Joe HerbersGood discussions of showsI always enjoy hearing their thoughtful views on various shows. They watch the episodes multiple times, and have a good discussion.
-
KBIxINFERNOWow…I used to listen to you guys religiously, but after listening to the boondock saints podcast I’m glad I moved on. You guys are so worried about being politically correct about 2024 standards that you can’t even review a movie anymore.

Pumpernickle PickleDefinitely A FavoriteThe focus on these prestigious films are always interesting and often entertaining. It's a celebration of human emotion and motivation in cinema. The questions I grapple with are some of the same questions the cohosts figure out and I'm working my way through all the past episodes. It's an excursion into character development, relationships, and storytelling. These guys dance to their own tunes and I'm a fan.

Valvane JimA-Ron a marvel of liberal stupidityWrong about every major event of the past 6 years and retains liberal stupid face with glasses

T Lianne ALove u guys!Enjoyed GOT, HOD, and Shogun. Please add Slow Horses (Apple) to viewing list. It is my newest addiction - very fast moving.
-
Robert Henry HoltzVery good show, less politics pleaseLove the takes and the friendship. Don’t let politics invade the show, some of us just want to be entertained. As far as typically boilerplate libs go, not too bad. Less cursing would be nice. Great shogun coverage.
-
jeanopomsGreat pod!!I love Bald Move. I try to listen to other prestige pods, but these guys are the best- it’s like talking about a show with insightful friends. Don’t get the haters in other reviews….just don’t listen, ok? My very fussy husband has come to love the pod too. Highly recommend (and have!)
-
Jamie DSKGood reviewsBut I don’t know why they wait 4-5 days after a show comes out to post a review. Doesn’t make sense to me.
-
WrigleyFieldMarshalGreat podcast when it stays focusedI really enjoy the discussions but sometimes they veer into bad (leftist) political opinion-sharing. It bogs down what would otherwise be a really strong show.

BH, CAThese guys are awesome. Don’t ever give up on them!Full disclosure, I tried listening years back for some show (don’t remember) and I couldn’t get thru it bcus ARon grossly mispronounced a word and I stopped. How small of me. I returned looking for old seasons of Fargo because I believe you were the only option? And then hundreds of eps of all the current shows later, I have found my go-to guys for all prestige tv. They have perfect chemistry. They have extended knowledge and do the research so we don’t have to. My only complaint is they are not doing enough shows! Loving Shogun right now but can I request you guys cover all the prestige shows?? Thank you for alllllll the content. I’ve gone back and watched some old series just so I can have you guys to listen to. And now IF and when ARon mispronounces a word? Charming! Love these guys. And they give back to the community!! And much applause for watching Spider-Man 24hrs.

AmballamSexist and incorrect detailsI’ve attempted to listen to a couple different True Detective Night Country episodes and half to give up both times. I’m listening to get more insight about the show but when they give incorrect details or demonstrate that they barely paid attention it’s useless (confusing key characters, misconstruing obvious details, etc.). The casual sexism is also difficult to listen to- in Ep 5 they are sensitive about Pete’s character being treated poorly because he is the most junior person investigating (like in any cop show) and calling it the female director’s blind spot… Maybe listen to this for entertainment but it’s a long podcast without a lot of ROI in my opinion.

JID1946TD4 is like FortitudeLove you guys, love your show. I’m so far on episode 3 of True Detective and it feels like “Fortitude “ with similar mood and similar storyline. Check it out. Researchers dig up a primordial ooze that drives people to murder. Any thought that the stab wounds could be the skull end of antlers? Similar shape to them. Finally, Jodie Fosters Liz isn’t tough, she’s going overboard with a “Jane Wayne” caricature, with all the bullying and F bombs. It’s just annoying. Keep up the great job. Dudley

JLReillyDriveDrive may not be a great movie but it deserves better than this rambling utter lack of insight. I had to laugh at their entitled sense of expectation. Really terrible indulgent hour.
-
OkiedokiedokeyBear 4-6 epOmg he’s saying “I did that” meaning he set the two of them up. You’re so dumb.
-
Fifth OrangeAmazing!I don’t remember how I came across their podcasts but I’m so glad I did.
-
LinnyCamCam10 stars! Can I given them 10 stars? I’ve been listening to Jim and A.Ron for years and often choose shows based solely on whether or not they cover it. They are so hilarious, intelligent and insightful. I laugh out loud at least once per episode and usually learn something cool and random as well. They are the best podcast out there!

Costco CitibankPassionate and knowledgeable. These guys are great to listen to and follow a lot of shows I enjoy. I think it’s great that they don’t always agree but are respectful to each other’s honest opinions. Some of the podcasts I have listened to sometimes are very awkward with their disagreements & I find it hard to continue follow. It’s been a great & a treat to have show runners like David S. Goyer come on and allow listeners to be involved with their questions.
-
Deadhead-Dan10Live their insights and tastes…My new fave hobby is watching something good then listening to the fellas discuss and analyze. I stumbled on them during House of Dragon and We Own this Town, then finally discovered their main shows a few weeks ago and I’m pumped. But wait…A.Ron Hubbard and Jim Jones…did I just join a tv cult?!?
-
Duckweilder“I don’t know anyone’s name in this movie.”Great podcast if you want to listen to people who have watched the movie once in their peripheral vision.
-
CenPenHawkFanMy favorite podcastBald Move Prestige and Bald Move Pulp are bringing thoughtful, sincere and funny discussions to movies old and new (and shows mostly new). A-Ron brings vulnerability and personal experience to his reviews in a way that adds and never subtracts. Jim is unflappable and takes a more “I’m not personally invested in any of this but I can tell good from bad and will call it as I see it.” This is most interesting when they talk about their own lives. For example, when they share about being raised as Jehovah’s Witnesses and the life-changing consequences of leaving, A-Ron can share for minutes at a time about how painful the whole experience was and how he’s still processing it; Jim will respond with “yeah, that sucked but I never believed any of it and it’s over so whatever.” They play off each other wonderfully and have helped to re-define masculinity for me at a time when the only options seem like either offended snowflake or Andrew Tate. I hope they’re able to keep this going as long as they’d like.

OldFashionedManhattanThis PodcastThis podcast isn’t great. Having the sense of sight doesn’t make you a movie reviewer and it’s never been more apparent in this podcast.
-
HEATH CENTAZZOLove these guys!A-Ron and Jim are rockin’ it as always. This is a great produced podcast and every week, they bring it. They never phone it in. Their pods are a lot of fun and let me tell you, they do their homework. They are prepared and it makes for an amazing podcast. This is a must if a YellowJackets fan and their other pods are equally as good. I highly recommend anything Bald Move.
-
KBMC2013All over the place…Once again I find myself asking if they even watch the things they’re recapping. When talking about Yellowjackets- do they seriously think Kevyn is adult Javi?!? Kevyn was Nat’s HS friend. We saw him in the past. Several times. Are they really confused as to how Lottie is a nickname for CharLOTTE? 🤦♀️ Aron drones on and on, constantly pronouncing words wrong, misnaming characters, or jumping back and forth between the character’s names and actor’s name. You need a roadmap to keep up with him. Meanwhile Jim responds to everything with “sure,” or basically *shrug*. I honestly don’t understand why he is even on the podcast at all. He doesn’t seem to care. Also, what’s up with all the weird pauses? It’s probably just where they make their edits, but it’s just seconds of dead air where it’s like the sound cut out or they’ve run out of things to say. This podcast is fine for background noise or to fall asleep to, mostly when they’re talking about something I’ve never watched or paid attention to. 🤷♀️

Kelly GyrlThe TerrorVery bad review of the Terror.
-
Matt GuntermanChicken soup for the GenX soul…I really like these peeps. They’ve got an impressive array of content, most of which overlaps with my interests. It’s unfortunate their buckeyes, but as the old saying goes, “nobody’s perfect.” I am a proud listener and financial backer.
-
Bkmike68HorribleSorry but I listened to a few of the episodes and it’s just 2 guys rambling on cursing and laughing with no real insight and did i not enjoy at all.
-
TextdghToo much cussing.I'm not a prude and cuss far too much myself, but when you are listening to a conversation, you don't want to hear every sentence with cuss words in it. There is no reason for all the language in the discussion. I was listening to Moneyball but now am just going to delete the rest of it because the cussing makes the whole thing pointless. Otherwise, the show is fine.
-
LightngsvtEntertainingI love Jim and A-Ron’s content, their views and opinions. I’ve been listening and a member for years now. I have watched some excellent shows just so I can listen to them podcast and most things they like are quality entertainment.
-
Jor3lBRBald Move is one of the best TV/Movie podcasts out there, love the banter!A true TV Guide of the digital age! 5 stars.
-
AmityVilleNYPoor prep on HighlanderListening to them talk about Highlander. Half way through and they are still calling The Kurgan The Kruger. Poor preparation.
-
Maddie TorskopetThe GOATThese two guys are a pure joy to listen to. Their rapport and sense of humor are really amazing.
-
KelliMNAbsolutely my favorite TV podcasters!I choose to watch what these guys watch because I like “hanging out” with them to hash it out. Keep doing what you do guys! Haters gonna hate.

samhyderulesBrown Muslim ladyTo the super woke self described brown Muslim lady, did they force you to undergo female circumcision? Are you allowed to drive?

Bosstown27Simply the bestBeen following since walking dead season 1, crossed over to GOT, and actually got to meet them at Con of thrones convention in Dallas Texas. They are even better in person . They did a re-enactment of the Red wedding and other. various game of thrones simulations . Had a few drinks with them at the bar and got to know them better. There are no better analysts of tv shows and movies. They hold no punches and tell it how it is and break down any show with pros and cons in an indescribable way. Their story is amazing , 2 guys from the Midwest who threw their hat in the podcast ring and now here they are . They did it the hard way and on their own with no help. I will support these two FOREVER. If your invested in a show and they cover it your in for a treat!! Superior knowledge of GRRM material and the GOT universe is where they really thrive. Any science fiction, popular shows like Leftover’s Westworld , Better call Saul , Breaking Bad , Star Trek, Star Wars and on… #BM4 Life !!!

ejb45Surface level film analysisI appreciate the wide variety of films that talk about on this show. However the depth they venture on their analysis is not interesting or entertaining. For example on the episode about the Coen brothers film Burn After Reading the host shows his lack of investment in the film and in making this podcast interesting to listen to. He says in the first three minutes that he didn’t really like the movie, so why should I continue to listen for an hour? Who wants to listen to someone talk about a movie they didn’t really care about for an hour? If you want to listen to a critique or roast that makes sense. So I prepared myself to hear a critique of the film. His first problem with the film is that the main charter goes to a dinner party the host wouldn’t want to be at. That is not film criticism worth a podcast. It’s an hour show, people may say individual things that are silly, but for that to be the opening line is nearly insulting to the listener. Future more the criticism is illogical. All types of films have settings you wouldn’t want to be at. Does the host hate saving private Ryan because it starts with an invasion he wouldn’t want to be at? I’ve probably spent more time than I should on this review but that complaint was so infuriating I couldn’t help myself. I would love to hear thoughtful analysis of these films.

AHHHHHHHHSHOWLEEStop itKilling Eve didn’t fall off. Do a Succession review instead!
-
EricbansJust don’t enjoy them anymoreI used to like to listen to everything they do and was a club member. Now I listen only when they talk about something I really care about but just find myself always thinking Aron thinks he’s much smarter about film than he actually is, and Jim just doesn’t have very good opinions.
-
Zach18593Entertainment commentary done wellStumbled across these guys during Game Of Thrones and have been hooked on their analysis of various shows since. Great guys that are relatable and affable. Really enjoy everything g they do and look forward to more of their work.
-
DrJimGMostly hit…sometimes missEnjoying your Walking Dead reviews because you are down to earth and honest in your reviews….highlighting the good and acknowledging the bad. Please stop with the nicknames though (“Boston Rob, etc.”). They are confusing and nowhere near as funny or on the nose as you think they are.
-
Bobval2016Great analysisI began listening to their “Game of Thrones” podcast & appreciated their analysis so much that I was very happy to have found this podcast. I’m finding films from years ago that I missed or warrant a second look.
-
MarcG0721Huh?What happened to you guys?? Critiquing 1985 films based on a 2021 worldview. you’re better than that. Don’t cave to wok nonsense and I’m a practical liberal.
-
Mxsandy12The Kings of Pop Culture Podcasts!Jim and A.Ron are fantastic, intelligent, fun and prolific! This is the fourth podcast of theirs I’m listening to and they all rock! So much information and passion for tv and film and my goodness the research and detail. These guys are a must listen!

B in ScarsdaleMaddening!ARon uses “like” like 30x a minute - impossible to tolerate when combined with his foul language. Too bad because Jim seems like an intelligent gent. I sampled a few reviews and their Capote podcast belongs in the Podcast Hall of Fame. ARon was unable to correctly pronounce Capote- he never realized that he alone said Capotay. He and Jim both misnamed the essential character Perry as Peter. And this was a movie they liked! They both display the simplistic views on sex and race that the education system has been pushing for decades. Sex remains a deep, often dark, mystery. Gone Girl goes places that threaten the rational liberal explanation of the chaotic swirl of the sexual domain. Oh well, like I really like tried to like get into like this mother.... podcast.

ResalovestimetravalfictionObscenitiesTo much unnecessary cussing. Just as jump scares are over used and no longer effective...so I are your numerous F bombs. Who would want to pay for even more by becoming a member?

Zultan1!3ExcellentVery entertaining and intelligent podcasters, it’s been great to see them grow
-
johnpaul335EnjoyableI am enjoying this pod, as I have most of Jim & A Ron’s work. Talented Mr Ripley episode was VERY similar to Bill Simmons’s Rewatchables take, but good for them to mention The Ringer as a source.
-
najiah👏👏👏As a brown muslim lady, I don't often relate to two white dudes but I always listen to A.Ron and Jim and feel respected/heard. I think those negative comments about their political views reflect the racist unchecked attitudes that have gone on for too long in this country. Honestly not sure why some are bothered - you can press forward on podcasts but perhaps now is the time to reflect on why you believe what you believe in 2020. Bald move's reviews and commentary are thoughtful, well said and well researched. I have been listening to them for the past 5+ yrs and will for as long as they are around. Good job dudes! You were on the right path before it was cool!
-
Mw999999999993Thoughtful, thoroughl coverageJim and A.Ron offer amazing coverage of all kinds of programming. They make some of these more opaque themes more obvious to the average viewer with their careful research and commentary. I'm always recommending them to friends who are interested in TV and movie podcasts. Thanks for all the work!
-
JoelpriezSmart, Funny, and Well SaidA.Ron, Jim, and Cecily some of the best podcasters out there. They talked about aspects of shows that other people don’t think about, they always have a funny, intelligent take to juxtapose a heavy topic, and most of all they have thought long and hard for many years to bring us the most refined Bald Move podcasting experience from a collection that spans far and wide. Thanks guys!
