Came for the magic, stayed for the charm, remembered it for the Tony award worthy stage production

I have a crush on Megan like crazy. She reminds me of a cute substitute teacher.

I just tuned in to GLHF on my drive home and loved it! I am an EDH player but this podcast knocks the socks off some of the regular ones I listen to - nice to just have some playful banter and jokes (truly funny jokes too!) alongside content discussion. Always love when a podcast makes me gut laugh alone in my car. I couldn’t stop when they were on the kick about the exploding baseball, freaking hilarious. Will be tuning back in!

Very professional production and hosting. Maria comes from a career at pbs and her experience shows. She is fantastic as is her frequent commentary job on the pro tour. Things that I don’t like: iTunes podcasts keeps messing up my played/unplayed markers and my subscription always gets messed up. I keep getting old episodes as “new and unplayed.” The hosts are standard format players and while there’s nothing wrong with that, they have little to say about commander which is a shame because it’s the most popular format according to wotc.

I think these girls do a great job at covering recent happenings in the MTG world. They touch on specific details that are not covered as well in other podcasts. I gave it a 4/5 though because after listening for a while, I just feel like they are both kind of obnoxious :p 难听一点

I love this podcast I don’t listen to any others except for a few! But this is top tier! I love this podcast it helps me with my magic decks and arena. This podcast is so great this is my favorite mtg podcast! (I laugh so hard some times!)

I’ve been listening for a few years now, and this show never gets old. This is the podcast I always come back to when I need to hear something genuinely positive and fun. It covers the most up-to-date developments in the world of Magic, with an emphasis on standard and draft formats. The hosts are entertaining but you might not ‘get’ their humor if you’re a new listener since there are a lot of running gags. It’s the type of podcast that gets better the longer you stick with it. Maria is actually a professional esports commentator, and she is really good at what she does. I highly recommend it for both entertainment and information.

If there was an Award for the podcast with the most helpful information on happenings in the Magic community, funniest improv, inclusive hosts, and overall most “feel good” vibes, it would be awarded to Good Luck High Five. I love this podcast sooo much! Meghan and Maria are hilarious and knowledgeable, and it’s always really nice to have more content by women. As a queer Magic player they always make me feel welcome and included. I look forward to the podcast every week and even signed up for Patreon specifically to support them! They give me hours of entertainment in the car and I hope they continue to make great content for a long time!

Meghan and Maria just got me permabanned from my local LGBTQ friendly game store because I had a twitter feud with them 4 years ago. They then lied and told the store I stalk them and take pictures of their homes. Factually untrue. I’ve heard other stories of bullying like this from them. Wow.

Goes from cursory glance to deep dives with a good sense of humor.

I’m not saying you can’t enjoy this, but these two really annoyed me after trying to listen to a few episodes. I just didn’t get their humor and found them a bit odd for my taste. Give it a try and maybe you’ll feel different, but I personally cringe a bit when I hear their voices.

Don't let the 'Amateur' part of the name fool you. These hosts are the funniest and most engaging MTG personalities out there for any skill level. As someone else has said, they're the Click and Clack (Car Talk) of the community.

With a light hearted tone and great chemistry, these hosts do a great job of making Magic seem less intimidating. Love it :)

Just signal boosting magic content that isn’t cancer. 10/10

I mean it

The command zone is great, but I feel like the majority of players don't play commander exclusivly. This podcast is great because it's exactly what it's advertised, to amateur Magic players learning everything there is to know about the game; which is how we all started out! Plus not to mention talking to pros and actually trying to learn episode by episode!

A podcast so good, in 20 years there will be a podcast dedicated to discussing episodes of it! Seriously, my friend has been listening to a podcast about the old TV Show friends. Each episode the discuss an episode of the show! What?! Anyway. Somebody is going to do that with M:tA.

They haven't killed me yet!

Very informative but still very listenable. I''ve split up listening between the begining and the point when the oldest set in Standard came out when I started. That has been pretty helpfull. Might stalk, haven't decided yet.

Meghan and Mariah manage to make a, quite frankly, complicated game and game-landscape, easy to understand, and fun to keep up with. An easy recommend, whether you're yet to really figure out what every card in your starter deck does, up to those who have been playing far longer than the rest of us.

I started listening to this podcast a year or so ago and enjoyed the initial episodes. Over time though I feel it has not delivered on content and the language one of the hosts chooses to use is not up my alley.

But this show is great!

If you're here reading reviews, you're probably asking yourself "Should I listen to Magic: The Amateuring?" Well I'm here to tell you that's the wrong question. You should be asking "Why am I not listening already?"! MTA is an informative and funny podcast if you play, want to play, or have never even heard of Magic: The Gathering. Come listen to two girls and one ghost discuss the meta, new sets, triggers, and if trains can go backwards! There's absolutely no reason to not give them a try and always remember to wish an opponent good luck, high five!

These ladies make a hell of a show and I presume that's why WotC has been hitting them up for PR and marketing. This is what the face of gaming needs to be: funny and inclusive. Nice.

Magic is not just a game, it’s a community; with its own traditions, mores, celebrities, special events, and problems. Megan and Maria do a great job casting a light on all of that, from updates in game strategy to rooting for their favorite pros to discussions of the sexism or other problems in the community and how to address them. Listening to them is not only wildly entertaining, but lets me feel connected to people around the world who share my love for this game. For anyone who loves the game, or who is just curious about the world of Magic and wants to know more, I can’t recommend this podcast enough.

This podcast never fails to entertain me from week to week. Meghan and Maria hilariously produce top notch MTG content in every episode. I listen to you guys at the gym and I laugh nonstop while on the treadmill, which probably makes people think I'm crazy. I cannot recommend this podcast enough.

Having been an amateur magic player for years myself, I've found this podcast to be very entertaining. Not only is there a seasoned, serious vet helping out with rules and explanations, the two "noobs" are genuine in their immediate love for the game. The interactions between the hosts and their guests are hilarious, and I applaud them for their foray into Magic the gathering online and various formats! I listened to episodes 5-12 while driving to Norfolk from Charleston this weekend, and I was so entertained I never got sleepy on the drive. That's something special.

I am new and this is the perfect podcast! I sent it to my friends and girlfriend to get them into MTG as well, thank you!

I've played magic for about 15 years and have read/watched countless hours of content that focuses on the game. Rarely have I found hosts/creators that are so wildly entertaining while still providing meaningful content. This podcast is hysterical and leaves you constantly wanting more.

I found you guys through Tolarian Community College, and have been listening since late BFZ. I have since backtracked to the early podcasts and I love it! This is literally my favorite MTG podcast. It is fun, hits a variety of topics, is fun, combines topical and timless stuff, its fun. Not many podcasts make me blind with laughing tears. This one manages. On my short list of Do Not Miss podcasts.
