BallisticSpearDanielle Moodieâs Yelling and Constant ProfanityâŠâŠshould be the title of this show now. Used to be a subscriber and regular listener of The New Abnormal before Danielle Moodie joined the show, but she has absolutely ruined the show with her inability to express herself without yelling and being completely unnecessarily profane. This is a shame too, because I 100% agree with the substance TNA team throws out there, but Danielle Moodieâs inability to express a cogent thought without dropping F bombs and other profanity has taken this show off my âFollowâ list. I only ever check back to see if thereâs a show where she is on break or not leading a segment (or to see if sheâs finally been dumped from the showâUPDATE; is Danielle Moodie still a host? Yes, she is, so still not subscribing or listeningâŠ)

Nav SaintGreat show!So happy I found this podcast. The hosts are authentic & hilarious and their interviews are always informative.

BGDemHappy Govt is still OpenI am glad that Sen Schumer did not shut down the government. Trump and musk want a government shut down. Once it is down, they will furlough all the workers, shut down courts, and decimate the government. Billionaires do not need a federal government. They would destroy it while it is down. The Democrats had to decide between two terrible choices. The choice to shut the government down had such horrific consequences that it could not be risked. We have had shut downs in the past, but not while Trump and musk were in control. That is the problem. Trump and musk want the federal courts to be down. They want to lay off all the federal workers. They have no motivation to ever bring the government back up. We Need the courts open every day to fight back on Trump and musk.

Windy13007Democrats Softening: Iâm Fine, You Fine?âSome democracy advocates worry that too many of our civic institutions are softening their postures toward Trump to avoid getting on his bad side, pointing to what the historian Timothy Snyder calls "anticipatory obedience:" "Most of the power of authoritarianism is freely given. In times like these, individuals think ahead about what a more repressive government will want, and then offer themselves without being asked. A citizen who adapts in this way is teaching power what it can do.â -Timothy Snyder, Anticipatory Obedience

TyfgnmFaux -tainment?SUPER - Libs canât Zoom a statement on Carterâs passing? More noise grift with no good outcome Great structure, content and guests are typically interesting. I donât miss interrupting Rick. I am as insulted as many of my friends that thereâs a subscription option for such a poorly sound produced product. That I donât subscribe to Carvilleâs folksy, out-of-date ideas is secondary to expecting me to listen to him shout his opinions through waxed paper stretched across a tin can. The Jeet needs to slow down to speak. All fixable If your guests cannot provide semi-professional audio for their segment - why should I listen (or pay a premium to be disappointed sooner)? Andy needs to drop the âyou knowâ from his lingo. If I know, no need to have you yammer it to me. Great content. Some conversations go too long but super disappointing that the audio is worse than what many public junior high schools post daily. Weâre behind you Molly

GrandmaKaycExcellentExcellent podcast.

HatedIt1989Thatâs a nope from me.I listen to podcasts on the regular. I chose the episode because it aligns with my own viewpoint. I turned it off after the first âsponser commercials.â No one- and I do mean no one - should be forced to sit through commercials that are longer than the commentary on the podcast itself. This format wastes peopleâs time. Do you not value me as a listener enough to break up your âcommercialsâ, which are grating and last forever? Is corporate sponsorship more important than the people who spend time and energy taking in your words? Sounds familiar. Sounds a lot like the government you spend the 5 minutes between commercials hammering into oblivion, and this is coming from a staunch never-MAGA. Yâall need to look at yourselves and the value you place on your own listeners. I hope all of those âwittyâ đ sponsor ads are worth the loss of listeners who donât have the time, energy, or patience to spend an hour with a glorified sales pitch and hypocritical hosts.

Mighty UnicornLoud ads. Ads. Ads. Ads. More ads.Great crew, great topics, great content. However, the episode Iâm trying out is 35 minutes long. It started with 3 minutes of commercials with the volume jacked up quite a bit. Then I listened to 8 or so minutes of content. Then came another 6 solid minutes of commercials with the volume jacked up. I know it was 6 minutes because I had to hit the forward button 12 times to get back to the content. Wash, rinse, repeat. Over 50% ads? No thanks. Cranking up the volume on the ads is just extra-annoying and kind of insulting.

J.U.I.C.E.Racist podVery racist podcast. Ignorant and racist. This pod will be cancelled by the next election. Going the way of msnbc

tanya1992yis the show back??Wow thanks

K.GallantF all those guysInteresting perspectives and stories/interviews I donât get anywhere else. Enough humor to keep it entertaining and enough anger at the hypocrisy, that I can tell myself the rage does not make me abnormal

ElizaCostIt came down to table economics hereAfter reflecting more on the tragedy that has happened, and listening to many opinions, it seems to me that simple kitchen table economics turned the tide in this mostly red, working class neighborhood where whites, Blacks, Asians and Latinos live together. There are 2 magas for sure who are pretty hateful folks and I have no idea of their motivation. But for the others, food and living expenses were the top of the list and the illegal immigrants coming over the border was second. Harris/Walz ran a pretty incredible campaign overall with the exception of not letting Muslims have a voice about the Middle East and US/Jewish crimes against humanity. Elizabeth from NC

WyattMuteGreat showBut the ads. I know they are necessary and I can subscribe to something to avoid them (hence no impact on my rating) but they are such looong ad breaks. I just skipped forward 7.5 minutes to get to the interview. That seems a little excessive for one ad break, no? Maybe it was a mistake but it feels like they get longer and longer. Maybe break them up a little more? Love the show! Thank you.

v8bluesNowThanks for the bonus show! Tucker Carlson just made my skin crawl. Someone should check on his children, for real. That was so gross. /It was good to hear on todayâs show what needs to be said; âthere is not going to be an easier time than nowâ to tamp down this wave of cheating and authoritarianism. Every day Iâve been waiting for a sign that the democrats and sane republicans still in power realize this is not going to just go away or get easier. You donât politely ask an authoritarian to stop stepping on your shoe. Unless you eventually want to go to war with them to get your foot back, donât let them step on your shoe.

DannoGmMust hearThis is one of the most informative and engaging podcasts I have listened to.

FRGFBSTMZ of politicsThis used to be a great podcast. It is now a cesspool of garbage, like the site that produces it. It makes me wish I were deaf.
-
Jjcull11EhhhhâŠEdit: New permanent co-host Danielle Moody is AWEFUL! The show is just her screaming nonstop. The Podcast is officially garbage now. Not the best of whatâs available. Interviews like the one with Michael Cohen, are nothing but softball questions. They let them drive the narrative without ever asking the serious questions, we all want answers to. Also the loss of Molly Jong-Fast has definitely made the pod more monotone/less engaging. Not top of my list for pods. Need a new entertaining co-host(guest co-hosts havenât been great)

WallyPieMissing Fever DreamsMedia literacy and respect for their audience has gone out the window. Lost me 8/12/24 with the âJoshâ interview. The intro was straight up a recap of Last Word w/ Lawrence OâDonnell and then the interview with âJoshâ, no last name, was ableist and offensive. âBiden literally canât articulateâŠâ with zero push back from Andy. âJoshâ with no last name is not a âpublisher of a newsletterâ, thatâs white washing and spit shinning a Twitter person; heâs just an internet troll with a website aka blog who blends up Politico articles and sprinkles terminally online black pilled hate on top. Calling his speculation a âpredictionâ, or saying he âcorrectly predictedâ something many people had also assumed/ speculated about is obtuse and lazy. Plain and simple, lazy. And placing him in front of Shannon Watts, Moms Demand Action activist, author, and person with a last name? Boy, bye. If you want to regurgitate other media outlets, cite them. And make sure they are reputable because theyâre being amplified. Make it a recap of last nightâs televised news, sure, just say so. Find and identify information, acknowledge the sources, and boom youâve got 3 of 5 pillars of media/information literacy. If itâs a person concealing their identity with a blog, call it a blog; call it âopinionâ because thatâs what it is and thatâs what journalists would call it. And maybe inquire as to why they are concealing their identity, ask where they are getting their information to form these âpredictionsâ. Do a journalism and turn the rock over. Thatâs pillars 4 and 5, evaluate and apply. The audio quality is inconsistent and often unprofessional. It should have gotten better by now. Andy does not âsit comfortably on the leftâ, heâs just like Tim Miller who couldnât cut it in conservative media so now holds space LARPing as a moderate and hindering actual progressive discourse. And now heâs the voice advertising menopause hormone therapy? All of that is a failure on the part of production. Boy, bye. I miss the information and media literacy, and respect for the listening audience, of Kelly Weill and Will Sommer. They told us to listen to this, but Daily Beast has lost me and clearly lost a bit of themselves with this podcast.

Fly_Willisđ€ŹToo much gratuitous profanity. Otherwise, good show! Update 8-13-24 somebody finally got to Moody-Mills about her constant use of profanity! Itâs a MUCH better show! THANK GOD!!!!!

MFcreepNo Tim MillerIf I want his opinion Iâll listen to his podcast or watch deadline White House. NO Tim Miller.
-
DrDK2Love the Andy + Danielle ComboThis is always a great pod with great interviews. Except today: Iâm tired of listening to Republicans like Tim Miller being interviewed about what Democrats should do. Democrats unified behind Kamala Harris and that has really energized our movement. So Miller needs to shut up his whining that he didnât get the bloodlust he wanted to see among Democrats. âThe Prosecutor vs the Felon!â
-
MissGinger13Stop itI anxiously await every new episode⊠until you ask Tim Miller to be a guest. He might call himself an ally but Miller and his cohorts are no allies of democrats. They are opportunists who only seek to get attention both positive and negative. They have no place in their own party so they retooled themselves as pundits for centrist democrats but their actions are a detriment to our cause on the left.

Done with the constant f-bombsCanât take constant f-bombs.I used to be a devoted listener.
-
kathy_ghDanielle is too uninformedI canât bate this pod anymore. Danielle is such a no nothing. She just screams n curses her dumb opinions. I canât handle her.
-
GaMtnGrlThe Most Extreme Presidential TicketThe one star is for Jared Huffman. Youâre better than giving him a voice. The rest of the episode gets 5 stars.
-
GimpyMcSquibbleGoing to need a break from this oneI thought maybe there was something wrong with me, or I'm alone in thinking "Do I want to be yelled at, and cursed at, about the things that I already know are bad? About the things that already give me anxiety?" And coming here to see the other reviews was validating. I think Danielle can make good points and have interesting commentary, but she too often goes into a dark, angry, profanity filled place. And it just gets exhausting. Please, I'm hoping my review and others help her lighten up? I don't know. But done listening for now.
-
Platypus and pancakeBetter NowWas five stars, but the argument to gaslight and stay with Biden has lost me. Goodbye.

Pattimom74Always makes me laughI admit I listen to too many political podcasts that are left leaning but only this one makes me laugh at least once during the show. Some of the topics and stories Iâve heard before but I always tune in for that guaranteed laugh. Didnât listen when Rick Wilson was co-host and wish I had. He is hands down my favorite pundit. No reflection on Andy Levy though. He is insightful and very funny too. Love the show and its slanted humor. ADDENDUM: the above was written when Molly was hosting with Andy. My rating has been reduced by half since Danielle joined the show. I know Iâm not the only one that wishes she would not scream while talking, say âlikeâ in almost every sentence and use the F word constantly. I have started fast forwarding through her interview segments. And I am considering only listening to the bonus episodes because she seems to keep a cooler head on those. For what itâs worth, find a better co-host for Andy, to whom I love listening.
-
Level Headed LearnerBring Back the Old HostsDanielle Moodie is the worst! I cannot believe she was an educator. Every episode she screeches the same rehearsed lines. I have to skip her interviews because she is so bad. The shame is that some of the guests are really interesting and provide great information.
