GhostlodesOk with Apple TechIf they stuck to Apple and general tech information, which they seem somewhat knowledgeable about in a focused way, they might have an okay show. Unfortunately, they are intolerant bigots. Two of the three hosts constantly speak in a patronizing way anything they don’t like, understand, or agree with in a very off-putting way. Your time may be better spent getting real information as opposed to strongly held opinions based on ignorance.

edoleckiUsed to be goodWay too political. One minute they talk about being nice to people, protect them, allow them to freely live their lives. Then provide derision to Tim Cook and others for living their free lives. Leave the politics out of it. Moving on.

Spiderguy84Like many others, I came for the tech, left due to the politicsBeen subscribed for years. Unsubscribed as I simply tire of the fear mongering that went from “if Trump wins” to stating that the entire Republican platform is to “make the rich richer”. It’s not, and the reason you believe it is due to the fear mongering from the other side of the aisle. Yes, I can skip some chapters and get to the only part of the show people care about, but I’ve simply had it with the crying about things that aren’t even true.

ReaganBThe problem with ATP…You no longer have anything interesting thing to say. You used to. But not anymore. You haven’t for a while. So after ten years, I’m unsubscribing. Maybe you can turn it around. Good luck.

geol9Excited for Marco's new chapterReally looking forward to the restaurant adventures!

jdma3More emoji chapter titles!I’m at the point where I can barely listen to the podcast anymore. It’s so bad. And boring. I tend to pick and choose chapters based on the titles. But when the titles are incomprehensible emoji, I don’t listen to any of them! And you know what? I didn’t miss listening to the episode at all this week. Keep up the great work, guys!

Alex6464Insufferably PoliticalAs others have noted, this show was great 5 years ago. It has changed, and not for the better. I’ll leave specific criticism to other reviews. Suffice it to say, I agree with everything else I read. It’s a shame. This used to be a must listen. I recommend the “Upgrade” podcast as an alternative.

_ch453Three guys in a bubbleI like these guys. However since they all went financially independent, I feel that they have become really out of touch with the general public. Casey makes me feel cringe whenever he constantly apologizes to his online followers for something he said in a prior episode. He also so desperately wants to be Marco it’s kinda sad. You just don’t know the guy because he’s such a chameleon half the time depending on how the internet nerd mob feels that very second. Marco is a very talented individual in his craft. I highly respect him for what he does. However, his wealth has made him become very out of touch. He’s been in this comfort bubble the longest and it’s very apparent when he goes on political rants while talking through his nose. John is the main reason I listen to the show. His experience as a senior engineer and personality really bring a lot of entertainment to the podcast. It’s hard to say the show has become three very talented people living in their financial comfort bubble. It’s just what it is now. There’s good material here, but then there’s really cringe behavior that’s very difficult to get through.

Polka dotssSkip itTLDR: Was OK a decade ago, but they have run out of gas. Happened to see a new episode over Thanksgiving and listened after a long while of skipping these. Sad to say, but they’re out of ideas. It feels like the show just exists to sell memberships.
-
TimrudgeAtpShow has really gone downhill. Marco used to tell everyone which MacBook he bought and review it on the show. Almost no mention of M4 Macs on the show.

Jrow85Stick to Tech!In the past, I eagerly anticipated each episode of ATP, a podcast that once engaged in insightful discussions about technology, gadgets, and the latest trends in the technology industry. Its unique blend of profound analysis, insider knowledge, and relatable commentary set it apart. Regrettably, in recent months, the podcast has strayed significantly from its original focus and has become a platform for protracted political rants. While it is natural for technology and politics to intersect—issues such as data privacy, AI ethics, and tech regulations inherently involve political considerations—the podcast has taken this connection to an extreme. Episodes are now dominated by personal grievances, ideological posturing, and political debates that are often unrelated to technology. It is disheartening to witness thoughtful discussions on innovation being supplanted by repetitive, one-sided commentary on broader political issues. This shift has alienated many long-time listeners. The podcast’s ability to make complex technology topics accessible and engaging was its hallmark. Of course, politics should not be entirely excluded from the podcast’s content—it is their platform, after all. However, the balance has been severely skewed.

ReifelaAccidentally Technically PoliticsA shell of a former tech show that is now all politics and complaining.
-
BarrowcliftNo longer enjoyableIt’s a real shame, the show gradually became a shell of its former self. It’s missing that lighthearted and good-spirited energy that made the earlier episodes so endearing.
-
JayMM1Grossly PoliticalYou would think a tech show would be about technology but this show is far more about politics and telling you how to vote. Avoid.
-
Vulgar demosInsufferableReally hard to stomach them when they veer away from tech. They don’t really know anything, even if you agree with them. That makes it really difficult to listen to them. Same experience during Covid/BLM days. They were lecturing listeners about reading more. Have they done the reading?
-
Aaron1599Voting with my dollar.I love this show, but I had to unsubscribe from my membership because while I thoroughly enjoy the content you put out with the bootleg and member specials, I don’t appreciate that you co-opt your paid member base and all other podcast listeners into your shockingly hateful partisan politics. If I want political commentary I know where to get it. Also what even is this show anymore? Like I actually am not sure what the subject matter is. I used to say it was a tech podcast with humorous banter but I genuinely can’t put a finger on a clear topic.
-
iamamazedInsufferableShow has gone downhill. Three middle aged white men who are confidently incorrect in most situations.
-
Roman56.Accidental Politics PodcastI thought this podcast about tech not politics.
-
BrettmanPolitical babiesListened to the show for years, but it’s election season and they can’t help but shove their politics into an otherwise politically neutral show. According to Casey, Marco and John, if you don’t vote the same way they do you’re racist, sexist etc. So hilariously and painfully out of touch while simultaneously condescending and arrogant. Find another show if you want tech and Apple news.
-
strai8upBillion star reviewAlways great technical discussion, but I have to say the way you guys come out for this election was an amazing surprise and hugely appreciated by this long time listener
-
EatsByDreMore tech, less politicsI used to really enjoy listening to ATP, but it’s recently gotten too political for me. In a news cycle where politics is everywhere, I just want a break. I want to listen for tech/Apple news (and what I believe is excellent and informed commentary from three experienced hosts) not politics. Episode 611 was too much for me. The hosts saying the election will be stolen from their preferred candidate even if their preferred candidate wins is completely baseless and unnecessary inflammatory rhetoric in an already tense climate. Maybe I’ll come back again when things have cooled down.
-
minpinmaxStay out of PoliticsI used to enjoy their take on tech. I was so disappointed when they had to give their opinion on the election. It really turned me off. Unsubscribing.

assb10yrMarco justifying his dumb BMW purchaseIt’s official Marco is the dumbest host with money.
-
tristan_sUsed to be greatThis podcast used to be my favorite. Now it’s devolved into Casey and Marco complaining about Apple every episode. I stuck around because of John’s nuance and level headed approach to the issues, but even that isn’t enough to counter the constant whining anymore.
-
ShinyoldwindowTaking a break…Taking a break, perhaps not coming back to listen ever again. The show has become repetitive with narrow, negative points of views out of everything Apple or any other companies does.
-
AudrainIn a rut? When this show is at its best, with John Siracusa explaining and appreciating some aspect of an Apple product or experience, it’s like nothing else. But Casey and Marco are app developers, with apparently unlimited vitriol toward most of the things Apple does to make money, and unlimited energy for mulling over—is ‘bitterly mulling’ a thing?—Apple’s interactions with the EU and with developers. They can’t really grasp users’ perspective (for instance, they dismiss the security questions around sideloading as all but irrelevant), and they go on and on, whingeing unstoppably in the way that middle-aged men so readily do. It would be funny if it didn’t make such long stretches of the show unlistenable. So sadly, unless you’re seeking the grinding tedium of listening to someone complain till they’re hoarse, it’s not such a good listen any more.
-
GIS AdmGet over the DMAI have listened to the show for a few years, the last couple of months have been sad. I am done listening, you are obsessed with the DMA. I think you spend more time thinking about it than Apple does. Also when Marco thinks he knows more than Tim Cook does about what Apple should do, you really need to step back and realize you are indie developers not just executives. It’s a shame I used to like the show, but when Marco said Tim Cook needs to go I laughed at him and shut the show off. Best of luck, hope you guys recover from the tailspin.

Rich Aesthetic ReviewsUneducated and immature hostsWaste of time listening to this bunch. Nothing but a group of geezers high off their egos.
-
Igor RusinovAccidental Tech PodcastWould be a lot better without Liss. Why? Too many not funny jokes, cringe sounds, interrupting other hosts, basically bringing nothing to discussion (he just states the obvious/repeats what others said), did I mention cringe sounds?
-
_patroclus_Fantastic Podcast!Wonderful podcast with insightful and amusing conversations on technology!
-
Riqo3kDo they like anything?Show has become overly negative. Find myself skipping to chapters that may generate positive discussions between the hosts.
-
MrShowToo many ads!Love the show but the amount of ads has gotten ridiculous. The first 20 minutes of the April 11 episode is essentially an ad.
-
M A 4Endless rants with 3 friendsThese might not be happy people, but sometimes you just want to hear people rant about a topic of interest, and these three friends can rant with the best of them! They do tend to repeat a lot of the same complaints over and over, and sometimes they invent explanations that are proven wrong and then spend a little too much time defending why they were right “from a certain point of view,” Kenobi-style. And sometimes they spiral deep into negative what-if scenarios—a kind of anti-fanfic. But I don’t even care, because it’s easy to skip ahead thanks to the well-organized chapters. (Just don’t miss the custom album art!) Three interesting personalities who have honed fear and anger into a fine art. Sometimes that’s just what I’m after!

DocWallabyOh look, Marco’s complaining again …And Casey’s piling on! (Drinking game: take a swig whenever Casey calls something Apple says or does “gross.”) While John’s pedantry used to essentially be played for laughs, the Hypercritical one is now the only sane member of the triumvirate reining in his two cohosts when they go off the rails. In a recent episode, for instance, Marco basically stated that Apple canceling Epic’s European developer account is a warning to all developers to not badmouth Apple, lest you too lose your developer account for the crime of hurting Apple’s feelings. Mr. Siracusa had to step in and explain just how unreasonable that interpretation was. But Marco will never miss a chance to take the most uncharitable interpretation of Apple’s actions and then turn that up to eleven. It amazes me that two men who have built their current careers off of Apple’s platforms lack so much self-awareness when they incessantly(and with increasingly hyperbolic language) complain about Apple’s sense of entitlement. (Pots and kettles.) Honestly? It’s kinda gross. If you want to listen to more Apple content, The Talk Show is still my top pick. Gruber and his weekly-ish guests generally are able to call out Apple’s faults without it becoming a sad parody. If you want more Siracusa content, Reconcilable Differences is always a fun listen unless there’s toe content. But my patience with and respect for ATP has fallen off of a cliff.

Gameman114If You Hate Apple Then This Is the Podcast for You!!Every episode is essentially the same: over 2 hours of the hosts constantly talking about all the things they hate about Apple. Occasionally one of them will break in to remind the audience that they actually love Apple, so they don’t lose subscribers, but then it’s right back to the hate. This podcast gets tiresome VERY quickly.
-
adiago1492It has become so boring…I’ve been hitting the skip button on more and more chapters.
-
Aditya514My kind of peopleMy favorite tech podcast. Marco, Casey and John are my kind of people. Been listening for the past 3 years and will keep listening. Wish there was an easy way to catch up with older episodes.

JustinL81Accidental Talk PoliticsI was a huge fan for since the beginning. I purchased T shirts, subscribed to Overcast, and even was able to say Hi to John at PAX East a few years back when I randomly saw him. But since the injection of politics over the last 4 years I can no longer listen to this. I don’t need to listen to naval gazing about whatever the hot button topic of the week is. If you want to talk politics I would suggest starting another podcast. Please consider not everyone has the same viewpoint and that doesn’t mean they are bad people. I historically listened because it was a fun light hearted discussion around the Apple tech eco system. I understand my opinion is only one person but feel the need to speak up as I would like to see the podcast focus again on what brought everyone together in the first place. I am willing to revisit again in the future.
-
B0C12DisconnectedUsed to love this show. But over time the hosts have become more and more disconnected from average people in their condescending and sometimes insulting ways they discuss things, up to and including random rants on politics. They view it as some moral requirement to lecture the audience on political subjects rather than being a fun, escapist show.

dhs_laxI’m Only Here for the KnobsLeft a long time ago. Saw there was a segment on knob-based microwaves. Came back for that segment, which was great. Leaving again.
-
RPS90483Fun show but extremely loquaciousTopics are always fun for Apple fans. However, Marco and Casey really struggle getting to a point even if you’re playing the podcast at 2x—just endless parentheticals and side stories to the point where you forget what they’re talking about.
-
uncle farkusWhat’s wrong with the tech worldThis show used to be great. Then they got caught up in politics and virtue signaling too much. Aside from raising money for St Jude, they don’t contribute anything to make the world better even though they think their mere existence as woke white men makes up for their whiteness. I’d like to see them cede the show to 3 genders of color that aren’t white or men. Only then will they be as good as they think they are.

abridge683A podcast in declineOver the past four years or so ATP has declined substantially in content and relevancy. There’s way too much about Marco’s living conditions, his car, his travails using the ferry. John’s rants have become longer and even less focused. As a result he’s entering into the old man waving his cane at kids to keep off the lawn. Sometimes he has interesting thoughts and perspectives — but they are becoming fewer and farther between. And Casey apologizes a lot for no good reason beyond a pathological need not to upset anyone ever. And there’s the push for merch and the pleas to subscribe and send them money. Honestly, guys, you were better as amateurs than professional podcasters. When you actually focused on tech you added value. Today I can easily skip 50% of the podcast and often more. It’s a sad decline.

iamrosales1I’m checking outI starting listening to this show for the tech, but lately it seems like it’s a lot of complaining, and begging for people to become a paying member. This weeks episode was all about how the ad market is so down right now, and how they depend on members. Maybe it’s just coincidence, but their “ad downfall” seems to have started when Marco went on his rant and basically told everyone that if they didn’t share his political views, to stop listening to him, and stop following him. Maybe his conservative listeners listened to him and abandoned the show. Maybe it took advertisers as well. They should stick to tech, and maybe start a new show where they can share their political views.

TofuNattoJason needs to let Myke talk!Stop interrupting Myke all the time and let the man talk! But I like the show 😁
-
farfromrestOne of my favoritesBeen listening for years. Only podcast that I give money to for extra content. Each week I can’t wait for the new episode!
-
samcat116This show has become just 90% complainingI used to love this show, however it seems like most of the show topics end up in complaining about how things aren’t good enough for them. It had a good run.
-
JdgmxACPEverything was going well until Casey started ranting. Then I just stopped listening. Should rename to Accidental Complain Podcast.

SmileyAlohaI often enjoy the tech talkTheir love of all things donald trump and the veiled anti-woke agenda gets old pretty fast.
