Movies Made Me

26

Virtually every one of us has had a film experience that altered us in some way, that gave us a passion, a fear, a way of looking at the world. I task my guests with talking about the five movies that have made them, well, them! We'll explore how each movie changed them, while also looking at three other influences, from the broad spectrum of their experience, that made them who they are today.

    Great Concept
I’ve only listened to a few episodes so far but I love the concept of this show. Unfortunately, I am pretty uncultured when it comes to films *le gasp* so I know only about 15% of the movies people mention which can make it a tad difficult to feel involved in the deep discussion >.>. Despite that, it is still a super fun listen and I know have a few new movies on my to watch list.

Good guest, bad guest, great guest
Gave a few episodes of this show because I'm a big fan of Dragon Wagon Radio. 5 stars because when it's good its so good but it really depends on the guest. Some guests just arent interesting. But the host is sweet and very likable and it's overall a really good show.

Love the interviews from Artists Alley at Comic Con. Great descriptions and a way to learn more about the artists and their inspirations.

    Deep Thoughts on Movies
From the biggest movie geek to the novice that clung to their treasured VHS copy, Cheryl wants to know what movie had the biggest influence on you. She is a great host and this show is fantastic. Instead of giving a rehash of the plot or a review, she gives us a gift of discussion of how a movie shaped her guest's life. You come away thinking about your own choices and why. I'm so happy to have found this podcast.

    Listen. Enjoy.
I'm not saying this just cuz she interviewed me on the Comic-Con episode, but this is a great podcast. I can't help listening to other interview podcasts and wondering what movies influenced the guests. I need to know! Makes me a little sad that I wasn't raised in a movie lover family but also glad that I was never shown Jaws as a kid. (I saw it this year. Good movie)

Candid interviews not just about movies
This podcast takes the view that every movie is someone's favorite to a different level. It shows that any movie can change a persons life. There are other topics that show how the guests are made them as well. A great listen.

Amazing exploration of how movies shape our lives
Ever had a movie change your life? A movie that challenged your way of thinking? A movie that led your life down a path that you might never have expected? If so, this is the podcast for you. Rather than exploring the minutia of filmmaking (though there is a little of that) this podcast has guest list the movies that have had an impact in their lives. It is beautifully done and thoughtful in its execution of this idea. Definitely a must listen for movie lovers.

    Amazing Concept, Fantastic Podcast
Endlessly interesting, entertaining, and a joy hearing guests discuss the films (and three other things) that had an impact on their lives, professionally and/or personally. Always a must listen on my podcast rotation when a new episode becomes available.

    Required Listening….
This pod cast should be required listening for every studio marketing exec. Real stories about what movies mean to regular people and the powerful significance of films in society through very personal lenses. Super-accessible, super-relatable, super-smart.

Not a movie review and not your average podcast- Check it out!
Not a movie review, but interesting and inspiring stories from famous and not so famous folks about how movies influenced them. Not your typical podcast. If you like movies and are interested in how they effect people more than just a dry review then this podcast is well worth a listen. I am hooked and a regular subscriber.

    Great concept!
It's an interesting angle and is very well executed. A loose but thoughtful interview style allows guests to open up and have actual meaningful conversations. A breath of fresh air. I look forward to more episodes!
