As an example of how indifferent or oblivious these guys are about how the podcast actually sounds, check out the April 1st one. Try to understand anything Pete Dougherty is saying as he phones it in from the airport or wherever. Instead of a host who adds nothing, consider a technical producer. Maybe listen to the podcast and do some quality control before uploading. Or having Silverstein record solo could solve a couple problems

Content is the best for packers podcasts. However, The sound is consistently horrible and the podcasters seem completely unaware or unwilling to address.

Oh c’mon, guys! I know this isn’t ESPN, but can’t we turn down the TV in the background so that we can understand what’s being said?! Generally, this is a decent podcast with good analysis. However, its production lacks a degree of professionalism that is frustrating.

Tom Silversteins delivery reminds me of Eeyore. The propensity of his co-hosts to stroke his ego is a little strange. Pete and Eric do a really good job too.

You're clowns. Your take on the Vikings is intellectually lazy. You're still regurgitating preseason talking points while simultaneously slobbering over a packers team that has played nearly an identical schedule to the Vikings. No one is saying the Vikings are a lock to win the Super Bowl. But to say they're not a good team is the height of idiocy. I guess you're entitled to your opinions. It's just a shame that these opinions are uninformed and completely lacking a factual basis. But I can understand your jealousy of a great franchise like the Vikings, as opposed to your bandwagon fake Packer fandom.

Spoon is always very honest and insightful - he doesn’t just say what you want to hear. He’s been reporting on the Packers for decades, so he knows the franchise extremely well. Ryan is the same way and often touches on interesting moments that happened during the game and correctly notices and expounds on player/team trends.

Kicking off every show by asking both Spoon and the other guy “what are your general observations about the game” is not hosting. Given that these people are in the locker room talking to players and coaches, I would expect much better in terms of insight and intriguing conversation. But that is only possible with a host who sets the group up for success.

I’m done for the time being. The audio levels are so horrible it’s just not worth listening to.

Please do something to balance the audio. Almost turned it off several times. Good content just really hard to listen to.

Great content. The microphone levels are sketchy to terrible. Like this is a burden for these guys to do this, and that’s how it sounds. I don’t want to hear them compliant players being fan unfriendly when this is their effort. And they can blame the newbies for their lack of effort.

Spoon is awesome but the sound quality has actually gotten worse, and I didn’t think that was possible. Maybe switch to Morse Code.

This could be best Packer podcast if it were not for the terrible audio quality. The content is excellent and represents a true inside look at the team from professional sports journalists. There are plenty of Twitter fan boy podcasts with retread takes but this one is the only true Packer podcast.

Spoon is worth the price of admission, and Ryan Wood has a balance of insightful and irksome observations that holds one’s interest. The rotating crew of hosts has varying levels of quality. The thing that kills me is the audio. Balance it. Ryan at 100 db, Spoon at 50 db, and the host at 75 db happens frequently enough to be an ongoing issue. Please standardize the mics and have an engineer take at least a quick pass over the audio. The MJS should have higher production quality than this.

The show may be better or worse than ratings but given that 1 microphone and sometimes 2 are impossible to hear who would know? Seriously, if you’re the podcast of one of the major newspapers in the state you shouldn’t have sound quality worse than every amateur podcaster in their basement. One person is typically totally fine and understandable, 1 always sounds like the mic vol is turned down to 2 and the other sounds like they sitting in the next room and it isn’t always the same person so about half of what is said can be heard. The pod is quickly becoming a waste of time given so many others can at least provide sound.

JR is excellent on the podcast. Smooth, asks insightful questions, knowledgeable, speaks very clear and rarely has mic problems. New person on 8/25 podcast needs to find a better microphone. Here we go again with low grade audio. Does anyone do mic checks before the show ? By the way, Ryan seemed like he was shot out of a cannon on the episode. Boy, he was really charged up. Couldn’t stop rambling.

They need to figure the audio production out. Spoons audio is barely audible and Ryan’s is way too loud. I constantly have to turn the volume up and down depending on who’s soaking

Seriously, this podcast is fantastic when Spoon is on board, but Ryan Wood is ridiculous. He spent half the latest episode telling us that none of what he was saying mattered because it’s just the offseason camp. Do you think we are all too stupid to know that? And if none of what you’re talking about matters, why are you speaking??? It’s not worth listening to this show until we get to training camp, at least. This guy thinks we are too ignorant to know the season hasn’t started.

Great podcast by Tom, Ryan and J. R. I love that J.R. asks intelligent questions! I admire Tom and Ryan for pondering the questions before giving informative analysis! This is my favorite football podcast, although Andy Herman pack a day and Move the Sticks are good also! Finally, great video by J R Radcliffe explaining Compensatory Draft Picks, I will have to listen again, really complex! Great job guys! Randy B

I feel like this pod underrated for its game talk and analysis and appreciate that it’s run local. spoon and ryan are at their best when the host can joke with them and ask insightful questions. kassidy really hit her stride with them by the end, but i’m also enjoying jr so far

Been a JS online reader or listener for 25 years. Tom and Ryan are real pros and explain the Why more than the what about Title Town. Don’t expect the warm and fuzzy on all things Packers, but good analysis. Tom and Ryan have so much experience and are in the locker room every day in the season so you get the inside scoop. It may bend negative at times, but still honest

Ryan always sounds like he would rather be doing anything other than recording a podcast. Why does it seem like he hates JR or maybe just covering the Packers in general?

I gave up on this podcast after a few episodes with Kassidy…she was not great and Tom’s non-hidden disdain made it not worth listening to. Much improved.

Yowsa some of the reviews are rough. I have enjoyed this podcast through multiple hosts. Each brings their own pros and cons, but the beat staff is very knowledgeable and informed

JR is crisp and production is improved. Really good flow.

Getting rid of Kassidy is the best thing that could have happened with this podcast. The production value is way up, the conversation is focused on Packer football (not Taylor Swift, or the SEC) and you don’t have to listen to some stumble over every word and not be able to do basic math around down and distance. 1,000 times better!! Thank you for making the change!!

Thank you for bringing in JR Radcliffe. He had improved the production quality of this pod in just a few episodes. I hope he stays on on gets this podcast back to where it was before Olivia left. Tom and Ryan are well-informed and insightful, but they need good support- JR does that so well. Maybe he could help Pete abs Brian, too. Thanks for adding him to the podcast!

Wow. I just felt super compelled to leave a 3 star review telling them to normalize the volume. I click “Add a review” and it tells me to edit my last review from years ago- which is 3 stars with the subject “Normalize the volume!” That says it all. No one is producing this thing. It’s some great journalists and nobody producing, which means it’s unlistenable. Time to switch to Pack A Day or one of the other Packers podcasts. JS Online apparently can’t afford a college kid with a laptop. Jesus I would do it for free. Just put in the MINIMUM effort. Original review follows- A great podcast in terms of content. Unfortunately it’s almost unlistenable sometimes due to the sound quality. There’s two easy fixes! One- The hosts need to get on the mics better. Two- The volume needs to be normalized, so that it has a consistent volume throughout. Right now, it sounds like they are in a warehouse talking with their backs to the microphone.

It’s very difficult to hear you. My volume is turned up to 11 and still can’t hear what you’re saying.

I don’t mind the regular show, but the After Further Review guys are unlistenable. The most recent episode one of the hosts is consistently sucking a straw until you hear him get to nothing but ice while his cohost is talking. No thanks.

We enjoy listening to this podcast but hardly can listen enjoyably because one person sounds so soft so we turn the volume up, then the other person talks and it is so loud. Somehow you have to even out the volume.

The sound/volume is still a big problem. I wish Tom was as happy to be there as Kassidy. Ryan has grown on me. I now think his insights may be the the most right on. I,too, think the introduction needs some work. I am thankful for it and never miss it so carry on.

Tom’s analysis and commentary is some of the most insightful available. The production quality, sound levels, etc are bad. After further review is a waste of time.

I like how often they put out content. But the audio quality is really bad. The main host, the lady, always sounds like her nose is plugged and Tom sounds like he wants to be anywhere else and doing anything else besides podcasting. I mean, you’re talking about the Packers. Maybe try and sound like you’re stoked about it.

A lot of good Packers info, but Tom and Ryan don’t really seem to want to be on the podcast. Kassidy is pleasant and does her best to keep things positive and lively.

A great team! Tom Silverstein deep understanding of schemes allows him to break down plays and players’ performances so we can understand what went well and what the Packers need to work on. Ryan Wood also has great insights and is not afraid to disagree with Tom. Kassidy Hill does a great job as moderator keeping the discussion moving forward and covering all important topics. It’s the best podcast to really understand where the Packers are at and what they need to do to be successful in the future.

They have insight into the team which is good, however they don’t have much energy or seem to want to do this. The host is just a cliche machine, Silverstein sounds bored, Ryan is the best of the 3.

Love this podcast, great news and topic coverage and content. Only issue is the audio is horrible. With the volume at almost max I can still barely hear the conversations.

Ryan Wood’s microphone needs to be adjusted. His voice goes back and forth between understanding what he says and not hearing what he says. Quite frankly it spoils the podcast. He must improve the audio quality.

I love listening to Tom and Ryan. They are great. The only problem is deciding whether you want to hear Tom and get your eardrums blown out when Ryan talks or listen to Ryan and not be able to hear Tom. If they can get their respective volumes figured out then it’s a really good podcast.

Spoon and Ryan are very knowledgeable and provide good information on the team. The host is another story. It annoys me to no end when she talks over them. Just let the experts speak. She also spends an awful lot of time on non-Packers related subjects.

Ryan and Tom know their stuff, but they often come across as reluctant podcasters to me, and that’s before their varying volume levels. Kassidy doesn’t have the same chops but she gets good insights and is on the rise. Also wish the old guys spent less time quibbling with Kassidy over minutiae. Gives the podcast a boys club feel. When they’re all on topic and rolling, it’s as good as it gets for in-depth, in the locker room discussion and insight.

If you’re recording a podcast, it seems like a best practice to put your phone on silent (not just vibrate, which comes through pretty clearly on the recording).

Solid Packer content but the audio is ridiculously bad. Hard to listen to it.
