Perfect balance of info and entertainment
If you’re searching for podcasts about cameras there’s a decent likelihood that you’re a bit of a nerd. Assuming that you’re reading this review, then you are a nerd, and you’ll most likely enjoy this podcast for the information AND entertainment value. If you’re looking for straight entertainment you might want to look elsewhere. One thing that separates this podcast from other very lovely camera-related podcasts is that Jeff and Gabe, as writers, understand how to tell a story and how to keep things brief. Which is not to say that sometimes Jeff won’t go on an overly-long diatribe about the correct pronunciation of a word or the rarity of a particular Alpa, but all in all they keep it short and don’t extrapolate unneccessarily. But even so, they’re delightful to listen to and very fun people. Maybe it’s just my luck, but often when I run into camera nerds they tend to be elitist or put-off if you try and chat with them. Jeff and Gabe are none of the sort; I get the impression they’d be happy to chat with you if you bumped into them on the street. (You’d likely have to be in Milan to bump into Jeff or at fashion week to bump into Gabe, but I digress.) Actually, that makes me think of a word of caution; your podcast hosts are not blue-collar “Joes,” as such do not fall for their schemes to get you to buy every camera they do; you’ll be in the poorhouse if you do. But if you do, at least you’ll have good cameras to document your stay.

Just two smug white dudes talking
Started out great then got worse and worse. It used to be so informative. It used to be witty. It used to talk about the real joys of film. It used to do distinctive gear reviews (they often took credit for the IDOC effect on eBay). It used to be more than vapid glad handing. Nothing to hear here.

Refreshing point of view in photography
This is my goto morning walk podcast, learning more about photography and interesting discussion on a variety of subject matters.

The Car Talk of film photography
Very fun, engaging conversationalists talking about what could otherwise be a very dry subject. And it’s like therapy, listening to people who share my obsession with classic cameras.

    Makes the Voices Go Away
I love this podcast! Jeff and Gabe are funny, exciting, and entertaining as they discuss cameras and photography. Do you want to know the difference between drill drivers and hammer drills? Well, this is the wrong podcast. Want to learn about classic film cameras? Then these two Hollywood insiders and icons are for you. 6 out of 5 stars.

Would listen to the hosts talk about anything
While I love cameras and photography I would listen to Gabe and Jeff talk about almost anything. They have a great rapport and don’t take themselves too seriously. I just wish they would do more than every three weeks.

Listen with a pencil and paper
Jeff and Gabe are a wonderful duo. Their style and banter makes this show entertaining while offering tidbits and insights on cameras and the loves and quirks of camera users. Every time I listen to a show I have notes or want to make comments, which causes me to go back and listen again to episodes.

With an accent on film cameras
Only found this show recently at the recommendation of some other, admirable but stodgy, photography podcasts hosts. This prodigious show is a an amazing mailbag overflowing with information, anecdotes, and real life camera addiction. Focusing in on each episode is like taking a tasty bite of the most delicious brisket sure to give you unavoidable but satisfying G.A.S. Don’t know if I Dream Of Cameras will ever be a hit at NY Fashion Week or make it as a TV sitcom, but it is sure to fit the bill for at least one of your many camera bags. Gotta say, I really Leica the show.

    So informative and entertaining
I love listening to this show. I’m a photog novice and some of it I don’t totally understand (yet!) but they are so funny and smart and entertaining - it’s always a great listen.

I like this show like Gabe likes Rolleis!
Jeff and Gabe are natural podcasters. If vintage cameras of any kind are your thing you have to listen. The hosts know a lot about film gear but they don’t lord their knowledge like the Simpsons Comic Book Guy. The podcast is very friendly and approachable. It’s the kind of show you can enter anytime. Don’t feel like you have to start at the beginning, but you will want to go back and listen to them all eventually.

    Fun podcast!
Why do I enjoy this? Occasionally I’ll learn something new, but not that often. So it’s not for it’s informational component. I guess i just really enjoy having a para-social friendship with two witty and enthusiastic fellow photographers. It’s fun.

    Uplifting
The guys really keep the fire burning for classic film cameras while maintaining a real world, upbeat show. My absolute favorite.

    All the Praise!!!
This podcast is the highlight of my day when it comes out. Hearing from a pair of guys who are enthusiastic, excited, and friendly about film photography is a bright place in a world full of grumpy old men.

    Simply the best
Entertaining, informative, and so well produced. Gabe and Jeff enthusiastically share their passion for cameras of all kinds and the pursuit of photography. This is the best podcast about cameras and imaging, hands down.

    Fresh and Energetic
In a world where dull and boring photography podcasts dominate the airwaves, where men and women listen at midnight to induce somnolence, where creativity is crushed and flattened by the drone of monotonous babble - two courageous men have risen to elevate discourse, amplify the fun factor and deliver humanity into a brighter future where all sentient beings, regardless of camera brand or film choice, can delight in the eloquence of their oration and proudly proclaim themselves to be… film afficionados.
