Before taking ownership of my practice after being an associate, I listened to as many dental related podcasts as possible to catch up on information that we never learned in dental school. Paul does an amazing job to give real world advice for the dentist that wants to take his or her practice to the next level. Whether your a seasoned dentist or in dental school, his podcasts are extremely helpful and I can always find at least one pearl to take with me. He’s been there and done it, that’s the type of person that has the chops to coach and give advice!!

I’ve been listening to Dr Etchison for years. His episodes are consistently engaging and full of actionable insight. It’s clear he takes pride in his care of team and patients, exceptional patient experience, and that his practice is profitable and grows quickly. He is articulate and candid about his own journey to help others reach their goals. His interview format with other doctors also stands out as he has structured questions and prompts that give insight into how successful doctors approach problems and thought processes. Easy to listen to. All encompassing in that he talks about the clinical stuff with the CSI crew, what’s up Dr Briskie and Dr Dhoon, culture, leadership, business and everything I imagine you’d need to know to run a successful dental practice. I say “imagine you’d need to know” cause I just graduated a few yrs ago and am still an associate and haven’t take the practice ownership leap, but listening here confirms that I still want to, and that it’s not gonna be easy when I do, but it’s gonna be great! Loved Paul’s second book

I’ve heard Dr. Etchinson on several other podcasts and was pleased to find out he actually had his own podcast. His genuine and humorous delivery make you realize that your successes and failures as a practice owner are no different than someone who runs a very successful practice like him. As someone who has been a dentist for 11 years, but just recently acquired his own practice, it’s been very helpful to hear the advice and experiences of Dr. Paul. Keep up the great content!

Paul and Justin performed as per usual again! Thanks gentlemen for diving into one of the most consistent and formidable methods of practice optimization in the playbook. One additional thought I would add, from my experience, is the concept of applying a merchandising and supply chain perspective to the service. Particularly as more practices seek to differentiate themselves and separate from the dependency on dental plans. We have intentionally built capacity into the daily schedules in order to accommodate the added productivity but also deliver it on point with our quality of service mantra. One of the primary motives patients indicate when switching dental providers is disregard of maintaining timeliness. This has resulted in a more productive result and much happier team and clientele. I believe it is very safe to assume same day demand is the norm not the exception.

Excellent podcast. I am not a dentist but I am married to one and I am very familiar with the office life and I really enjoy this podcast. Tons of useful information.

I have been listening to Paul for couple of years now. I listen to them in dental school and I listen to them as a Dentist. There’s a lot to learn here. Paul really has a great voice that helps to listen to the whole episode. As a young dentist it’s great to have a younger veteran who can give you advice. I highly recommend this podcast. I first listened to Paul in Shared Practice episode. Something about him just clicked and I just wanted to listen more about this guy. I enjoy listening to his stories and insights about life in general. Something about his tone of voice or attitude towards life in general is very much likable. Maybe coming from a rock band background. I also appreciate that he is not so much of ‘give 110% every day into your work for maximum achievement’ guy. He rather promotes loving your life and valuing relationships around you, then with intentionality and knowledge practice success follows. I would love to learn his philosophy and strategy to replicate start-up success he had with zero staff turnover. I listened to all the episodes (that are available) and feel like I know him personally lol. Thinking about shooting him an email just to say hi and possibly learn more about his coaching program.

Any time I have a car ride, I always check his podcast to see if there is a new episode. He is so much fun to listen to and super knowledgeable. I also recommend his book! Dr. Etchison’s podcasts are great and bring real life issues we as dentist face on a daily basis. You can definitely hear the passion he has in trying to help others in the profession. I got a chance to meet him in person and at the end of the day he’s just a nice humble guy trying to figure it out like the rest of us!

Most dental podcasts I’ve found are either entirely clinical or entirely business. Paul has successfully blended the two, along with an emphasis on case acceptance. I have listened to all of the most popular dental podcasts and this is the best one.

First saw Paul on a nifty thrifty Facebook live and a friend then told me about the podcast. I enjoyed shared practices podcast along with mark Costes found myself zoning out a lot or skipping past fluff. Then I found Etch’s podcast and started from the beginning. Every episode is so good, full of great info, very captivating interviews...I love it! Thx for everything you do! I’m just hoping he eventually tells us the name of the screamo band he was in
