miss Lee*WowI have listened to this podcast since the beginning, and have also watched Lucie’s videos since her refinery29 days. She has remained incredibly authentic, and I love the honesty and curiosity that she has. She single-handedly made me look at things differently or be open to trying more things. Her outlook on life is beautiful and her family is just as beautiful. I just finished the episode where her and Michael discuss how having kids has changed their life. And OMG Lucie, you hit the jackpot. Michael is the man that we all hope to find for a partner and is the man we would love for our children. I am so elated for you that this man just adores you and it just pours out of every fiber of his being. I am, however, not discrediting that Michael is also lucky having you. Your relationship is beautiful and inspiring. Even even though we are strangers, I truly feel like I’m listening to a best friend talking about her life or having deep conversations when I listen to your podcast. There’s very few people that I feel have actually pulled that off, and you have done it so seamlessly. And you do it while asking questions in the most respectful way about hard topics. I cannot give enough recommendation to listen to this podcast to follow Lucie and her life.

wdvitfxbjrz26$9Interesting listen and very authenticI watch Lucies YT here and there before I had kids. It was nice to see a NYC YTber since I moved to MA from NY and now that she has children similar age to mine I relate in this way also. However those things are similar but I most strongly relate to her sense of individuality and being authentic and real with herself and her guests. The subject matter of these podcasts vary and is an interesting listen but her questions hit from a different perspective than your standard interviewers or podcasters. Overall an interesting listen.

KatieInHoustonEx bff episodeSo I hadnt even read or heard of Old Enough until I listened to this episode. I’m in full agreement that Izzie didn’t deserve to have her SA included/incorrectly portrayed without permission. But that’s really where my sympathy ends. Izzie seems to be protecting her brother who obviously violated Sav in some way based on context. And for Izzie to talk about her anger at their romance…. Girl, respectfully, grow up. Now I’m reading Old Enough. I think it’s likely both of these women aren’t innocent in the drama but I gotta say…. If my brother assaulted “my other half” best friend, he would be held accountable. He would not be invited to my wedding. I wouldn’t be indignant that a survivor used her life as a basis for cathartic writing. And for Izzie to show up to the book club event… yikes. That’s intense. Lastly, Izzie said it all when she said she couldn’t pursue charges or say too much because it put her brother at risk. I wonder why that would be! All in all I enjoyed the episode - obviously I got really wrapped up in it and now I’m reading the book. But could have challenged Izzie a bit more. I would love to hear a follow up episode with Sav’s story.
-
laurensimonsaysOh no…I went into this podcast ready to empathize with the “ex-bff “. However, listening to her complain about Savannah’s response to her SA while in the same breath consistently invalidating the authors SA was not only painful, but incredibly triggering. While the book certainly would’ve been hurtful to read, I don’t know if I could ever forgive a friend for discrediting my sexual trauma the way Izzy did - not only 8 years ago but also in this episode. I wish the interviewer did a better job of pushing and challenging the guest on her inappropriate points.
-
joanieandjennibThe only podcast I listen toI’ve watched Lucie for about 8 years and have always loved her storytelling, so it’s no surprise I love The Real Stuff. I am truly not a podcast girl, but Lucie is the exception to that. I will never miss an episode.
-
CocoelyellFantastic ShowLucid is a natural podcaster. Her episodes are engaging and polished, but still incredibly authentic and raw. She conducts her interview episodes with respectful curiosity and asks her guests truly every question that the audience would want to know. She has created such a special corner of the internet that I am so happy to have found!

Olivia TardifAmazing podcast!!! A must listenWhat a beautiful, funny, poignant listen this is! I’ve been a fan of yours since I was in college, watching you on YouTube in my dorm during your Refinery29 days. Sometimes feeling like “too much” or having “too big” a personality for others, I loved seeing you be your silly, sweet, funny, enthusiastic self and felt like this podcast has been a continuation of that. Now I’m in my late 20s, and it truly has brought me so much joy to watch you grow your family, your life, and your platform the past 10 years. I’m close with my family and two younger brothers, so naturally, your siblings episode with Rob and Allie brought me so much joy :) Thank you for talking about the things we can all feel guilty of being cringed out (the journalism minor in me is cringing writing that lol)/scared to talk about and doing it with so much class and grace. Keep up the amazing work Lucie, thank you!!!

anonymissssssGreat podcastFascinating story about Chiara - she stumped me too! You are not foolish for becoming invested, just a kind person who assumes the best in everyone. I came here after being directed on Instagram. Will listen to more episodes. Thanks!

Bpow1864Brilliant podcast!I have nothing but praise for this podcast and its host and creator, Lucie! I've been following her work since her Refinery29 days and was initially captivated by her stop-motion videos. It’s rare for me to consistently follow a content creator, but Lucie is a notable exception. She is articulate, open-minded, witty, and charming, with a genuine passion for her family and a continuous desire for learning. Her content is consistently impressive and surprisingly relatable, even if the topics don’t directly align with my own experiences. As a podcast host, Lucie excels at engaging listeners with deeper, thought-provoking questions and tackling taboo subjects with respect and sensitivity. I love how she creates a safe space for meaningful conversations, demonstrating that even our diverse experiences can reveal commonalities. I highly recommend this podcast—there truly is something for everyone.

bethany favLove it!I’ve been following Lucie for a long time & it’s so refreshing to hear such raw & honest conversations about topics that can be uncomfortable. I really enjoy the guests she has on and love hearing everyone’s stories. Love this pod!

CharTrottsIntroducing Lucie: the queen of raw, empathetic interviewingUnlike much of the audience of this podcast, I did not know of Lucie during her Refinery29 days. This podcast was my introduction, and I was immediately pulled in by her charisma, relatability, eloquence, and her strong interviewing skills. This show has filled a BIG gap in the podcast world. How many times have you listened to an interview, and you leave feeling completely unsatisfied because the only questions that were asked were either surface level or google-able? (For me, it’s been every podcast lately 😅). Want to listen to a substantive conversation with everyday people where the interviewer doesn’t stray from the tough questions that are on all our minds? And asks them in a way that’s magically empathetic and light-hearted?? This podcast is your answer! Strongly recommend listening today 🫶

KLayHeyI’ve been waiting for a podcast like this! For the longest time I got caught in a podcast rut of celebrities interviewing other celebrities. These conversations would be pretty run of the mill leaving me with an hour less in time yet no further knowledge gained. I have been a fan of Lucie on YouTube since her Refinery29 days and when she announced her podcast I knew it was what I was looking for all this time. Real conversations asking the questions that make us all human. Showing vulnerability and giving us answers to questions we sometimes are comfortable asking ourselves. Couldn’t recommend listening enough!
-
bria_g1LOVE💝I’ve been a long time Lucie fan for years and she is an INCREDIBLE human being, so it makes sense that her podcast is no short of incredible as well. I’ve been wanting a podcast like this for years, as I am someone who lives in the deep end and no topics are taboo for me. It is inspiring and fulfilling to see one of my favorite creators grow the platform and gain the recognition that they deserve through and through! Go Lucie & team!

RunwayloverFresh, Raw and HonestIn a world where many self improvement podcasts are starting to sound the same and to feature the same guests over and over who say the same things, this is such a breath of fresh air. I love how Lucy gets her guests to really talk about the real stuff, the stuff that they wouldn’t really talk about on other shows. She makes conversations about uncomfortable topics seem effortless and even fun sometimes. I love it and am excited to keep listening.

WhitneyFeghali1-2 KidsI don’t listen to a lot of podcasts but when I saw the topic of the most recent episode (What’s harder: going from 0-1 or 1-2 kids?) on Instagram I had to listen. I’m 36 weeks with my second baby. My daughters will be 26 months apart and I’ve been thinking about this topic a lot. I found both perspectives comforting because it’s what I’ve been theorizing too. Podcasts like this can be so validating. Thank you Lucie!
-
mchurnVery enjoyableI really like this podcast. Thanks Lucie! If I could be so bold as to give a bit of feedback, please consider a quick “we’ll be right back” or even just a quick sound clip to let us listeners know an ad break is about to begin. There’s nothing more frustrating to me than to be really in it, then all of a sudden listening to an ad about probiotics. Thank you again!

Ningzi_NovaLove the raw honest stories of humanityThis podcast is definitely one of a kind. I feel less lonely among fellow imperfect humans and have always wondered about the answers to so many taboo questions. I also commend Lucie for providing a safe place for people to be so vulnerable! This podcast has made my morning commute not just tolerable but enjoyable!!
-
1_2_3_lexReally refreshing honestyLucie brings the kind of hosting that I have always wanted in a podcast. She’s candid, she’s funny, she’s well spoken and most importantly, she’s direct. As someone who typically hates listening to podcasts with guests, I have yet to miss an episode of The Real Stuff. You don’t have to know anything about the guests mentioned before listening to feel fulfilled and connected to the show. Having listener submissions presents an extremely rare opportunity where the audience can listen to stories about average people and learn from their experiences. I highly recommend giving it a listen.
-
SS2109Already a Hit!I have been following Lucie for years (since before 2016) watching her grow, learn, adjust, share, explore, laugh, try new things, experiment, show her life, be vulnerable, talk about hard stuff, share medical details, and of course, eat pizza. Looking forward to hearing about the real stuff. Love the topics she is exploring.
-
Nèsi M.In-depth, real conversationsIn the continued evolution of who Lucie has always been publicly, she taps into her natural curiosity to discuss fun, serious and intimate topics with a diverse cast of guest. I really enjoy hearing how different people approach some of the biggest challenges and opportunities in their lives and feeling like I better understand motivations and points of view.
-
sophiayadonLucie is the best interviewer!I don’t listen to many podcasts consistently, but this is one that I countdown for the weekly release, and always want more as soon as I finish the episode. Lucie does an incredible job of getting guests to openly talk about all of the taboo conversation topics. I’ve been a Lucie fan since her refinery29 days, and am so excited for this new platform for more of her content!
-
BmpdcLove to listen and watch!I’ve listened to all 4 episodes so far. Love lucie's transparency and authenticity. I’ve got to say the episode with her dad reminded me how good ELO is! And it was really refreshing to hear such an open and honest conversation between a father and daughter. I downloaded Mr. blue sky immediately after watching. I honestly look forward to the next episode as soon I finish one. But the merch in Ep.9 when are we getting?!

djs103799Lucie: Alive on all PlatformsI’ve been a Lucie fan since her days at R29, and I love watching her evolve on every platform she steps onto. With every new media version of Lucie, her followers witness her craft evolve from photo, to video, and now to sound. The Real Stuff is everything we love about Lucie & more. As always, we hear the honesty we love from her and the thoughtfulness we recognize about her which is present in all of her content. The Real Stuff provides a new perspective on Lucie, her life, and her thoughts as a human being. Thank you for the show, Lu!

HWorksOutGood show, but Lucie could be more assertive as the host.I really enjoy the format of this podcast. The variety when it comes to not only the guests on the show but also the content discussed, is really great! However, I wish the intros would be a tad bit shorter. I also think it would also be nice if Lucie were a bit more assertive in her role as the host. She seems to interject the show with a lot of internal commentary questioning her own decisions by saying things along the lines of, “I wasn’t sure what role I should play in ____ conversation, whether I should have felt more like ___ or ___,” or “I wasn’t sure if I should have asked ___ or ___ at this part,” etc. With as many years of media under her belt as she has, this internal commentary comes across as being inexperienced, when she has NO reason to give that impression to her audience, regardless of whether this is her first podcast. I think she could do away with that commentary, or at least make it seem a little less self-doubting. As a listener, I want to focus on the guests or the topic of the show, not necessarily the host’s internal commentary that can sometimes make me question her credibility. Otherwise, the show is lovely!

Mitsu BishiForever listening to Lucie!I’ve been following Lucie on social media for several years now, I don’t think I’ve ever missed anything she’s uploaded. Love her transparency, rawness, and just realness. She’s so relatable and brings her well rounded thoughts to the table and it translates SO well to a podcast. I’m a first time to a almost 1 year old boy and even he likes when I pop her on the tv, just sits there and smiles just like he does when Ms.Rachel comes on! Keep up the good work Lucie!
-
Abbyna30Authentic!I have never listened to a podcast until The Real Stuff! I love Lucie’s authenticity and openness to different perspectives and lifestyles. Literally the best show!
-
Ajep24Refreshing & EngagingThis podcast makes my household chores and commute way more entertaining and interesting. It’s so refreshing to hear someone with a public platform talk about topics that most people don’t want to broach with their own friends and family. Thank you for creating a safe space and sharing so openly!

Hillaryclinton101I Love LucieI have been watching Lucie’s videos over a number of years and she has always been an inspiring, creative, and introspective person. So, I was super excited when she came out with a podcast. The first episode I listened to opened my eyes. I love that she interviews real people, with real problems, and shows that every person has made mistakes and is a flawed human. I love hearing so many people’s different perspectives dealing with similar problems. There is something about hardships and human connection that Lucie vocalizes and empathizes in her podcast that reach an audience that cares and is curious about human beings. She is reserved without judgement and an empathetic listener. I love how insightful the podcast is. It is definitely one of my new favorite podcasts that will become part of my routine weekly! I appreciate people talking about about hard topics and I like hearing how they grew and what they learned throughout their own personal experiences. Keep it up, Lucie! We need more content like this!! ☺️

Lucie’s authentic curiosity comes through so strongly and her transparent and reflective style feels safe and true.
