MoloneseStrange dynamicMy challenge with this podcast is that the host treats his wife like a child and that’s for me, as a woman is hard to listen to. The older episodes are even more disturbing. The host is also not consistent with his classes and I therefore unsubscribed.
-
Winged PickleThis is greatI’ve learned so much from this.
-
WinewithchristinaGreat for grammar and comprehensionI’ve found this to be one of the best podcasts for beginner Spanish, especially if you already have Latin language base. It’s clear, concise, gives you both an English speaker and a native Spanish speaker (the Colombian accent is tricky!), useful phrases, important grammar etc. They’re short enough you can go back and listen several times. Highly recommend!
-
QE InfinityBest podcast for learning SpanishEach episode explains some part(s) of Spanish and fleshes it out with dialogue, and practice. Lots of language learning tips too.
-
Trumpet25OverviewGreat show for someone trying to learn and grow in their Spanish knowledge

KylaPIncrease volume and clarity of conversationsI just started listening to your podcast and I saw reviews were requested both for motivation and feedback. So I am giving 5 stars for motivation and encouragement to keep getting better and creating more content because what you are doing is useful. But I am a bit turned off by the current audio quality of the Spanish conversational parts. After listening to 3-4 episodes I notice that the conversational segments are either lower volume, muffled, or perhaps not using very good mics. As a result its extra hard to make out what the lady is saying, which is key because I want to train my ears to native speakers. Yet the narrative parts the audio sounds very clear. So I probably will keep looking elsewhere. But I will keep checking back in case this improves!

nyc4321Great for maintenance and practiceI love this podcast as a supplement to my regular classes. It’s fun, the hosts are pleasant and don’t waste time on unrelated chit chat. It’s short enough to fit easily in a car ride or a walk but it’s packed with vocabulary and grammar. I love practicing old words and constructions, and picking up a few new words. They repeat a lot and give you a chance to practice. Because one of them is a native English speaker, he explains a lot of the more subtle differences quite well. Liz does need to speak more loudly but overall it’s one of the best podcasts I’ve found to practice Spanish.

MattLee2713THANK YOUI learned Spanish years ago and don’t get a ton of opportunities to practice. I’m always looking for ways to maintain my listening and comprehension skills, THANK YOU so much for this podcast and your other podcasts. You are both easy to understand and have interesting conversations i actually want to listen to. THANK YOU!!!!!!

chelseababyy94Love!!!Great podcast :)
-
Drawn by MoonlightThank you!It is easy to listen to these and 10 minutes is the perfect length - I appreciate the inclusion of unique words as well. In each lesson I feel like I learn something new! I’m happy I discovered your podcast!

Spanish LearnersNot RecommendedThe female speaker on this podcast is exceptionally difficult to understand. It took me and a fluent Spanish speaker more than an hour to be able to try to transcribe (barely) 10 minutes of this podcast, particularly in her poorly articulated contributions. This is very detrimental to building confidence or ease for Spanish learners at any level. The content of the podcast was mediocre and uninteresting, when we finally were able to decipher the rather mumbling delivery. We are quite disappointed with this podcast and would never listen to it voluntarily, rather than for a class assignment as this was. Some constructive advice: please speak more clearly, this is critical for Spanish learners.

ellenelledrawLove itThese guys are great!
-
Silvestre KwameBest Spanish podcastI love the topics and the pace of their conversation . Greatly improved my vocabulary, I highly recommend thanks so much guys you did a great job on this
-
WacoSarahGreat Intermediate Spanish learningI am in the process of improving my intermediate level Spanish and have searched for podcasts that are at my learning level and interesting to listen to. I have listened to four shows so far and am hooked! Both podcasters speak slowly and clearly and converse on various topics which helps to broaden my vocabulary! Thank you!! Keep it up!
-
bduluthExcellent for entry level SpanishThis podcast is engaging and fun to listen to. It’s the best entry level podcasts I’ve found for learning some VERY useful phrases. Thank you for putting this out there! Buen trabajo!
-
@annawestBest learning aid EVER!I began by listening to the podcasts and found them so engaging, helpful and interesting that I went to the Spanish Obsessed website and joined so that now I have access to amazingly useful podcast transcripts, grammar explanation, practice quizzes and more. Muchisimos gracias Rob y Lis, your podcast and website have taught me loads of practical Spanish and kept my interest piqued to keep learning more!
-
Babybunny929Like this podcastI agree that sometimes Liz is hard to understand, but Rob always clarifies. I highly recommend this podcast. I find it very helpful. Thank you for doing it!
-
Mklleung123Great content, hard to hearI love the content of this podcast and it is easy to follow along. It would be helpful if the females voice was clearer and she could annunciate a little more though.
-
Tweety482Females voiceThe females voice is very soft and not clear. You don’t hear everything she says. She also sounds like she doesn’t know what she is talking about... very hesitant at times.
-
flyingdicsExcellentFun, interesting, and effective, even in the free version. Good work!
-
Roccie1Awesome!Great information. Thank you!
-
roticanai2Love it!!So nice to finally find a podcast that goes beyond the classroom, and teach you in an informal way how to say things using everyday, “street” Spanish. Thank you!!! You guys are doing great - Keep up the wonderful work!
-
Z09889LO MEJOR!I’ve been trying out Spanish podcasts for over a year and nothing either helps with real-life situations, is too advanced or didn’t make very many episodes! Spanish Obsessed is the best, it helps me put everything into context and the dynamic between the two is realistic and effective. Mas por favor!
-
Leo willAudio not goodThe people are very charming and patient characters. The audio for the lady is not good at all and sounds like she's far from the mic. It's important to be able to hear it in order to learn it.
-
Pinktbird57Real Life Spanish!I love Liz and Rob. I use DuoLingo for some of my Spanish education; however, I find that I enjoy Spanish Obsessed so much more. They have real life conversations that I can use with my friends and during my travels - and they're funny, too. Thank you Liz and Rob!
-
rshendyvery helpfulI love these podcasts, have already finished the Beginner ones and cant wait to start the intermediate ones. They are fun to listen to while commuting. Rob and Lisa sound very friendly and at ease which makes it fun. Would just wish lisa would speak a bit louder cause in the subway it is sometimes hard to hear her. Looking forward to more and more of these podcasts.
-
jdelvillA great discovery!!!In the search for a podcast to help me continue my study of Spanish, I sampled quite a few, and decided to go with Spanish Obsessed. I'm SO glad I did. Liz and Rob cover many topics, they are always interesting and their explanations are just right. They are warm and natural together, they focus on Latin American Spanish, and their love for Spanish and for teaching comes through in spades. I highly recommend this series.
-
SnugwugsDa bestestI love listening to these guys. They're fun and more informal than not most of the time, and that helps me. The Spanish they teach is Latin American, which is awesome. There are many more Spanish speakers in Latin America than Spain. I definitely recommend them if you want to learn what Spanish actually sounds like.
-
carminRIncredibly Helpful! The "Beginner Spanish" level has been useful for someone such as myself who understands what is going on in most Spanish conversations, but has little clue as much of the grammatical structure of the Spanish language.
-
ex-cliente en medellinGreat CadenceI am an intermediate learner living in Colombia, but I really enjoyed starting with the beginner and brushing up. Liz’s accent is really helpful for concentrating on speaking in Colombia and it was nice to pick up some new vocabulary both specific to here as well as other countries. A few sound issues (quiet and a little sped up) but overall solid lessons.
-
LauraSF124Fabuloso podcast!!!Rob and Liz give you what you don’t always normally get with language training…perspective and culture. I’m using their awesome podcasts in combination with duolingo, reading spanish news, listening to spanish new podcasts and going to spanish speaking language meetups to improve my conversational spanish. Check out their website so you can read the transcripts while you’re listening to the podcasts!

GggfgfhgIn addition to Rosetta StoneI've really enjoyed the podcasts! They are fun, a little cheeky and most importantly informative. I've completed all 5 levels of Rosetta Stone Latin America Spanish. Although most of what I've heard on the "From Scratch" series was review, I've still picked up some great tips and new words. I've also completed the "Beginner's" podcasts and definitely picked up many new words as I enjoy listening to these guys banter back and forth in their fun way. I'm excited about hitting the "Intermediate" level as it looks to be all in Spanish. It will give me lots of experience listening and learning Spanish as I prepare for my trip to Chili this winter. Thanks guys!
-
WordrookieVery HelpfulLiz and Rob are a great team and their podcast has been very helpful for learning spanish. It's especially helpful to hear one native speaker and one who is not native. Also, I appreciate that each podcast is accompanied by a transcription.
-
timnesiacQue Bueno!I plan to visit Colombia in the coming months, so I was excited to find this podcast. My Spanish is weak, but I am a very auditory learner so this podcast has been a big help. It is also nice to learn about some of the customs and traditions of Colombia while learning the language.
-
Margarita008Love it!I love the Spanish Obsessed lessons. I find them very useful, interesting and fun. I just started to learn Spanish for fun and now I am looking forward to listen to more and more episodes any time I get a chance. Liz and Rob are amazing! Thank you so much!
-
CatherineF22Love it!!Spanish Obsessed is so much fun. Rob and Liz do a great job of organizing and structuring the lessons. They are both really fun to listen to. The best thing I have found about this podcast is that it offers BOTH an English speaker and a Spanish speaker. Liz has a great voice and I love to hear her speak. In the short time that I have been studying Spanish I have discovered that it is truly a beautiful language. I listen to another instructional Spanish podcast as well, but this is my absolute favorite. Additionally, they offer very helpful written material to supplement the podcasts. Rob and Liz, keep up the great work!
-
a trusted source of informationEl Mejor PodcastThere are plenty of good podcasts for learning Spanish but very few teach it for those who desire to learn the Latinoamerican version. As a US citizen I’m really happy to hear spanish which sounds more familiar to what I come into contact with than the spanish spoken in Spain. Liz and Rob are great hosts and while Liz is from Colombia they also make an effort to teach you about how spanish is spoken in Spain as well if you’re interested in the differences and things like the vosotros form. There are many accents in Meso, Central, and South America but the Colombian accent (or Liz’s at least) is very clear and easy to understand. And to Rob’s credit he’s pretty easy to understand as well (I’ve heard accents from different parts of the U.K. and Ireland that would probably warrant re-learning my own language).
-
CW 3234Great learning toolThis format of learning works very well for me. It's like listening to a very simple Spanish conversation and having it broken down piece by piece in a very straightforward and easy way. Rob and Liz have great chemistry.
-
EmmafeketeLove it, it feels like a conversation with a teacherI listen to it on the go whenever I have to be in my car or at the supermarket or other chores. The hosts are really good at making each lesson feel like a conversation by a very patient friend or teacher who goes over the new words with you. Plus: they're a cute couple, obviously very fond of each other. Let's not forget Rob's British accent... I love it. Gracias Liz y Rob
