RetroaliasThe Ultimate Gaming Podcast! This is a great retro gaming podcast by a super passionate host! In fact, his stories are so awesome that even non gamers would enjoy this show. I also really enjoy the accessibility of the show along with the frequent community submissions. It sets a high water mark for podcasts and I look forward to many more great episodes down the road!

YourPalPuddyBest 2600 Podcast Out ThereFerg puts a lot into the production of these episodes. Great content and sound effects are on point! I thought I knew about most VCS carts, but I’ve learned there were so many I’d never heard of. Just wish he’d do a few more each month.

MYSHIFTKEYISBROKEBiplane PurgatoryLove that my Garry Kitchen Batteries Not Included interviews on Amazon worked their way into your Keystone Kapers ep. Just found your pod and am voraciously consuming one ep after another, like the good little nostalgia addict that I am. Great work here, hoping to stumble across a Chopper Command ep before I reach the bottom of the well. - Josh, Imperial Scrolls of Honor Podcast dude

Aimee's peopleFirst loveLove what you’re doing Ferg! The Atari was my first love and definitely holds many of my fondest childhood memories. I’m 48 and new to podcast it takes me a while to catch up with the times and your show is bringing back a lot of fun remember when’s. I have my 2600 still from my childhood and play it from time to time with my boys who are both teens. I am working my way through the past episodes and am up to date with your new ones. I hope to here you cover a game titled Starmaster. Maybe you already have and I’ll get to it. It’s in my collection and I don’t remember it and am having trouble navigating through it. Anyway keep on making episodes and I’ll keep on listening. Cary Strong from Lawrence Kansas

8bitsteveAmazing!!!Ferg is an amazing host. this podcast has renewed my love for the Atari 2600/VCS. A great show that has birthed an audio community for the VCS. I'm impressed by every episode.

GreatSaiyaman81Great Podcast about the Atari 2600!Growing up with the NES I feel I missed out. Thanks to this podcast I'm come to discover the fun of the Atari 2600. Ferg is a great host talking about each game and reading feedback from his fans. If you like Atari or retro games in general check out this show! Thanks Ferg!

Used to be a NASCAR fanaticMake Atari Great Again!!This podcast is great! Very fun informative, entertainment my, and fun to listen to.
-
PodHedGreat but repetitiveFerg’s portion is fun and informative. But I really don’t understand the need for all those audio submissions. Take the recent Jungle Hunt episode for example, there are at least 3 audio submissions from others who cover the same factoids over and over again. Why not have them as guests and discuss the game rather than repeat the same things over and over? After the 3rd repetitive audio submission, I just tuned out and deleted the episode.
-
odysseyzineI love a host who cracks himself/herself up.My favorite thing about this podcast is that the host frequently breaks into laughter. It's infectious and adds to the fun. As for the content itself, there is a lot of interesting information and insight for any fan of Atari and the 2600.

AR121Deserves a 6 out of 5A don’t miss show. The host and audience are some of the best in the retro gaming stable of shows. The host of the show, Ferg, is fantastic. I really enjoy the shows when he goes off-topic and delves into some of his other interests (Cookies, the Beatles, for example). Don’t miss any of the holiday specials. Especially the Christmas episodes. Great family listening.
-
Rocker_67Very InformativeI have been binge listening to this podcast. I love all the information and research Ferg puts into each episode. Not only does he give you his impressions of the game he is reviewing, but he also lets the listeners give their opinions, good or bad. Very even handed with this format and always has me yearning for more. If you had any love for the old Atari 2600, or just want to learn what it was all about, then this is the podcast for you.

SoundTrack78Thorough and Thoroughly Enjoyable Atari 2600 Game ReviewsFerg is a thorough researcher and provides listeners with an exhaustive education on every Atari 2600 VCS game he reviews. From detailed history of the programmers and companies that produced the games to the most intricate variations of box art and instruction manuals, Ferg shares every bit (pun intended) of information about every game he reviews and considers nothing trivial. He also shares his own personal experiences with each game and, thus, shares a bit (last time, I promise) of himself in each episode. And, what's more, he also gives great place to listener feedback for listeners to share their memories (fond or no) of these games and the system that have made an impression on so many of us. This is a MUST podcast for anyone whose life has had the good fortune of including an Atari 2600 somewhere in it!

Jacob GrizlyFergaliciousGreat podcast. Somehow pulls off the one-man format spectacularly. A true gem.
-
RJNC00A+Great podcast, so glad I found this one.
-
Atari BytesThis Guy Knows and LOVES These GamesListening to his show reminded me that not only did I have fond memories of playing Atari as a kid, but that I really missed it. I started my own podcast because I wanted to share my affection for these games the way Ferg shares his. (Plus it's a great excuse to play these games) The context he provides for the production of th egames is invaluable too.
-
oldadolescentI'd give it six stars (out of six) if that was possible!I owned an Atari Video Computer System back in the day and this podcast really brings back memories of me as a child back in the day and the fun I had playing games back in the day with my friends and family on holidays, birthdays, and family gatherings back in the day and how much better the games were back in the day despite the relative simplicity of the sound and graphics of the games back in the day. Ferg seems to be a nice fellow and I would have liked to have him as a friend back in the day.
-
OndistarWhat's better than the 2600? Nothing!Perfect podcast for the perfect system! Remember when awesome game systems and awesome video games were made in the USA? Oh yeah, and the podcast is excellent!
-
BababoeylucyGreat! If you ever had an Atari 2600, this is for you. Ferg has a true passion for the system, and has been collecting for years. He is the Encyclopedia of Atari. The man has 100 podcasts under his belt, and it easy to see why. Highly recommended!
-
BackInTheDayManLove This PodcastYou'll thoroughly enjoy Ferg's weekly trek through the entire Atari 2600 catalog, whether you're a retro gamer or not.
-
lurkerMGreat podcast about a classic systemFerg does a great job bringing together stories about not only the games, but the creative people behind them.
-
EdladdinGreat for Atari nostalgics, collectors, and retro gamers! This is a GREAT podcast for fans of the Atari VCS! My love for Atari dates back to the late 70's, consummated at last when I finally got my own light sixer in 1981 at age 11. In those days, if I was not playing the Atari I was poring over the catalogs or Electronic Games magazine. Decades later its fantastic to hear all the backstories about all the games and their creators, both for the ones I loved and the ones I never got to try. In addition to my personal collection from "blackened the tray", I now own a bunch more 2600 carts as a direct result of reports delivered on this show. (The Ferg Effect is real!) Love the show!
-
VicSage2005An excellent podcast! If you find yourself one of the legions of Atari 2600 fans, then you need go no further than Ferg's excellent podcast. Informative and funny, he does his homework and makes sure that by the time you are finished with an episode you have taken away a bit of useful knowledge about that game.

Nox ManingAtari to perfection set to 350!The best Podcast & Host hands Down!
-
badcity77Fantastic!I only subscribe to two podcasts; This American Life and the Atari 2600 Game by Game Podcast. Although Ferg is no Ira Glass, his attention to detail and clear passion for his hobby keep me just as interested as Mr. Glass and his team of seasoned producers. Ferg provides a wealth of information on each game featured, from the minutiae of label variations to anecdotes from the programmers and game artists themselves. My favorite part of the show is when he shares his own personal take on the games and those of his listeners. This show gets better all of the time and it's clear that Ferg has grown comfortable at the mic. A must listen for classic gamers!
-
El3dguyCOOOOOOOLL!!!This podcast is GREAT! I just started but I am to episode 6. I have my list of games that I want to re-visit and some that I need to get. I am really enjoying it.

StormSurgeNostalgia OverloadThis a great podcast that each week, takes the listener on a wonderful trip down memory lane. Some background info on the game, info on the developers, stories from listeners & authentic sound effects. This is a must-listen for anyone who grew up playing Atari 2600 games.
-
JayD32Great showI love when the host cracks himself up when reading emails and Facebook comments. Listening to this makes me remember where my head was at back in the late 70's early 80's. I would like to hear more opinion about the game play (is it good or bad in your opinion). Thanks and keep up the great work.
-
mkelso27On the Money! This guy never misses an episode. He's always there for you. Haha. This is a great little podcast. It's quick and very informative. I'd easily recommend putting it in your rotation.
-
Mystery BaseNostalgic Love LettersFerg tears it up with qualitative descriptions of the gameplay, physical characteristics of the media and brings some neat insights and historical perspective. The format is quick enough and focused. Keep bringing it, buddy.
-
mustbeathursdayGreat Gaming MemoriesGreat review of the genesis of gaming. It's great hearing about the games I never got to play but always wondered about. Each show paints a great picture that really gives a feel of what the game is like.
-
MAC-42A great way to explore the 2600’s libraryFerg does a great job bringing information and stories about each game in the Atari 2600’s vast library in a fun and approachable style. With so many games out there, it’s easy to overlook stuff that could qualify as hidden gems. It’s great that someone has decided to take up the banner and catalog this library, making its mysteries known to us and giving us some new information about the games we all grew up with. Also includes great stories from listeners. Definitely worth your time!
-
MattKDaleyA terrific retrogaming listenI've just started listening to retrogaming podcasts in the last few weeks, and I'm so glad I found this one. Ferg goes the extra mile to bring every detail about each game covered, and even tracks down the game designers when possible. Nostalgic stories about these old games is mixed in with all the background info you could ever want. I thought I knew a lot about Atari, but I learn something new each episode. I look forward to this show every week!
-
Rob O'HaraGreat Host, Great Show!Ferg takes listeners on a romp, game by game and show by show, through the Atari 2600 game library. Whether you've played the games or not, each show is informative and worth listening to. After Ferg shares the details of each game, listeners contribute their memories (both through text and audio submissions) of the games. The end all of Atari 2600 podcasts and a fun journey for listeners to go through.
-
OneksquaredGreat,Well Researched, and InsightfulThis is a really great show for retro-gamers looking to get into (or back into) the world of the Atari 2600. The host Ferg is new to podcasting and after some initial nervousness the first few episodes is now a confident and excellent host. The length with which he goes through to research these games and how they function is fantastic, and really well done, He's even tried to locate game designers, and in some instances has gotten their input as to game design. His game by game breakdown is also really great presenting them more as walkthroughs then as reviews. Overall if your into retro gaming you have to make this one a regular on your playlist.
-
Scott CadwellGreat Podcast Done SimplyThanks be to Ferg for creating and publishing this podcast! svt512Very informative and entertaining podcast on the 2600 game libraryGreat content, very well put together and informative. Some of my favorite parts is hearing about the programmers and the occasional Bloopers at the end of the show from Ferg when he recorded the episode.

gelksterOne of the bestI subscribe to several podcasts & this is one if the best, a perfect example of "less is more." It meets the criteria of an ideal podcast. I've owned, played, & been an Atari 2600 fan for 35 years, & I STILL learn things from this 'cast. A true diamond in the rough.
-
british1500Straightforward podcastIn the era of retro gaming podcasts, many can fall by the wayside into off-topic discussion, meta, and modern gaming talk. This does not. It stays accurate and precise. With the bite-size length, you will never find yourself fast-forwarding or getting bored.
-
WindlaufenGreat podcastGreat work Ferg. I enjoy your work here. Brings back a lot of good memories.
