A_A_RAMENN00DSMy Favorite PodcastI’ve been listening to podcasts since before most people even knew what a podcast was. True crime, comedy, music, you name it. My passion however, is music. Sam and Marcos share that same passion with me. There is just something about hitting play and listen to two dudes give alternative music the time and attention I have since I was 10 years old. They tackle the subjects that our partners or our family are sick of hearing us nerd out about on a day to day basis. But you won’t just get a music discussion out of this show. You will get comedy, random rabbit hole discussions, fan interaction, and you WILL discover your next favorite band. These are two examples of critics that can’t be bought. They are genuine, music loving honest normal people just like you and me. This is my first ever podcast review. 5 stars was a no brainer. I am so happy I discovered SOTS. -A_A_Ramen (SceneLabs)

CyanidesPlotBest Way to Discover MusicSo I listened to Lead singer Syndrome the New Noise for over a year now and then there was a split up of that duo and a huge void in my life ensued then a friend recommended this podcast and upset I wasn’t listening to this sooner, their breakdowns on new albums is amazing and after just a few episodes my library and playlist is blowing up!!!! Keep it up absolutely love it!!!!!

dyeddollRock Isn’t DeadAlthough mainstream radio, awards shows and pop culture in general makes it seem that there really isn’t a rock scene anymore… these guys are here to remind everyone that we (fans and bands alike) are still here. Hearing Sam and Marcos review the newest music released and interviewing those responsible for the music is so refreshing. As a metalcore fan, I very rarely hear any of the bands I listen to come on the radio… much less any new music they have released. Unless you follow the record labels or each band on their respective socials, it can be easy to miss when they put out new music. After listening to the newest episode, I found a band I’ve been sleeping on. If you are a fan of core, you have to check this podcast out!

AcamberoLike Alt press magazine but for your earsThis podcast is amazing! Sam and Marcos give the latest reviews, the latest releases and news. Definitely reminds me of what alt press used to accomplish.
-
KSEBLUESGarbageA couple of scene-stirs, still wearing cut off gloves, that think their edgy, cause they listen to warped tour bands. They think Howard is better for Killswitch, they love all the breakup songs he did with them. Alive or Just Breathing with Jesse, is too heavy for them. Bunch of dopes.

pres2448Over 1000 hours2021, so far I have listened to over 1000 hours of music, and shocker to me it has not been 100% metalcore! This is almost all thanks to Sam and Marcos, never did I think I'd like or even be excited to listen to emo-rap but call me Waldo and find me because I do now! Thanks for the incredible suggestions and takes on all the music. Two years into listening and I am still finding new bands I love, which is why I keep coming back every week!
-
nickbfromctBest scene podcastHilarious & informative. Sam and Marcos have introduced me to so many bands that I never would have tried to listen to otherwise. This is a quality podcast ❤️
-
EJaegerKeep up the good work!Great content. Enjoyed the chosen music to review and their opinions. One critique - the excessive use of the word “like” wore me out after awhile but if you can get past it they share quality reviews with great insight!

HellokansasFor fans of casual racismIf you’re into racism and neo-fascism, this is the podcast for you.

rose21:Best Podcast EverMy favorite podcast. Sam and Marcos are the best
-
Smp34Best PodcastI’ve never been into podcasts, but this is the only one I listen to now, and I can’t get enough of it! I listen to every episode and subscribe to the Patreon and suggest anyone remotely interested in the scene does the same. Sam and Marcos are awesome dudes with awesome content.

Dakota LatusekMETAL!Just started listening to this podcast last week never knowing there was a “metal” podcast and it’s super dope! These guys go in depth on all new music, singles, news, and upcoming jams! Would 100% recommend and share with others
-
TminusFiveActive with audienceThey’re very active on Twitter and engaging with listeners. Pretty rad they’re actual fans of the music/bands they talk about. If Spotify doesn’t suggest new stuff to me I come here to find that new new. 💯💪🏼
-
humanspork👌Marcos drives me absolutely insane but is also right at least 70% of the time. Great place to find out about the best new albums.

johny rotenBest Podcast In The SceneI don't generally enjoy listening to podcasts, but a friend recommended this to me. This is highly entertaining, and it keeps me up to date on the things I care about. Sam and Marcos are quite funny as well, making it all the more enjoyable.

DerekBjurmanBest Music Pod on the internetHands down... the best heavy music podcast on the internet. Do you want to stay up on the current happenings in the scene delivered by two dudes who are incredibly entertaining? Listen to this pod!

AnnullinsWanted to like....but nopeFirst few minutes of the first episode I listened to they did a bad South African accent of a what I think was supposed to be a black woman. Nope!!! I’m a fan of bands in “the scene” so was excited when I found this podcast but I’m no longer willing to excuse the causal hurtful crap that sidelines anyone who isn’t white.
-
michelleh1778Love itFound you guys on r/posthardcore. Our scene needs more podcasts like this! Thank you for making this.
-
breakdown boyeBest Core Podcast EverThis podcast is constantly introducing me to cool new bands and then keeping me up to date with all of them through album reviews, live performance reviews, news discussion, yadda yadda yadda - seriously, I've been looking for a podcast like this all my life. Covers all my favorite genres in pop-punk, deathcore, metalcore, indie, etc and Sam & Marcos the hosts have such great chemistry. Easiest 5 stars ever, keep it up boys
-
Anonymous-xxBest PodcastThese guys are the real deal, ever since I started listening to SOTS, I found a new job, my hair grew back, my wife took me back, and my I got rid of my cancer. Coincidence, I think not?
-
Brooke_DalyFunny, Honest, and AnecdotalEvery week, I look forward to an episode! Sam and Marcos are the right balance of anecdotal and relevant, providing snippets of their lives without making episodes all about them. Their passion and love for music is palpable, and it's refreshing to hear some off the cuff humor from podcasters when the landscape can be a bit too serious. These guys are also detail-oriented, providing in-depth reviews that truly paint a picture of the works they discuss. Listening to SOTS is fun, engaging, and informative - a must for music fans! Also, I can confirm these guys are just as funny and handsome in person. ;) <3
-
XxKitty_ScreamzxX🖤😘🔥It's lit fam! These guys are funny as hell, semi but also not at all relatable as hell, and they do all the work required for keeping up with the scene that you might've missed. Not sure if u wanna catch a tour comming up? Ask the brothers. Thinking of grabbing that album but not sure? Ask Sam and Marcos. Bored and have eyeliner tears falling in your diary? Bug Sam and Marcos. Possiby a serial killer using a southern accent to call in? Stalk Sam and Marcos. Theres no reason not to so subscribe now. Or else... UPDATE- Listener mail is now being censored and restricted even though thats what made this show in the first place.

jesus.wav🙂Great podcast for fans of alt musicThe hosts are funny (sometimes) and do a great job of keeping the listeners up to date with all the goings on in the alt music/warped tour-type scene. They're fairly knowledgable about most of the bands/artists/labels/major players in this sect of the music industry. They keep the show interesting with news, reviews, listener mail, and recently they've been doing some interviews with some band members. Honestly this is probably the best way to keep up to date if you're interested in these kinds of bands and artists. I highly recommend. P.S. I'm writing this review because they sounded desperate for reviews in a recent episode, and I didn't want marcos to kill himself or something P.P.S. Also let me use this review as a vehicle to shamelessly promote my IG @jesus.wav
-
BoulderizerFantastic for discovering new musicThese guys do a great job of reviewing pretty much every scene band you could want, and they are entertaining while doing so. Definitely recommended.
-
FlippenTaylorSimply the best podcast in the "Warped Tour Scene"Sam and Marcos of the State of the Scene provide terrific commentary of all the week's news in the alternative music/Warped Tour scene. Interviews, album reviews and other features are covered in detail. It is an excellent few hours of entertainment for any fan, hardcore or casual, of alternative rock music. There simply is not another podcast that compares, especially in this genre. For as many fans of the "Warped Tour Umbrella" as there are, and for how thoroughly entertaining and knowledgable the boys are, this is certainly a podcast that deserves more attention.
-
Lou FigThe only podcast you need for the scene.Great that these guys cover every band that I love. Easy way to stay up to date with a very specific genre of music. Will continue to listen.
-
IcynovaWhat I was looking forI wanted a podcast that talked about the bands I saw on Warped, and this delivered.

-
NicknickMynameisNickTreat YourselfThese guys are so hilarious I look forward to listening to a new episode once every two weeks. I think I'm more a fan of the metalcore/deathcore/hardcore side than they are but they're so passionate and I love their commentary listening to this will be a real treat.
-
JakeobiIf you like metal...Fun guys. A lot of enthusiasm and generally love their topic.
-
Colby // Abnormality PodcastThorough, Witty, and BrilliantThese guys are easily worth the two hours. Between the hilariously smart remarks and heavy sarcasm, you’ll find a thoughtful and insightful dialogue that might even be called unparalleled in our scene. These guys not only know bands, but labels, producers, and an endless list of other details that make for a conversation that’s not only intriguing, but also educational in regards to what’s going on in our scene. I find I have a new list of bands to check out at the end of every episode. If Warped Tour bands are your thing, hop in the car and put these guys on. You’ll thank me.
-
